Hello. I'm looking to see if there are any unique or non-standard concierge requests that people can recommend. I've done the standard ones below. Anything else people can think of? I've heard of a possible chef table request. Anything else unique?

- Cabana request
- Preferred seating in rotational dining areas / private table
- Shutter's photo time
- Golf cart transport from ship to cabanas at CC
- Pillow request

Thanks,
Brad

Never heard of a chef table on DCL...

The golf cart thing is automatic for cabanas. Not something you have to request.

Kinda. The golf cart is from the cabanas and cabana check-in to places like the restaurants. I asked about golf cart transport from the ship itself to the cabanas and they said it all dependent on the staffing levels. Normally you have to take the tram to the cabana checkin and they can golf cart you from there.

Ah. Never saw the tram as a big deal personally.

Maybe a specific table type for dinners. When we traveled Dream concierge we had a Teacup Table at Enchanted Garden and a table right near the screens at Animator’s Palace. In our case, we didn’t request those in advance, just lucked out....but you could probably make a request along those lines.

Also, anyone can ask for preferred seating (I figure you're talking about things like "a table near Crush screens in AP" and such?). Concierge automatically gets their own table, unless you request otherwise.

On our last sailing, we needed to get off the ship as early as possible. We carried our own luggage off and did express walk-off. Instead of standing in the very long line in the lobby, we were escorted down by a concierge CM (in a private elevator) and placed in a cordoned off area right in front of the doors so, as soon as the ship was cleared, we were the first group off the boat. You can also be escorted directly to the tenders if you have a stop that requires them (like Grand Cayman).

I have always wanted to sit at one of the teacup tables. I hope that we can request one of those with concierge!

Dumb question...but what do you mean by a Shutters photo time?

What's the pillow request? Is it for more pillows or specific types?

There are different types of pillows you can request...Tempurpedic, no-snore, feather, etc. You can also request a satin pillow case.

Oh, wow. Fancy! I didn't know that. I'll have to request some. I'm guessing it's done the same way with any other request? Call DCL and have them note it in your reservation?

Thanks!

You don’t need to call in advance. They are available onboard. When you first meet your stateroom host, ask for them. He will replace a standard pillow with the requested one at the first turndown. He will usually ask on which side of the bed to put each pillow if you request different ones.

For some reason, they do not leave the pillow menu in the staterooms anymore. We didn’t need it on our last cruise since we knew what we wanted.

Probably one of those uber expensive private sessions (as in the sitting fee alone is expensive - then you add on the photos and wowza!). No characters. I think usually black and white pics. Though if you're cruising concierge, the cost of those is probably pocket change. :P

That’s also my take on them but, from previous threads, a few people here really like them.

Hmmm....sounds like I had better seek out some teacup threads and see if I would really even want one. Thanks for the heads up!

The tables next to Crush are fun but our kids are old enough that they would rather watch little kids sit there and experience the "magic" of having Crush talk to them. So we would never request those.

Other that than, I am not sure that there are any special table requests I would want anywhere?

Basically from what I gather, they are ok for 2, possible for 3, and crowded for 4 just sitting. And that for more than a couple of people the table is VERY crowded with plates.

My requests when in concierge were pretty basic I thought, but were a total fail on concierge staff. I wanted to do a on-board booking for a future cruise and I wanted a lounge chair on my expanded deck. I was told no to the lounger and I was given a time for the on-board agent to meet with me but the staff never arranged it so I had to sit in the concierge lounge while they tried to get someone up there to meet with me. Never knew there was a pillow menu nor did we have robes/slippers in our cabin. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary on that trip. It was one of the least memorable trips unfortunately.

^^^ That stinks. We celebrated our 30th anniversary with a concierge cruise. We are were also denied an extra lounger on our verandah. They apologized profusely, but the officer in charge said no. We were ok with that. We did have robes and slippers and a pillow menu. It was a great trip. I'm sorry it did not work out so well for you.
