Disney and McDonalds also were major contributors to purchase Sue the T-Rex dinosaur. There was fear it would be sold to an international buyer. Some of the bones were taken to Disney's Animal Kingdom, housed in large tents you could watch them clean them (I saw them). After the skeleton was complete both companies made replicas of them, Disney's is in front of the ride Dinosaur. The agreement was to give the original to the Chicago Field Museum since Chicago, Illinois was birth home to both Walt Disney and Ray Kroc.
