Day 6 – This turned out to be a very long day, but so worth it. We got up early to get to MGM early because the books all say they usually open the gates an hour to an hour and a half early. WRONG. They opened the gate at 8:30. Next time we will sleep in. We didn’t eat breakfast because we were going to do Tower of Terror and Rock n Roller Coaster first thing.

After the gate opening, we walked up to Susnet Blvd to wait for the rope drop to go to Tower of Terror. When the CM’s drop the rope, they walk you up the street. Tia had no intention of doing ToT, so Carl and Darla fast walk to ToT and Tia takes her time getting to the exit of the ride. When they come out Carl is all set to do it again. He loved it. For a kid that claims he’s afraid of heights he loved every ride he did. Instead of ToT again we head over to RnR. We pretty much walk on with just a very short wait. Carl and Darla ride in the very front with Tia right behind them. The harness fit fine, even on me. I’m am a size 28 and had no problem w/ the harness. I was pleasantly surprised. My biggest fear going in is that I wouldn’t fit and would be embarrassed. I’m glad I took the chance. I kept my eyes closed the whole way, but enjoyed the ride sensation, even the loop. Carl and Darla loved it all. When we got off Carl wanted to do it again. Since the line wasn’t very long Tia took him on while Darla smoked. We weren’t in the very front this time. Tia kept her eyes open thru the picture, but that was it.

After RnR, we headed toward the Backlot tour. On the way we saw Pooh and was able to get his autograph. Thank goodness, as this was the only “important” one we hadn’t gotten yet and we were leaving the next day. I liked the Backlot Tour better than last year (maybe not having to wait so long in the heat had something to do with that) but it still isn’t a favorite. Carl thought Catastrophe Canyon was pretty cool but that the rest of the ride was pretty lame. By the time we got off we were all starved. So we stopped at Studio Catering Company for stacked sandwiches. Darla got the Roast Beef & Swiss, while Tia got the Ham & Turkey Club. Both came with chips and we shared a large soda. The sandwiches were huge. Carl shared my Ham & Turkey and we all had plenty to eat. Lunch was less than $16.00, a bargain by anybody’s stanards.

After lunch we headed to Muppet 3-D. This is a really cute movie, and the whole experience is much more enjoyable than ITTBAB. Then it was on to Star Tours and The Great Movie Ride. Star Tours gets thumbs up from all of us, but only Darla really enjoyed the GMR. Tia & Carl could skip it and not even care. Then we head out of the park to return to the resort. We are coming back to MGM for Fantasmic, so we want to rest.

I rode RnR with my eyes closed also. Don't like loops. Thanks for posting!
