Day 4 – Birthday Cruise
Cast – Snowman (AKA Tia, obsessive trip planner, 2nd trip to WDW)
Stoney (AKA Darla, Cinderella fan, 2nd trip to WDW)
Carl (the nephew, turning 7 at WDW, 1st trip to WDW)
Dates – Nov 11-17, 2000
Resort – Dixie Landings

When we get back to the resort Darla decides a cold beer at the lounge would be wonderful, so Carl & Tia head back to the room to change clothes. Then we all meet at the lounge. After a Coke for Carl and a frozen Mudslide for Tia (very good), we decide to head to the food court to get Carl some dinner (chicken fingers again). Nobody else is very hungry, just thirsty so we share a bottle of water.

By the time Carl is done we have about 15 minutes to wait for the taxi that we have arranged to take us to Boardwalk. I would definatly take a cab again if I were going to the Boardwalk. It cost us $7.00 but we didn’t have to rely on Disney transportation and alllow 2 extra hours. But, next time I would plan on getting to the Boardwalk much earlier and eating there. The cab drops you off right at the entrance, it is very convienient.

There was a bit of confusion about where we were supposed to be so Darla went down to talk to the man on the boat dock for the Friendship boats. They think we were supposed to be at the Yacht & Beach Club. Of course I’m having a meltdown because everything I have been told up to this point says Boardwalk. No problem, they will have the boat pick us up here. Good thing, I have 5 other people meeting us at the Boardwalk for this little party.

The cruise is a hit. I would definatly do it again, if I could be guaranteed Fireworks. For $185.00 we had balloons, cake, soda and the best seat in the house for the show. The captian (AKA Cruise Captain on the DIS) takes us down to MGM and then up to Epcot to our spot under the bridge. He gave Carl a signed picture from Goofy and a stuffed monkey. After the cruise he gave us a Magical Moments Certificate.

After the cruise we take the remaining birthday cake back to the resort. After Carl calls his mother to tell her about his birthday party we all go to bed. No early morning tomorrow, we are doing World Showcase.

The Illuminations cruise sounds wonderful, Tia. I'm glad you finally found the boat. :)

Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

Lisa :)
