MK Riverboat Icecream & Parade Party

Planning on booking this for our trip later this year and was wondering how many on here have tried it and what their thoughts were. Also what is the view like for the parade - does the boat stay at the dock or does it move to a better vantage point?

I did this party last year and it was lots of fun. On the day I did it, the "dessert party" portion was held inside at Liberty Tree Tavern, where you had your selection of specialty desserts and did the meet & greet with Tiana and Naveen. Then they escorted us over to the boat, which traveled around the river and stopped up near Frontierland by the start of the parade for the viewing. You can stake out a position on any of the three levels of the boat to get a view of the parade (in general, the higher you go, the better you'll be able to see).

During the parade there were more desserts and drinks available on the boat, and Tiana and Naveen joined the onboard party after the initial trip around (but before the parade), and did their own little parade that the kids could join and continued doing more "candid" style meets with guests. As a big fan of princesses in general and "The Princess and the Frog" specifically, it was a great experience and well worth the money for me.

Thanks for the info - looking forward to doing it in September!

We did it in May.
It was a fun, last moment decision that DGD and I did when we walked by and they said they still had openings for that day.
The desserts are fun and Naveen is one of the best characters to meet.
The view of the parade is poor. You are really removed from it. Really, if the parade is important I do NOT suggest this at all. You can get a good view of the parade without any wait times right there near the boat, at all times of the year and in all crowd levels. If you are down on the parade level you get interaction with parade characters.
But if you've done the parade a few times and looking for something else to do for a change, the boat party is fun.

We did the parade last year and had a FP for it so great position to see it from. Thought we might try something different this year and this looked like a fun thing to do even though the parade is a little bit distant from the boat.
