AKL is a wonderful place.
We stayed there in Sept 02

Things to know about AKL:
There is one pool but is huge and has a decent waterslide.
There are towels by the pool and also childrens swim vests for use for free. Pool is open 24 hours but slide is open usually 10a-10p. 2 hot tubs ( I saw a giraffe one AM while sitting in one)
On the back of the map you get at checkin: there are a list of activities and times for the resort ( I did not find this until I got home)
The buses run great to the other parks.
15-20 mins to get to MK
10 mins to Epcot or MGM
10 mins to AK or blizzard beach.
There is one bus stop to the front left of the lodge
3 restaurants:
Mara (fast food and takeout, small market) Refillable mugs
Boma (buffet for breakfast and dinner)
I highly recommend the breakfast buffet. Great Juice!
I didn't try the dinner but I heard it was very good.
Jiko sit down dinner , kind of pricey but I heard the food was good
If you can not afford a savannah view room, you can still see animals all over the place. (Even walking to the elevators)
We had a savannah view room on 2nd floor but there were trees in the way.
Savannah view room had 2 queen beds or 1 queen with bunks. 2 sink vanity area outside of tub/toilet area.
TV cabinet, dresser in entryway, small table and 2 chairs.
Balcony with 2 chairs and small end table.
Very roomy for 2 adults and 2 kids.
