Magic Kingdom First Timers Advice on Fireworks

Hello First Timers!

Just wanted to give you some advice on where to stand when you go see the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom.

It may be plainly obvious to some, but not to others. Stand as near to the exit as you can!!!!!!!!

We stood at the bottom of the castle cos we thought it would be romantic. First of all, you can't see the fireworks from there anyway!! Second thing is as soon as the shows over, everyone....I mean......everyone turns and heads for the exit.

Oh my gawd, we were queing for hours to get outa there, then there was the problem of queing for the monorail or the ferry which took another few hours..... it was exhausting, sucked the joy right out of the day. (just kidding, nothing could do that at disney!!!! But it was hectic!)

Anyway, if you are stuck in the crowds going through the shops to get out is quicker and the ferry is your best bet, it takes more people at once!!!!

Yes, the crowds are horrible. We watched the fireworks from the bottom of Main St and headed right out and got on the resort monorail. One quick stop at the CR and we were at the TTC. Missed most of the crowds, but we were on the run!!

If you don't mind staking out your claim early (about 2 hours before the start of the parade) on a choice spot to watch not only the fireworks but the night parade at WDW then stake your claim early on the top of the train platform facing the castle. You get a great view of the parade as it makes its way around the flag pole at the head of main street USA and then you can see all of the fireworks framed behind the castle.

we had agreat view by the tunnel at the train station and got out pretty quickly too...used the shop thing at mgm for fantasmic though and got out ahead of most of the crowd, even those who went the other dinner package way.
