Las Vegas

Does anyone know anything about something I saw on the travel channel? You can get in a suit and go into an air tunnel and fly like you are sky diving? Where is it? Do they have a web site? Has anyone done this?

That´s a great website. Thanks for the tip!!!
I don´t get anything done around the house since posting this thread. ´Can´t wait to go to Vegas!!!

We are going to Vegas in July and we will be staying at the Luxor hotel. The last time we went (2004) we stayed at Circus Circus, yes, it's very old and tired looking, but it was clean and we didn't spend a lot of time in the rooms and we loved the Pink Pony restaurant and we also had the breakfast buffet that we really liked.
We went to Roy and Siegfrieds Secret Gardens which were fantastic with the lions, tigers and dolphins. We rode a Gondola at the Venetian which was gret.
We walked in awe along the strip as it was something else and also saw the light shows at Fremont Street, we spent the whole night there.
Looking forward to going again.
Love Ella

Has anyone stayed at the Flamingo?
I must admit, that I´m actually considering whether we will be allowed to stay in one room. We are 2 adults and 4 kids. If we would have 2 queens I know that 3 of the kids could sleep in one bed (we´ve done it many times before) and the baby could sleep in a cot. The real question is therefore whether we would be allowed to?

Do we even have to ask, or can I just make a reservation for a room with 2 queens for 2 adults and 2 kids?

Feedback needed...

The wax museum at the venetian is a blast, and so is the star trek thing at the hilton(and I don't even know anything about star trek..just went for hubby's sake..lol).

We got our tickets for both for 1/2 price, about 1/2 way down the strip, opposite side of the street as caesars palace. There is like a courtyard of booths/carts with mdse for sale. You will find the 1/2 price ticket place there..they had some great deals. Many, many shows and attractions to choose from.

We loved the venetian, but decided mandaly bay, new york new york looked great as well as the Wynn of course. Oh, and the buffet at the Wynn(we went for breakfast), omg...you have to go. Totally delicious.

Get on the internet and sign up for some of the websites email specials for the resorts you are interested in. We got a great deal on the venetian. Cabs are farely cheap if you don't have a car.

No problem with the Holiday Inn Boardwalk - it's closed :) For good. It's being torn down to put in something called City Center.

Phew! No more dangerous food from that hole.

:goodvibes

I don't know about all of you in the same room......I would send them an e-mail and ask. I have almost stayed at the Flamingo, it is on my list to try as the pool looks great.
If you want a hot dog go into the NYNY casino and walk through the casino ( they don't care about the kids as long as you are walking) it bring you to the great themed area with lots of restaurants. They have a Nathan's hotdogs there.Another place my DD loves to visit each trip !

I agree that you either love Las Vegas or you hate it. I remember my parents always having to stop there if going anywhere near it. I also remember getting left at the babysitting arcade/theater place at Circus Circus which was freaky in itself. Then when I was a teen, I was left in the video arcade. All I did was step foot on the main floor to tell my parents I was going back to the trailer and got basically kicked out. In fact, I was told to stand by the windows at least once every trip for being too close to the machines! As a result, my children have never been to Las Vegas. However, seeing all the new amusement park kind of things there that people have posted, I may consider it next time the subject comes up.

you know if you go to some of the websites for different hotels there, and sign up, they will send you special rates all the time...I get about 4 a day :rolleyes2

also, you HAVE to try Le Village Buffet for breakfast...it is so goood :yay:

I´m off to sign up for all the hotel newsletters!!!

I forgot to ask: How many days/nights do we need for Vegas? We had planned on 3 or 4, is that enough/ too long?
Just as with Disney, for me that's not long enough - and I visit Las Vegas reasonably frequently. Of course, I'm cheap (oops, I mean cost-concious :)) and prefer not to pay the high weekend hotel rates, so my trips are generally five nights. There's always more I want to do.

According to our newest plan we will be there Monday-Thursday. Should save us some money on accomodation.

We spent three night in vegas, but because we arrived very late, and left very early, only had two actual days, which was probably a day too short.

But we spent one whole day seeing the GC and without that, two actual days in Vegas would have been right (it would have allowed us to see all The Strip, without having to rush, as we did).

Going Monday-Thursday is a very god idea. We we were there Wednesday to Saturday. For the first two night (Wednesday and Thursday) we got the Luxor for $45 per night, for the Friday it soared to almost $100 (we couldn't change the itinerary).
