May cancel October trip, other cheap times to go?

I have a reservation for the week before Halloween with the fall DVC offer. It’s looking like we may have to cancel because of work. I’m pretty bummed, Aulani is so expensive without the deal. Can you recommend another time to go? When do deals get posted? Would you wait for southwest to announce their flights and the subsequent airfare wars? Thanks in advance.

I've looked and looked and the least expensive way is to book rent DVC points. If you want to book through the hotel, late April/early May usually has discounts.
