Seeing reports (specifically about strollers, but indications are it applies to scooters and grocery delivery as well) that effective soon Disney is prohibiting the drop-off by any vendors of strollers, scooters and groceries with bell services and the guest MUST meet directly with the vendor for pick up and drop off. Anyone else seeing this? Waiting anxiously for Disney to issue official statement.

If that's true, many people will be very upset.
We've rented a scooter many times and tried both meeting directly with the vendor and picking up at bell services. Obviously bell services is easier but meeting with the vendor was also efficient and they were always there a few minutes before the agreed time.

If this is true it makes me wonder if TWDC was planning fees for these things at bell services but with the backlash against so many price increases figured it would be more acceptable to guests not to pay extra fees and just do the exchange themselves?

I read about it at KTP ( https://www.kennythepirate.com/2019/09/27/disney-world-eliminates-outside-vendor-drop-off-services/ ), although details seem to murky right now.

No confirmation on grocery yet and possibly it won't be affected. Changes so far are with mobility companies (rentals of strollers, ECV, wheelchair, iceskates, etc).

Doesn't really bother me; it's not a big difference to my rental experience. Resort parking fees annoyed me, this not so much.

This is so troubling. When we check in I pick up my scooter so I wil
I will be able to go to my room. Sometimes the room is really far from the lobby.

You could arrange to meet the representative at or close to your arrival. You could request a room close to the lobby. You could ask for physical assistance getting to your room, then back to the lobby to meet the rep.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the number of scooter that were left at the resort. I think @RaySharpton had taken a picture of a lot of scooter thst were left at pop ( looked like over 50) if they just got overwhelmed with the number and with stroller and the such. I hope this dose not effect anyone and that the transition goes smoothly

Don’t some company paid DISNEY for using the bell service. As scooter company’s.

Interesting news...we'll see how it plays out.

That would be my assumption, also. I know they instituted delivery fees on things like packages shipped and handled through the front desk. But with the number of people I see posting all over the boards about "have it delivered" or "how do I avoid delivery fees" - I can imagine Bell Services/Luggage Services may be getting overwhelmed with accepting and handling deliveries other than luggage. That includes ECVs, wheelchairs, mobility equipment for the room (shower chairs and such), strollers, groceries, etc.

While a common rumor, no, I don't believe they actually pay WDW to be a "featured vendor." However they did go through a rigorous application process and meet a lot of requirements; some vendors simply opted no to go that route. The featured vendors were selected back in 2012 and I don't believe there has been option for changes since (no new ones added).

Enjoy your vacation!

Thank you for your suggestions.

Sorry, maybe it's a typo but this just cracked me up! Who is renting ice skates for delivery at WDW?
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Well you know there was that freak snow storm that hit central FL and this is why we have. Blizzard beach All kidding aside I think this was a typo too but I too had a good laugh.

So does this make the “Verified” vendors obsolete?
This could mean featured bender are but I think we will have to wait and see. I wish there was a way to know for sure if the stroller ECV wheelchair meet Disney size requirements If that is what you meant

I just called ScooterBug since I have a reservation with them in November. They have not heard of this new policy and they are one of the preferred vendors.

It shouldn't. Those pictures were much more recent (three months ago) than the policy change (maybe three years ago?) Any scooters in that picture should belong to the Featured vendors - who have Disney's approval to utilize Bell Services.

There is no preferred venders only featured

With this said from the video I posted it sounds like if you make a reservation before October 1 the vendern can drop off and pick up as normal it will be for people that have made them after October 1

No I was just saying that Disney is getting overwhelming with the number of things left with them

This seems like it will be more of a nightmare for the vendors than for the renters. Imagine having to meet people at 2 and 2:30 and 3 and 3:30 etc. Currently they can drop off a bunch at a time. And then having to meet for pick up too. If my flight is at 6am they'd have to meet at like 3:30 am to retrieve it. Not cool!
