There have been trips where it eclipsed every other attraction by a multiples of rides. I remember riding it over and over and over when I was in my early teens.

    Up first the Magic Mirror...

And then the Evil Queen transformed as the hag.

She started her spell which quickly escalated...

The waters started to whip and she continuously drew up geysers of evil poison water..

She managed to conjure herself... as a fire-breathing DRAGON!

I mentioned the fire-breathing part right?

Fantasmic! over, we decided NOT to wait for the fireworks. I went and retrieved the stroller from down by Fowler's Landing and loaded up Vic for Amy to take back to the Hotel for the night. Katherine, Vic, and I decided to take advantage of the Indy MaxPass we had secured instead. Once we had finished Indy, we decided to chance taking the monorail out of the park. When we arrived at 10:20, the monorail was still not running. It was a bit before the trains started to roll and it took two before we were able to board one. While we were waiting, I took a few pics..

    A glimpse into the Matterhorn..

The subs... largely idled. One thing which struck me about the subs.. they are a HIGH maintenance attraction. Honestly surprised they've lasted so long. Will be sad to see them go when they eventually do (it is an inevitability at this point).

Where the Astro Orbiters used to be (they should RAPIDLY move them back in my opinion).

    Space Mountain afar.. Severely underexposed.

    MINE.. MINE!!!

The ride back was rapid, and a pleasant short walk to the hotel.

Well... that concludes Day 2. 400+ pictures and a lot of commentary so far. More to come...

If you are enjoying it, let me know. If you hate it, tell me to stop (I'll just ignore you, but feel free to let me know).

Saturday, 11/4. It was going to be an EARLY morning. EMH was at 7 for Disneyland today. Don't let the pictures fool you, that's just my camera work. It was DARK on the walk from the Adventure Tower to the Turnstiles. Security was a breeze this early though.

Apparently everybody else was also well rested as we rolled up to find our spot at the planter under the monorail track at 6:55.

Looked like there even some people lined up across the way at DCA. I think it wasn't going to open till 8.

Ugh... it's even hideous in the morning.

The line moved relatively fast until that invarible family who needs their picture taken. Disney should really move the picture taking to only mid-day entries or adopt the take your own photo approach.

There was no rope drop at the queue today... we were let straight in.

First stop was hopping in the Peter Pan Queue. Sadly we were pretty far back due to the overwhelming turnout this morning.

The queue makes for a pretty common spot for taking family pics... in fact this exact spot is where I tend to take quite a few oddly enough.

Vic would not let go of that Marie Plush we got her. She's even dragging it everywhere as of today.

Charlotte didn't want to face the camera for the Facebook morning update pic..

It was 7:17 by the time we made our way up to board our flying pirate ships. I love them flying off into the open window of the Darling residence.

    And here I goooooo...

    Love the shadow of Peter..

    Neverland is so beautiful.

Wish I could get a little better low-light performance. So many details like the Indian Village.

And Skull Rock hiding in the back.

    And the classic sword fight.

All we needed to fly away was a little pixie dust.

    Hook and Tic Toc

Still following, still loving the pics and the report.

7am EMH is THE BEST, even though it means 6am alarms on vacation. It's even better at DCA when all you have are hotel guests. We also made use of it a couple of times at MK in Florida, and it was just as magical (but a PITA to get to...).

Loving the Peter Pan shots, that is such a great ride, the original is better than the WDW version especially after the latest refurb where they added the lights.

Looking forward to the rest of the trip!

During our last stay at the Grand, it was just walk-through. Nobody else was even at the security check point. Really appreciated that.

PP is just a magical attraction. I wish it were about twice as long though with twice the show scenes. Maybe when they ditch Toad (I've heard that's coming)

Being creatures of habit, we only head one of two directions after getting off of Peter. What will it be today, Dumbo, or Alice? Dumbo was walk-on, so Dumbo it was...

I love that the original ticket booths for so many attractions have remained.

I love the sight of Disneyland in the morning with no people.

    Katherine with her P&S..

By now it was 7:30. Too much time spent in queue for Peter this trip due to our late arrival. We better high tail it over to Alice, but not before a Teacup pic.

Charlotte wasn't amused at having to wait in ANOTHER line for EMH.

Alice is pretty much the perfect blending of projection technology and practical effect unlike GOTG, which is now just screens.

Here is more of that seamless blending... Practical effect flowers, and projection all in one scene, complimenting and seamlessly integrating

First decent shot of those little guys down low.

    Caterpillar is a bit soft

    More seamless blending.

    And amazing practical.

    Love this sequence..

    Such a great practical here.

This vignette is one of my favorites... starts out practical and then moves into projection (projection not pictured)

Another seamless blending of practical in front with projection in back seamlessly blending together for perfection.

This is may or may not be what Amy looks like when I tell her I bought another mug.

    Tea anyone?

    Merry Unbirthday!!

Our top three EMH complete and it being a mere 17 minutes before park opening, we decided some Tea Cups were in order.

It was beyond empty for EMH... just the way we like it.

Amy decided to take a picture of me.

    And I returned the favor.

    Katherine was off by herself.

Our spin complete, and 13 minutes left of EMH, we split up. Amy took the younger girls to the bathroom and another spin on Dumbo while Katherine and I went our own way..

    Some Disneyland Ducks..

I've passed these signs probably 500 times and I honestly have never stopped to REALLY notice them until now.

Something we seldom do is Mr. Toad, so why not?

It really has a BEAUTIFUL queue.

The attraction is practically summarized in this painting.

Startled this guy.. hope he doesn't fall from his ladder.

Those guys hanging from the chandeliers are bad news.

    Wanted to steal that drumstick.

    Copper is sweating bullets.

    Poor farmer and his sheep.

Delivery van going the wrong way... or are we?

This guy has some MAD beer tossing skills. First time I've noticed the can-can dancer in the background.

This judge is a real buzz-kill and his bailiff is a grumpus.

The judge and the devil the same? Makes total sense to me.

This big green guy and those little red guys are kind of ominous.

We're planning a quick, last-minute trip for this weekend. Love looking through the vibrant pics to build the anticipation! :)

Gotta agree about PP and Alice, those are probably my favorite two in Fantasyland. Did they give you a paper "feather" that you had to match up to specific Dumbo vehicles? I know they were doing that last time we were there (September), which held the line up pretty bad. I guess they did it to eliminate the fights for specific Dumbos, but we were doubtful it would work well.

Dumbo didn't have a full ridership, so there were no feathers. Not sure if they were doing them at other times, but we had none.

Our first MaxPass for park open was nearly ready, so we started to head towards Tomorrowland, but not before we stopped to do a check-in for the Disneyland Addiction FB page (I'm wearing the shirt even!!).

The vista across Tomorrowland to the Matterhorn is always beautiful in the first morning light.

    Space was fun.

Twice. Not sure why Victoria had her eyes closed since it was HER who begged us to go on it twice.

8:21 and MaxPass already earning it's price, it was now to head over to Big Thunder for our THIRD MaxPass of the day.

I swear, Victoria is having the most fun of anybody on this runaway mine train.

    More of the same..

Goat trick... (people who suffer from dizziness or motion sickness probably don't want to try it.
