Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread

Does anyone know if I can have the chocolate covered strawberries done at AKL? We are celebrating my daughter's 18th birthday, but she doesn't really like cake too much. She would love the strawberries, though.

I have read through this thread, as much as possible and I could not find pics of any cakes ordered for Le Cellier. Has anyone had any experience ordering a cake there? I have seen many beautiful cakes that are covered in that shiny dark chocolate with fruit on top. Not sure what type of icing that is, looks yummy though. There are only four of us and I am also concerned about there being too much cake. If we dont special order a cake can we order a slice of the whiskey cake and have them write "Happy Anniversary" on the plate? :confused3 If anyone has any tips for ordering from Le Cellier I would really appreciate it. We are leaving in two weeks. :rolleyes1

A 6" replica of our top layer of our wedding cake last year. We had it served at an Illuminations dessert party I planned for Dh and I last week. The GF bakery made it...Almond cake with bailey's mousse just like our wedding cake. except on this one the giant choc castle was not there and the flowers on my wedding cake were real but otherwise it was beautiful lol!

Both of your cakes are beautiful. Thanks for sharing pics. :)

I'm especially interested in the Illuminations Dessert Party. Was it only the 2 of you. Where were you seated & what were you served? I'm hoping this wasn't an Illuminations cruise. ;) Will they only arrange it for people who've had a DFTW previously? We've always wanted to participate in an Illuminations Dessert party, but there's only 3 of us. The only way I know how to book it is as a Grand Gathering. Obviously, we don't qualify. :( I would be thrilled, if I could somehow arrange it for our family. :cool1: One last question, how did you get a GF cake to Epcot? Sorry, for so many questions. I'd really appreciate the info. :goodvibes

Tarheelmjfan- It was just a party for the 2 of us. We had an amazing location on the UK pubside patio. It was roped off. You do have to reach a min and there is an escort fee and location fee but really it is unforgettable and if you have the money I say go for it. Pm me if you need help setting it up or more info;)

Drdeb- thank you!

The Head Pastry Chef for the Yacht and Beach is awesome! All my cakes I have had either in room or at the Yachtsman have been unbelieveable.[/QUOTE]

Do you have pictures of any of these? We are celebrating our 10th anniversary & will be dining here on the last night of our trip. I would really like to have something special.

Has anyone ordered a cake from Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. We will be dining there in August for our anniversary.

I ordered a cake from Akershus last year (October). Having spent hours drooling over the cakes on this thread I had my list of specifications at the ready, however, they only did two options, plain cake with princesses or Mickey on the top. $25 plus tax without personalisation and $35 plus tax if personalised. We ordered the Princess cake with personalisation but were only charged $25 if we didn't take the dessert too. DH went for no dessert except cake option, wouldn't have been my choice but ..........:rotfl2:

Cake was very nice, vanilla sponge with fresh cream filling (more cream than cake IMHO - not that I'm complaining). Screen print type picture, they boxed it up for us at the end of the meal.

Still waiting on an answer about the new restaurant the Wave at the Contemporary. Anyone order a cake from there yet?

Gina

I know it has been covered a million times but I have to ask again, SORRY!

If I want to order the small, now available in 2 layers, cake with the castle topper where do I need to be dining to order this?

Also, where do I need to be dining to order the slipper dessert?

Thank you!

The small double layer cake was at the GF restaurants (with a rumor or a boardwalk restaurant)
The slipper is GF restaurants too or Castle meals.

Try the phone number for GF private dining for the GF meals and call the cake hotline for the castle

Thanks! Now I just have to decide which one we should have when we are at Narcoossee's. Guess I'll have to figure out which one Larry would love more without letting him know why I'm asking.

I am going to be dining at 1900 Park Fare and I wanted to order the mini castle cake that is $25 as mentioned on the first page and I saw a picture of it on the first page two, I have a couple of questions:

1. Does the white chocolate castle pictured on top of the cake included in the $25 or is it extra?

2. Can I get a vanilla cake with chocolate mousse on the inside or is it just a cake with no filling?

2. I have heard people mentioning about a two layer castle cake?? What is this and if it is different from the mini castle cake, what is different?

Thanks for any help!!

Here are a few photos of the anniversary cake that our son ordered for us from the Boardwalk Bakery in early May, 2008. The cake is a white cake with white chocolate mousse filling and butter-cream icing. The Mickey on top was white chocolate and painted by the folks at the Bakery. Just click on the photo for a larger image! :)

We got this cake last month - although from the options they gave me I didn't know it was going to have delicious almond crusty things on the outside! It was SO yummy! We had the option of anything we wanted on top but went with the Princesses since that was my daughter's wish and it was her Make a Wish trip. None of us wanted to leave this cake behind it was so very good but we were so stuffed from breakfast. Still, we all squeezed a LOT in :rotfl2:

They wouldn't hold it for us in the fridge (the chef came out himself and said the staff would probably eat it!!) but they did say they would offer us a free 6" cake if we came back later in the day!! Sadly, we couldn't make it back in time to get the cake :(

Sorry for the bad pictures! Our cake says, "Have a magical wish trip Bella"

Can I ask, how much was it and did you pick it up at the bakery?

I will respond to this one as I am 3D Disney's son who purchased it. The entire package came to $90.00. The cake was $50.00 and the Mickey was $40.00 as I recall, and yes, I did go to the Bakery to pick it up. We were staying at the Swan so it was only a short walk over to get it. :)

Hi! This thread is great. Im sure this has been asked, but this thread is so big i'm trying to look through it.

Has anyone had expirence in ordering a cake to be delivered to your room in the POLY? We will be there in December for our honeymoon and I would like to order one.

Also if anyone knows what kind of options they have there, that would be great!

Thank you!

I was going to reply to 3D Disney to tell her what a great son he/she has, but I'll just tell you. ;) You rock as a son! :teeth: That's a beautiful cake!
