Greetings from the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Marathon Staff. We sincerely hope that you and your loved ones had a wonderful holiday season. And now that the holidays are almost done, it is Marathon time. As you continue to prepare for your upcoming trip to the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort, we wanted to pass along a few final race instructions. This e-mail contains information about the following:

The Start The 2005 WALT DISNEY WORLD® Marathon and Half Marathon will utilize a split start. Marathon and Half Marathon participants will run on separate courses and join at 3.3 miles. To be timed, you must start on the correct side of Epcot Center Drive. Signs and race personnel will direct you to the appropriate start during the 0.6-mile walk to the starting line. Please plan to arrive at Epcot® no later than 4:00 a.m. Volunteers will direct you to the pre-race Staging Zone by 5:00 a.m. and you will be seeded by race number according to your estimated finishing time. For your safety, please line up in the appropriate corral. The corrals will have signs and event personnel to assist you. Please be courteous when removing your throw-away items before the start, (ex. clothing, plastic bags, plastic drinking containers, etc.) and pass these items to the sides.

Disney's Health and Fitness Expo-Presented by TYLENOL® 8 Hour As a reminder, all WALT DISNEY WORLD® Marathon and Half Marathon participants will need to attend packet pick-up at Disney's Health and Fitness Expo - Presented by TYLENOL® 8 Hour. The Expo will take place on Friday, January 7 from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday January 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Disney's Wide World of Sports® Complex. To avoid the long lines on Saturday, we are recommending that Marathon and Half Marathon participants plan to attend packet pick-up on Friday, January 7.

Transportation Transportation from Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, and Disney's Polynesian Resort hotels to the 2005 WALT DISNEY WORLD® Marathon and Half Marathon start line will be provided by monorail ONLY. The monorail will begin at 3:00 a.m. and continue all day, however, runners must be at the staging area by 4:00 a.m. Bus transportation will NOT be provided from these Magic Kingdom® Resort Hotels to the race start. Upon completion of either the Full or Half Marathon, guests can take buses or the monorail back to their resort hotel.

Refreshments and Restrooms Twenty two beverage stations and five food stops will be set up along the course, offering DASANI® water and POWERADE® electrolyte replacement beverage. Portable restroom facilities will also be available on the course near the beverage stations. In addition, portable facilities will be available at Epcot® near the baggage tents and near both start lines.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Worship Services EPIC Ecumenical Pre-Marathon Interfaith Celebration will be held on Sunday, January 9th from 4:15 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. near the Family Reunion Tents in the Epcot® Wonder parking lot.

Post-Race Massages Florida Hospital Celebration Health will offer massages for Marathon participants in the Marathon finish area. The cost of the massage is $10.00 per 10 minutes. Sessions are available on a first come, first serve basis. For more information, please visit the Florida Hospital Celebration Health booth at Disney's Health and Fitness Expo-Presented by TYLENOL® 8 Hour. Proceeds will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Results Official Results will be posted at Downtown Disney® Pleasure Island from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Official Results will be posted on www.disneyworldmarthon.com on Sunday, January 9th beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Remember that your friends and family will be able to track your progress in the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Marathon and Half Marathon on the Internet. Race results will be continually published throughout the race as participants cross split points and the finish line. Tell your friends and family to visit www.disneyworldmarathon.com on race day to find out how you are doing!
Your friends and family will also be able to follow your race through Runner Messaging. Runner Messaging allows Marathon and Half Marathon participants to send race updates to pagers, cell phones, or emails to pre-selected family and friends. Prior to the race, runners can enter up to seven contacts to be notified as they cross split points and the finish line. This tool will be available at www.disneyworldmarathon.com prior to the race as well as at the Expo during registration. Please check www.disneyworldmarathon.com soon for more information.
