Just found this thread! So excited for our upcoming December trip. Going December 8-16 for my 24th birthday which is on the 8th, and that night we are attending the MVMCP. Got all our ADR's we were wanting when our date opened for booking. Although we are flying out a day earlier ($700 cheaper) and staying a night before our package(still saving $500). On our flight day we are actually planning on visiting the Character Warehouse (first time visiting the store) and get some souvinir shopping out of the way.

Thanks! We have done the drive before so it isn't new, but 1500 miles one way is long! But with prices for flights being around $3500 for the 5 of us we will take the long drive!

I wish you could buy a package dessert tour and it took you around to all the resorts with major decorations. That's an idea!

Is it frowned upon to book BOG dinner and only have dessert for the sole purpose of eating there and seeing the BEAST?

I've known people that only went to buy a straw...so it runs the gamut on what people will do. You guys are at least going in, sitting down and eating. The straw thing bothers me because they are taking up a reservation for x amount of people and in reality that table is free

Two questions:
1. Does anyone know why Animal Kingdom shows it closes at 7pm (everyday the week of Dec 8 - 16), but the Rivers of Light show is supposed to be at 9:15pm?

2. Does the Rivers of Light show happen ever night in December, or alternate nights?

This seems to happen every single year, where they put 7 and extend the hours a few weeks out for Animal Kingdom. I am hoping that's the case here again!

This is exactly what we do for Christmas time, on a non-park day. We make it a pool morning and then we head out in the afternoon when the monorail isn't so crowded. We do drinks and desserts around the monorail resorts. We stay at the Contemporary and then board the monorail and do a drink and or dessert for the family to share at each monorail resort. The husband and I get cocktails and then the kids can get specialty drinks. We wander the resort taking in all the awesomeness and take photos. When the monorail gets us back to the Contemporary it is where we usually hang out once again for a few hours and then dress for dinner and take our car to the Wilderness Lodge (THE BEST BEST BEST Christmas themed resort) and look around there but we also have our dinner reservations there for WCC!! We love this day the most of our trip and then end the night over at Winter Summerland Mini Golf!

Got my reservations for Candlelight Processional Package! We'll go on the 8th IF Whoopi is confirmed, since my mom adores her, the 16th to see Trace Adkins and I have a crazy plan to try and go on the 18th to see Neil Patrick Harris for his first show and then hurry to the airport to catch our 11:33pm flight!

Hello fellow December Disney Travelers! I’m just curious if any of you have been able to book the dessert party at MK for a non MVMCP night? I looked at my 180 window and it said none available, it didn’t concern me too much as I know sometimes the dessert parties are released later. But since the MVMCP dessert parties are open and candlelight opening this morning, I’m wondering if perhaps they “regular” dessert parties are open but sold out. Thanks!

No. They will still do everything like normal that is prior to 6pm. After that if you don't have a ticket you will have to leave the park. They will only do Hapily Ever After fireworks on non-party nights.

We have never been during the holidays so very excited. Planning on focusing on holiday stuff (touring monorail resorts, Epcot resorts and WL; Disney Springs tree display - if they do it again; worldshowcase storytellers)

Lucky you for Trace Adkins! I was so incredibly bummed that we are on the DCL for his dates and then my husband had to shake his head and just say 'seriously?!?! You are on a Disney Cruise, I don't think you will be suffering!!' Hahaha!

I have a question regarding coordinating a reservation that's going to be canceled. For those that have done it, can you tell me approximately how quickly it appeared from the scheduled time the person said they would drop it? One minute? Two? Ten? Going to attempt this and I'm very afraid somehow I won't get it.
