Non-Standard Advance Concierge Requests

Hmmm....sounds like I had better seek out some teacup threads and see if I would really even want one. Thanks for the heads up!

The tables next to Crush are fun but our kids are old enough that they would rather watch little kids sit there and experience the "magic" of having Crush talk to them. So we would never request those.

Other that than, I am not sure that there are any special table requests I would want anywhere?
Count us in the "did it once (teacup table), won't do it again" group. We had 4 adults at our table, and, while the seating (booth-style) is sufficient, the table (being the center of the circle) is really small.

Not a whole lot of space, if you have multiple dishes served at the same time, plus coffee cups, glasses, bread bowl/butter. And you knock knees/feet with everyone all the time under the table.

We are cruising concierge for the first time during one of our 2019 cruises, celebrating our 20th (dating) anniversary (celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary later in 2019 on another cruise). Ours does not go to CC but I'm thinking my requests will be:
Palo brunch, Palo dinner, pillow menu, drink requests for our room fridge, private table (but it's my understanding concierge guests automatically get that??) and dining rotation.

As for the teacup table, we had it last year on the Fantasy and loved it but we were two adults and 2 kids (who were 6&8 at the time) so it wasn't too squishy; four adults I think would be very tight.

That’s also my take on them but, from previous threads, a few people here really like them.

We had the teacup table on the Dream, but were thankful for a regular booth/table on the Fantasy. We only had it for 1 night, and I remember it being funky, and awkward, but neither DH or I could remember why we weren't big fans of the teacup table. We couldn't remember the specifics of why, only that they felt odd to us.

I have always wanted to sit at one of the teacup tables. I hope that we can request one of those with concierge!

Dumb question...but what do you mean by a Shutters photo time?

The teacup tables are very pretty...but not practical if you are a family of 4 ..unless the kids in your party are really little and the adults do not have long legs. :)
Now, if you are a party of 2..they are cool.

Maybe a specific table type for dinners. When we traveled Dream concierge we had a Teacup Table at Enchanted Garden and a table right near the screens at Animator’s Palace. In our case, we didn’t request those in advance, just lucked out....but you could probably make a request along those lines.

I request specific table number and rotation, got it every time.

My requests when in concierge were pretty basic I thought, but were a total fail on concierge staff. I wanted to do a on-board booking for a future cruise and I wanted a lounge chair on my expanded deck. I was told no to the lounger and I was given a time for the on-board agent to meet with me but the staff never arranged it so I had to sit in the concierge lounge while they tried to get someone up there to meet with me. Never knew there was a pillow menu nor did we have robes/slippers in our cabin. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary on that trip. It was one of the least memorable trips unfortunately.

We have always had the robes and slippers in the closets. The pillow menu was either a sheet placed on our bed or on one of the documents we got. In fact, after using the Iso Cool pillows, I bought some for home.

We are a family of 3 (2 adults, 1 10 year old) and had a teacup table on the Fantasy about 2 weeks ago (which we requested through concierge). We enjoyed it, but we are a small group!

We had the pillow menu on the March 17 Fantasy sailing, so I guess it's hit or miss if they place it in your room or not. We got the snore-reducer, memory foam and ISO pillows and everyone liked them!

We celebrated our 30th anniversary with a concierge cruise. We are were also denied an extra lounger on our verandah. They apologized profusely, but the officer in charge said no. We were ok with that. We did have robes and slippers and a pillow menu. It was a great trip. I'm sorry it did not work out so well for you.
That seems odd that they would deny the lounge chair. My wife and I have cruised in an extended veranda stateroom on the Fantasy a couple of times. The first time there were a pair of lounge chairs there. The last time, there were no lounge chairs. We asked our stateroom host, and he arranged to have the chairs replaced. This was in regular, non-concierge room.

To me, requests are about asking for what you want. Asking for ideas on things to request seems like you’re requesting just for the sake of requesting. :)

We asked for Palo and a cabana. And they didn’t get my email lol. Luckily I stayed up that night and got them both on my own. Wrote to say “never mind I got them”, and when I sent that in THAT is when they saw my original email.

Helpful hint; when their system gets your email there’s an auto reply generated. If you don’t get that auto reply, your message wasn’t received.

Lol, I like neither of those. Teacup table wasn’t fun for us, and I’d rather sit away from the screen and watch others. The broader view is good for us.

On our last sailing, we needed to get off the ship as early as possible. We carried our own luggage off and did express walk-off. Instead of standing in the very long line in the lobby, we were escorted down by a concierge CM (in a private elevator) and placed in a cordoned off area right in front of the doors so, as soon as the ship was cleared, we were the first group off the boat. You can also be escorted directly to the tenders if you have a stop that requires them (like Grand Cayman).

The disembarkation day concierge escort is normal, I believe.

For us it made us leave earlier than we wanted to. We were in no hurry and were happy to just chill.

Not to hijack the thread, but do you recall what dinner menus you had on your sailing? We’re thinking we’ll do dinner at Cabanas one night and I’d like to plan ahead. I didn’t think SWDAS sailings had the Pirates menu, but I’m seeing conflicting info. Thanks.

Can you order gifts to be delivered to your stateroom before you get onboard? I know there are the regular Disney Floral items, I’m talking about ship and destination-specific ones from the gift shops, like Alaska Mickey plushes.

As far as I know only what is available under Gifts and Amenities.

Does anyone know if the robes can be ordered in Big man sizes or are they the one size fits all kind?

The robes and bedroom slippers come in various sizes. Once we were in our room I asked the room host to switch out the medium robes for larges and ex-larges. I am thin but tall, my spouse is tall and normal weight for his height...

Concierge escort is normal, however, if you want to do express walk-off (with your own luggage) and get in front of the express walk-off line, you have to alert the concierge staff and be in the lounge by 7 am. The only reason I bring it up on this thread is, it is not advertised, nor do they provide disembarkation instructions beyond normal express walk-off and MDR breakfasts in the documents in your stateroom. It's one of those situations where, if you don't ask, you won't know about it and I want to make sure others know they do not need to get down to the lobby at 7 am or earlier to do express walk-off. Speak with a concierge CM for anything and everything that may come up during your cruise - they will find a way to help you. On our last cruise (two weeks ago), a guest services CM was helping the CM staff in the CL lounge on the day of embarkation (trying to get people settled in with their packets and reservations in a timely manner). When I asked her about express walk-off, she told me we had to go to the lobby with the masses (in other words, she, herself, had no idea what the concierge procedure was). I won't make the mistake of asking anyone but a concierge CM ever again.

We were also denied a request for loungers on the Fantasy concierge. We were advised it was a safety issue. Weird since friends had them in a 5E

If I had to guess: should a lounger be thrown/blown off a 5E, they are almost certainly going striaght into the water. Coming off a concierge cabin on the side or forward portion of the ship, they are more likely to hit the ship before landing in the water. There is also the possibility, depending on the circumstances, it could wind up hitting someone on one of the open decks.

Sorry to hjack this but we go on the Fantasy in 9 days and will be in concierge. I read that there are board games available in the lounge. Anyone remember what those games might be? Also I read somewhere that there are sometimes smoothies available in the lounge. Anybody remember what time of day that might be. (I realize that these are so not important questions but getting excited and anxious. :) )

I very much appreciated being able to request a specific soda (coke zero) being in our fridge for the trip. I asked for that ahead of time and it was right there waiting on me when we got into our room.
