Nexus!

In MCO it is called "TSA Pre Chek". You must enter your Nexus # online when you checkin. (If in fact you checkin online) It will give you a much quicker lane to clear security.

This has been a source of great frustration to us when coming back from MCO. No matter when we enter the Nexus info - whether it's in our airline account or added at check-in or both - it never registers on the boarding pass which MUST state "TSA Pre-Chek" or you cannot go through that line. We've usually done the online check-in, then gone to the agent to have them reprint the boarding pass. Last week we used a kiosk since lines for the agents were long. Even though you have the option to use your Nexus card instead of passport at the kiosk, it never works. It just tells you to go to an agent. So we discovered (this is the case in Pearson too at the kiosks - who designed this???) that you use your passport first and when it asks about your TTN (trusted traveller number), THEN you enter your Nexus number and voila, you get TSA Pre-Chek on the boarding pass. Stupidly designed system. Still, given the lines we saw, it's well worth the hassle.

Yes, we learned this the hard way. And although we enter our Nexus number versus you entering your passport, yes, you still need to enter your Trusted Traveller Number (Nexus) again or you will not get "Pre Chek".

And by the way, the Pre Chek security at MCO changed locations somewhat. They are now at the opposite end of where they used to be. After going through these new lanes, we then stepped on the closest tram to get to the gate and quickly realized we were heading to the gates numbered 100 and higher. Not a big deal to just stay on and get right back to the proper tram however

Did the same thing. We have been to MCO 6 times in the last 13 months and are used to getting into the Nexus line at the far right. We had to ask where it was and then just blithely got onto the tram ahead of us, got off and started walking until realized I didn't recognize anything. Then saw the sign for gates 100+ and had to get back on the tram and make sure we got off on the side we boarded on (as opposed to the side they want to you to exit on which drives you to the baggage claim and outside security) and then walk over to the correct ones. Duh. We felt so stupid until we saw 3-4 other people doing the same.
