OFFICIAL 2018 Christmas & Holiday Time at DLR Superthread!!

We are returning for our third holiday season at DL this year. Staying at the Indigo between Dec 6th - 13th.

Trying to decide whether to get AP’s again so we can visit again in June/July or whenever Galaxy's Edge will hopefully be opening. We are supposed to be moving house next year though so trying to justify the expense when we already have WDW booked for next December as well is hard.

Really hoping the Buena Vista Community Bell Ringers come back this year, I missed them last year. Although the Toy Drummers were brilliant as well.

Looking forward to sharing tips and getting to know you all over the next few months :santa:

We're driving down from the Bay Area on 12/15 (maybe late 12/14?) and going to Universal on the 15th, then at Disneyland from 12/16-19, staying at the Anaheim Hotel. The plan is to upgrade our tickets to Signature AP's while there, so I really hope Disney doesn't change the plan too much or raise the prices out of our limit. :scared:

That is our worry too. We are going the 9-15 and planning on getting the Deluxe AP. Hoping they dont black out too many dates for us after July so it isn't worth it to us to do it. We could do the signature down the road I suppose but hoping that we won't have to. We live in AZ so we can't go too often (about every 3 month-4 months).

We are staying at the Anaheim hotel in November! Have you stayed there before? I follow a Facebook page called Disneyland with kids, and the owner of the group helps promote get away today and she had a good review there and the price was really good so I booked it.

All- I’ll be adding more names and trip dates to our list above! Woo hoo!

I wanted to come in and say that a few little Christmas details are starting to pop up. Disneyland daily posted pictures on Facebook of some new merchandise in the castle Christmas shoppe in the park! Woo! 131 days to go for us!

So what is bringing everyone to Disney for the holidays?! We went last year over Christmas break and I fell in love. I’m turning 30 in November so it’s a kids free trip for my 30th!

We've stayed there three or four times when it was the Anaheim Plaza. The first time was great, the second time I swore we'd never stay there again, then the price was right. Haha! The issues we had were water pressure and water temperature fluctuations while showering and rude/indifferent staff when we mentioned it to them. Thankfully that was the only stay we had that happen, but it was a few years before we chanced it again. It's probably been 7 or 8 years since that trip. We booked this trip through Get Away Today and again, the price was right.

Christmas is my favorite time to go, so this is pretty much an annual trip. Some years we go more often, but if we can only go once, I definitely prefer the holidays! Enjoy your trip!

We are going Dec. 9-14 and renting points for a studio at GCH. My daughter and I tagged along last December with son-in-law"s work convention in Long Beach and visited DL 2-3 days for the 1st time. We have visited WDW more than 25 times and underestimated the time needed or wanted to explore DL/DCA. We also had a 2 yr old grandson who SLOWED us up! This year myself, husband and 2 grown daughters are going and we plan on riding and seeing everything possible in 4 days. We are super excited !!!

We will be there November 30th - December 4th at the Grand Californian. I will be attending a large pharmacy meeting (15-20,000 people) at the convention center....

We will be there nov28-dec6. Probably in parks on the 29,30, 2nd, 3rd and 5th. Staying at staybridge suites. Super excited!! Does anyone have an idea of how the rest of the park is when the candlelight processional is happening? Does it make the whole park busy or just the area where it is held?

Did anyone see the Christmas merchandise preview they had yesterday? Some beautiful things!

I am totally in love with the Dooney and Bourke. I’ve never bought one before and I don’t really see them in the shops in the parks, only the standard ones that always seem to be available. Do they sell out that quick or do you have to ask for them? What is the chances of one still being available when we arrive on the 6th?

We are visiting from the UK and go to Vegas first so I am tempted to just order one online and have it delivered to our Vegas hotel. Kinda wanted to buy it in the parks though...but don’t want to miss out!

I had to order online Black Friday last year and stayed up all night to do it!! I never actually saw them in the parks, so I would not wait until the 6th!

Thank you for your help! Was that the Christmas one you bought last year? Bit worried my Vegas hotel won’t hold it that long so worried it’s going to sell out as soon as they release at the beginning of November.

Driving my husband up the wall - have spoke about nothing else all weekend apart from the bag that I may purchase in 4 months time :rotfl2:

Hello everyone!

Just found this thread.

I was over at Mouse Planet today, reading the latest Disneyland update today. They mentioned that Disney will announce dates and details of the 2018 holiday season tomorrow, Tuesday, July 24. ( https://www.mouseplanet.com/12155/Disneyland_Resort_Update_for_July_2329_2018 )

Also, I had started a December Check-in Thread back in March. All are welcome to post their dates and hotels. I keep a running list in the first post.
