List of WDW restaurants from years past?

Hmmmm.... well that kind of rewrites a bit of my memory! I know the waitress took a photo at Bonfamille's, I remember handing her the camera and she couldn't figure out the flash. But you're right, it does look like the sunroom. So now I have to go hunt down other pictures, but I have absolutely no idea where they could be!

But... that kind of solves the other part of the mystery lol.

Oh, I thought that was from the French restaurant you couldn't figure out lol. Tho when you mentioned BATB, I did remember the Soundstage Restaurant at MGM back in the day had a BATB theme to it when I went as a kid.

I don't think we went to that one!

On the other hand, it was 19 years ago and I'm finding my memories aren't as clear as I thought they were lol. My husband on the other hand was gobsmacked. He didn't think we had ever been to Chefs de France. We're planning on it for the Candlelight Dinner Packagefor our Christmas trip! But that's for sure CdF.

This photo reminds me-didn't there used to be an outdoor restaurant in that location-I'm not sure of the name, but I think it started with an "A"-maybe "Au Petit" something? Don't remember any theme.

Au Petit Cafe was counter service and had sandwiches and pastries. It’s been gone for at least a decade. There’s always been some outdoor seating at the French pavilion, and there’s even more now inside. You might try Les Halles though, bigger and more variety than the old café.

Thanks, yes it was more than 10 years ago when I remember it. Didn't know it was CS. I suppose that's OK, though-there's no place better for pastries than Le Halles!

One of our family favorites used to be this CS restaurant at Wonders of Life pavilion called "Pure and Simple." Back in the day, it was one of the rare healthier choice counter service options, which was very appealing to my parents after eating typical park food all week. They also sold tofu hot dogs, which was great because I was vegetarian at the time.

Our other traditional go-to's when I was a kid was the character buffet that used to be at the Contemporary Resort prior to Chef Mickets. I cannot seem to find the name of it, but it was there throughout the 80's and I am almost positive it was housed where Contempo Cafe is now, as I remember being able to watch the monorails go by as we ate. We also occassionally frequented the character meal that took place on the boat at Disney Village. I *think* it was called the Lillybelle Restaurant??

Those were really the only 2 TS restaurants we visited on site when we were kids. My parents didn't want to spend the money to eat on site, aside from CS lunches. We used to make our dining reservations at the futuristic kiosks at Epcot first thing in the morning lol ;)

We were there in April 2000, and it was 100% Bonfamille's, I know that. It was at Port Orleans and a sit down Cajun/Creole place. I'm 50% Cajun, and very critical of such things lol.

As for the others, I'm sure I have a poor memory of the BatB themed one. It's very hazy and the only thing I think I'm sure of is that it was a largish place.

I am however 100% certain there was a restaurant with trellises and a (SMALL) outdoor seating area and we got sangria. Everything else is suspect lol. Alfredo sounds actually correct, I'm going to look into it. I remember them making a "thing" over the Alfredo sauce. So that's a very strong possibility.

The outdoor venue at HS almost sounds like Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge, it’s along the outside of the main restaurant.

Depending on the years you visited, it was either called the Terrace Café or the Contemporary café. Same location, just a slightly different name. There was also another restaurant in that same area the Concourse steakhouse. The quick service was downstairs in the old Food and Fun center, where the big arcade was.

The Empress Lilly had a regular restaurant and a character meal.

Yes! Empress Lilly is what it was!

I asked my parents about the Contemporary restaurant and she thought it was called "Terrace Buffeteria" or "Mickey's Buffeteria." She said it was definitely where Contempo Cafe is now.

Yes, that's correct. There was a "Terrace Buffeteria" in the Grand Canyon Concourse. I believe it was originally called the "Grand Canyon Terrace".

I wish I remembered all the places we ate on our honeymoon! We for sure ate at Bonfamille's (I had whole fish for the first time), and now clearly I know we ate at Mama Melrose and Chefs de France (we just booked the Candlelight Package for Xmas Eve there! So excited!). I am reasonably certain we ate at Alfredo. And my most vivid memory is V&A on the final night of our trip, which was also my birthday, and the most spectacular meal I have ever eaten. But I know there were many other places, we were there for 9 days! Knowing us, we probably ate counter service a lot. I vaguely recall drinking and eating a lot around the world at Epcot. I have a theory that we ate at Teppan Edo though my husband thinks I'm cray cray. But that's it.

Sigh. Love making new memories though. My foodie 9-year old is very spoiled.

Way Back in the 90's, I loved Pizza Planet, I have very good memories of family trips to Disneyland before Downtown Disney, California Adventure and Galaxy Edge was built.
But I’m going September 19th – 23rd 2019, to Walt Disney World to make new memories with my family.

Back in the early to mid 90's, there was a counter service place in Hollywood Studios that had a Beauty and The Beast theme to it and you could meet Belle and the Beast on this grand type staircase. I'm not sure when the restaurant closed, but it could have easily still been there in 2000. I can't recall the food, but I am pretty sure the inside resembled a ballroom, but I am 99% sure it was counter service. I have photo's, but none of the food.....

I recently fished out my old Birnbaum's guides from 96, 98 and 2000 but they don't have a lot of photos of restuarants. I'm excited to look at the old park maps a previous poster linked to.
