Welcome to the Not So New November Exercise Challenge! This month we'll explore some oldies but goodies that are still around WDW.

If you’re returning, we’re excited to have you back! If you’re new, welcome to the team! Here’s how it works: you choose a time goal and then post minutes toward that goal as you exercise. (You can post daily or catch up when you can.) You decide what movement counts towards your goal, which can be a set monthly number or calculated based on a target number of minutes per day.

Since November has 30 days, here are some common conversions:

10 minutes/day = 300
15 minutes/day = 450
20 minutes/day = 600
30 minutes/day = 900
45 minutes/day = 1350
1 hour/day = 1800

One of the special motivations of our Disney challenge is color changing! Page one will be updated with individual and team color changes as we make more and more progress. This month, we have:

Contemporary Blue 10%
Polynesian Orange 25%
Fort Wilderness Brown 33%
Animal Kingdom Purple 50%
Epcot Grey 75%
Hollywood Studios Red 90%
Magic Kingdom Green 100%

*-
We’re officially starting this challenge on November 1, but if you don’t find this thread until later in the month, you’re still welcome to join!! Just post your goal and I’ll add you to the list. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions, and check out old threads to see what’s been going on.

I would like to average 30 minutes of walking a day/per week. :)
On Sunday, November 13th, I will be walking the Avengers Half Marathon in Disneyland, but after the marathon...I want to make sure I still have the motivation to get out and walk.

Congrats to Saphire5742 for being the first team member to reach Contemporary Blue! Only 2 days in and you're off to a great start!

I chose the Contemporary Resort for our Not So New series because it is one of the original WDW resorts. Construction began on the Contemporary in February of 1971, and it opened less than a year later on October 1, 1971. According to Disney Parks Blog (https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/b...-disneys-contemporary-and-polynesian-resorts/), the actual guest rooms were built assembly line style away from the work site at a rate of 40 per week. Each unit was a free standing unit with all the necessities and "groovy decor". Here is a photo of one of the units being installed:

And here is a shot of the groovy decor as it would have looked back in Oct 1971:

Does anyone have photos of their stay at the Contemporary from the resort's earlier years? If so, please share!

I'm going to hop on and do 600 since we leave to Texas for our Merrytime Cruise the end of November!! Yay!!
1-30 min bike
2- 30 min bike 15 min cardio
3- 30 min bike 20 min cardio

125/600

Please put me down for 2500 minutes.

So far I've done 510 minutes this month.

510/2500

Also, I'm Twilight's daughter, and we sometimes forget to log out and log back in on the computer. If you see us post wrong minutes under different user names, that's why. But we'll fix it when we notice.
