I will be traveling with my DD in a w/c (non-foldable) or a foldable special needs stroller(hopefully I can "find" one before we leave). I f I wind up using the stroller then I am thinking there will be no problems...BUT, If I have to use her w/c, then is Mears equipped to handle this? She rides in a regular seat.....or should I just do a towncar? I know my DD w/c fits in my sisters trunk of her towncar even w/out taking the wheels off. I kinda like the idea of a towncar because I heard they will even stop by the market on the way to your resort.

Thanks again!!!!!!!

From everything I have read, the Tiffany Towncar is the way to go. I never forgave Mears for stuffing my then 79-year-old mother and her 77 year old sister in the far back seat of a small, crowded van...

We've always rented a van, so I don't have any experience, but I have heard from people who used Mears wheelchair van and were pleased. They do have vans that are lift and wheelchair tiedown equipped.
For the Towncar, I would be worried about whether the wheelchair will fit in the trunk along with whatever luggage you are bringing. I don't know what size the trunk is and I guess I wouldn't assume the wheelchair would fit for sure. You could try calling them and ask the measurements.
Good luck.

Hey - is this for Bekah by any chance? Do I recall correctly? Anyway - my family of 5 did TTC and Kev's wheelchair fit just fine. The extended handle and wheels were removed. The kids LOVED riding in a limo. The grocery stop was excellent...

I wasn't with them till the next day, but my DH reported that as they were walking out of store with groceries, someone commented "Y'all go to the STORE in a limo????"

hee hee.

Is another option you might consider. It's only $10 more and will surely hold the wheelchair. That's what we're using in August when we come with a borrowed scooter for hubby.

Have a Great Disney Day!

Hi Sue, Yes, you are correct. I am talking about Bekah! How are you all doing? Good I hope!

So you did Tiffany & all of you, the w/c, your luggage...everything fit? That is alot of room huh? Do you recall the pricetag? Wsa it cheaper than mears or about the same? I don't have a problem with spending the extra dough, just so Bekah is comfortable!

Very exciting! Well - we had so many people it was only a tad more expensive than mears - and a very popular choice. I found a $5 coupon on one of the other Disney boards - there is a link to it from this board's home page. I think it was about $70.

The person at TTC was very informative, I think she will be able to tell you if everything will fit. Since we had 5 going down the first day, and 6 coming back, I never got to ride in the dang thing!

Have a marvelous time!!!

We love tiffany! We have no trouble fitting in all of our gear including the wheel chair. We figure that we make up the added few dollars by getting to WDW quicker and with the grocery stop. We have also found that it really sets the tone for our trip. We usually fly Southwest who's motto is, "we'll get you there but don't expect anything else!" After being cramped into a flying cattle car for several hours it is wonderful to ride in the lap of luxary. Well worth it IMO! :)
