My shirts came out looking worn and faded . . . any tips?

I did two shirts last night and both of them looked worn. I followed the directions from the paper, but the colors just look "off." The red in Mickey actually came out kind of pinkish.

I used white t-shirts and HP paper for light shirts. The whole thing just looks somewhat faded. Has this happened to anyone else?

I have found that the transfers for dark shirts keep the colors more "true". I have even used the dark transfer sheets on white shirts. The transfers for light shirts seem to bleed, at least in my opinion.
