Reading through the other post, I noticed quite a few had Denver on you lists. I will be there with just DH for two weeks and will have evenings and the weekend to fill. Please share your favorite places to eat and things to do in Denver. Thanks.

For the weekend, I would definitely do some sight seeing. One of Rocky Mountain National Park, Mount Evans/Loveland Pass (Black Hawk if you like casinos), Pikes Peak/Garden of the Gods would be nice places to go for the weekend and not too far. Can't help too much with Denver itself. Haven't done much in the city (baseball/hockey games, and the 16th street mall area is about it).

Snooze for breakfast/brunch.It's in Union Station. Many restaurants in Larimer Square.Use the 16th street shuttle-it's free and you can hop on and off.Boulder is a quick bus ride, and is fun to walk around.

Osteria Marco in Larimer Square and Appaloosa Grill on 16th Street for good eats.
Will you have a car at your disposal during your trip?

We are planning on it but will walk and use public transportation also if that works better. We live abroad so I feel out of touch with how life moves in the US.

Yeah, if you are staying downtown then a car would be a nuisance. Walking and public transit for downtown would be best. But for weekends if you want to get out of town, there are so many pretty places to go, and a car would be necessary. You can drive up Mt. Evans, the highest paved road in the U.S. and have a great view of everything. Going down to Colorado Springs for the day could be fun. If you like German food, you *must* eat at Edelweiss. Tour the Olympic Training Center, drive through Garden of the Gods, tour the US Air Force Academy, drive up Pikes Peak. If you like to hike, then you're in luck. Head in any direction from Denver for great hiking!
