Do any or all of the hotels have car parks? we cant decide whether to drive or fly.:) thankyou.
(Obviously not from Scotland! from thousand oaks!):rotfl:

The hotels all have car parks. We just returned from Las Vegas yesterday and used the valet services at a few hotels (free service, just tip the valet.)

We stayed at the Bellagio lake view for a week. It was an easy decision as when we last went to Vegas a few years ago we went into all the hotels and I decided there and then next time we would be at the Bellagio. The reason being that it has a good location centre strip and the view:

I sat in the window for hours watching the dancing fountains (they pipe the music in through your TV)

We have previously stayed at the Venetian which was also a lovely hotel and the New York New York which was nice, but not as good as the Venetian or Bellagio.

As for the flying/driving thing we drove from LA (Hollywood) to Las Vegas, it was an easy 4 hour drive through the desert.

Thankyou so much, that looks amazing, I think it would be the same time driving as flying but driving would be less hassle, thankyou again for taking the time to reply:flower3:

We're doing the exact same thing - driving from L.A. to vegas in a few weeks. We figured overall probabaly a similar amount of time spent travelling but so much less hassle in the car. Plus you don't have to pack everything so carefully as you would for a flight.

Yes, and that is not thinking about any possible delays flying?
We are staying at my cousins in thousand oaks, but are going to tour about, is that the only place you are going to?
We are going to drive to Laguna seca to the motogp, any tips would be very welcome after your trip.:flower3: thankyou.
Where are you staying in LV?
We weer hoping to be able to afford a trip to the grand canyon to the sky walk, fingers crossed.

We did the skywalk last week. We went with Sundance helicopters who were very good. It doesn't look all that big, but once on it and you look down it is a long way! Then you realise you are looking at a ledge and the bottom is even further away!!

Here is a picture of it.

We're going to be in Anaheim for a week then a few days in Vegas, staying at the Bellagio, then back to Anaheim. Really looking forward to it, less than three weeks to go. We booked a helicopter flight to the Grand Canyon too, but not for the sky walk.

Thats practically what we have just done! We stayed at the Grand Californian for a week, then did a few other things (Six Flags Magic Mountain, Hollywood) for a week then spend a week at the Bellagio.

I lokked at the belagio, I take it you were in a suite, we would be staying in a regular room, are all the room the same in LV, it is so cheap compared to other places I have stayed.

No we were in a regular room, but paid extra to upgrade to lake view. I really wanted the lake view room and the lake view suites were too expensive for us as we were staying for 7 nights and had already had 2 weeks in the USA! The room was big though and very nice (seperate bath and shower, electric curtains, 4 poster bed etc)

All the rooms aren't the same in Vegas, like anywhere else you get what you pay for. It's just in Vegas rooms are cheaper that what UK folkes are used to as they are subsidised by the casino.

lasvegastalk is a really good website to go to for info and the people there are really friendly. I have been in quite a few of the Las Vegas hotels, which others are you looking at?

Honestly, my mind is boggling, I dont know, we go to FL in a few weeks, then i will be concentrating on LA/LV
I do like the look of that hotel you posted, I am not sure how much we would be in the room so did not want anything too expensive I dont think!
I think I would like something with a nice pool, but they all look good to me. We do not mind walking and indeed expect to waolk a lot when we go.
Have you been to san fran?
If so where and why did you stay when you went?
Again we only plan to stay 2 night so we do not mind paying to be in the middle of the action.

Hi there! I have stayed at many hotels in Vegas and one of my favorites is the MGM Grand. It has a GREAT pool.. in fact it has 5 or 6 pools including a lazy river. It is a HUGE pool area. MGM's rates are great too. I am going in October and it is $89/night (wed-friday). It's right on the strip and has a monorail station to travel up the strip. I also really like Mandalay Bay (great pool too!).
Two years ago I went to SF and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Fisherman's Wharf. It's a nice location-easy walk to the Wharf, pier 39, Ghiardelli square and the Cable Car turn-around. It was very clean, quiet and included a continental breakfast. WE're planning on going there in 2009 with our kids and will stay here again.

Regarding flying vs. driving: I went to college in SoCal and spent many a weekend driving back and forth to Vegas but I haven't driven there in 10 years at least. We always fly from Burbank and use taxis while there. I hope never to have to make that drive again, lol. We like to start the party early-with drinks on the plane (actually in the airport :rolleyes1 ).
