good morning everyone. my son (6) wife and I are 2 weeks from our cruise. Our Itineraries for our cruise due to the destruction of some islands. WE are now going to Nassau Bahamas, Costa Maya and Cozumel. Can anyone tell me good excursions to do at these destinations. We have never been to the Caribbean Please help

I've only been to Nassau once and Cozumel twice, so here's what I did there.

For Nassau if you're looking for a private beach take a look at the Colonial Hilton (google nassau colonial hilton day pass). It's about a 10 minute walk from the pier, you get a food credit with your day pass and your son should love it there. There are also some tours and, of course, Atlantis. Public beach is a bit further past the Hilton. My brother went there and thought it was fine.

In Cozumel, I really liked the Tulum tour, but that might be a bit much for a 6yo. Second time around, we were going to go to a nearby resort, but it rained hard all day so we stayed on board the ship. Kind of a lost day, to be honest, as the ship interior was crowded and there wasn't that much to do seeing as it was supposed to be a land day.

Hi - RCI has a great excursion in Cozumel - Save a Turtle. We did this when my daughter was 6 and she loved it. We booked this through RCI because it was not offered anyway else at the time. http://www.royalcaribbean.com/shore...horexByPort&ProductCode=CZT1&DestinationCode=

Another time in Cozumel we did the dolphin push/pull with RCI. We did this through RCI because it was just my daughter and me traveling and it was convenient. (You can do it on your own.) It was a lot of fun - we enjoyed the beach, spent some time with the manatees, and saw the sea lion show. http://www.royalcaribbean.com/shore...w.do?sourcePage=shorexByPort&ProductCode=CZ79

And yet another time in Cozumel we took a taxi and spent the day at Paradise Beach. It was a great day. The pool is gorgeous - the biggest in Cozumel. The food at the poolside restaurant was excellent. And of course, the beach is beautiful.

We've been to the Bahamas a lot. We've done Frommer's walking tour, gotten the Hilton Day Pass a few times (nice pool, good food and great view of the ships from the beach) and did the dolphin encounter on Blue Lagoon. We loved the boat ride over and back. We didn't have much time on the island other than the dolphin encounter. The Cozumel dolphin experience was better but you can do the beach at Blue Lagoon if you want. I think that would be a nice day.

In Costa Maya we did the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins tour with Native Choice - excellent company. We booked this directly with Native Choice. My daughter was only around 4-5. There were 2 other couples each with a child in our van - all under 8. Native Choice knows how to engage the kids. Once we got to the ruins there was plenty of open space to enjoy, steps to climb, and monkeys in the trees.

It all depends what you'd like to do. Let me know if you have any questions or want additional information. We love the Oasis class ships!

This is very easy to do on your own. https://www.dolphindiscovery.com/cozumel/dolphins-swimming-deals.asp. Even if you don't want to do the dolphins, Chankanaab (where Dolphin Discovery is located) has a lot of stuff. http://www.cozumelparks.com/eng/chankanaab.cfm

I haven't researched recently, but I think there's also a beach that's basically an "all inclusive" for a day. They only take 130 people so it's not crowded. I looked it up, it's Nachi Cocom (http://www.cozumelnachicocom.com/). I haven't been there, but I've heard good things about it.

How much did you like the Chacchoben ruins? I’m torn

We enjoyed the day. Our guide was really good so that helped. My daughter didn't get bored because there were plenty of steps to climb and open woodsy area to explore. We visited when Costa Maya had just opened as a cruise stop so there was very little at the cruise terminal and not much in the way of excursions. If you're torn you may want to check into something else. Native Choice has other excursions. Their Blue Lagoon looks really nice.

A lot of people frown upon it, but we did the Atlantis tour in Nassau and enjoyed it. How long do you have in Nassau? When we did the Oasis back in April, we were only there from 8am-2pm I think, so our time was brief. We did not want to pay $100+ for the Atlantis water park pass, so we opted for the guided tour so we could see the property. Without any kind of day pass, you are not permitted to enter the property except for the casino I believe so this tour was the cheapest way for us to see the property. The tour we did was very informative, we saw most of the property, and had time at the end of the tour to walk around and grab a bite to eat at our leisure.

This is what we did in Nassau a few months ago. Really enjoyed it; I'll add that 10 minute walk would be a leisurely pace; I was going to say about 5 minutes once you pass thru the Customs building. I'll add that its an easy walk as well - you just walk past Senor Frogs and keep going. I've seen the price lately as $79 with a $40 food/drink credit per person, but I thought it was a little less than that. Still *way* less expensive than Atlantis...

Just got off Oasis on Sunday...

In Cozumel there is a private beach club called Nachi Cocom. It restricts access to 130 guests per day. It has a lovely beach with palapas (thatched roof umbrellas), pool with hot tub, includes a nice lunch and drinks all day. It costs $55/person.

Our family was on the Oasis last year and we really liked Nachi Cocom, the fact that they restrict the number of guests is great so there is plenty of room in the water, lots of beach chairs and the food included was really good!

I know this is a little late and you are likely gone already but I would stay on the empty ship in Nausea. I would take a cab to Paradise Beach in Cozumel and I would do the water park in Costa Maya. We spent 4 days in Cozumel during the Hurricane and Paradise Beach is a GREAT deal for a sea day. The Water Park in Costa Maya is one of my kids favorite shore days ever!!
