Wow! With the announcement on the Disney Blog 9/12/14, it sure sounds like WDW is going to be getting much cooler!

See Disney Blog Post http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2014/09/frozen-attraction-coming-to-epcot/
"We’re extending some favorite elements of Frozen Summer Fun LIVE!, too, so that guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios can continue singing along to “Frozen” songs with Queen Elsa and Princess Anna. Wandering Oaken’s will set up shop closer to the show through the holiday season and will feature a larger play area with real snow (in Florida!).

From the moment we screened the film several months before its release, we were inspired by the possibility of bringing this great story to life for our guests. Frozen Summer Fun LIVE! has been extremely popular, and now we’re looking forward to doing even more to allow our guests to experience the “Frozen” phenomenon"

***Frozen Summer Fun Extended!! Runs until Sept 28***

Exceptions: The Premium Package and Fireworks will only run on weekends after Labor Day. (September 5 - 7; September 12 - 14; September 19 - 21; and September 26 - 28, 2014.)

Something for everyone to keep in mind is that, for the duration of this event, TSMM, One Man's Dream and Legend of Capt. Jack Sparrow will close at 8:30pm because of safety issues with fireworks fall out.
Also Great Movie Ride will close at 8pm. On this I'm not completely sure but I think they re-open GMR faster than TSMM because there's less fireworks fall out.
On days that the park closes at 10pm they will not re open.
When the park closes later TSMM and Jack Sparrow will most likely open around 10:20pm to 10:30pm

Itinkso-The giant Sorcerer Mickey Hat on Hollywood Blvd. gets the full Frozen treatment with special projections of snow and ice images, in an eye-popping spectacular above Hollywood Blvd. Set to the film’s soundtrack, the fireworks show will feature special guests – including a very magical appearance from Elsa in which she will show how her powers flurry “through the air and to the ground” to produce magically icy blue and white gleaming fireworks.

Disney's FP+ will NOT be available for Frozen Summer Fun.
Starting Sept 2, Disney FP+ is now available for The First Time in Forever: A "Frozen" Sing-Along Celebration

Anna and Elsa will NOT be available for M&G during Frozen Summer Fun. They will be available for M&G at Fairytale Hall in the MK. Advance FP+ reservations are strongly recommended.

Fantasmic is presently nightly at 8:30pm (check Times Guides for official times.)
-Tip from Itinkso
And one Fantasmic tip: Just as with SWW, it is best to plan on attending the 2nd Fantasmic in order to have the best view of the fireworks beforehand.
-Tip from speedo
I went to the star wars weekends twice and both times I went to the 9:00 fantasmic followed by the 9:45 fireworks with no problem. When fantasmic lets out stick to the left and follow the crowds towards the far left exit going by the Ursula and witch sections. This exit takes you along a path that leads toward the main exit at the front of the park. They will be directing people to exit the park. However both times I separated from the exiting crowd to find a spot to stand in the street. Both times I was there in plenty of time (5-10 minutes) before the fireworks started. And one night fantasmic started late due to weather and I still got there before the fireworks started.

The beginning of the street looking toward the hat is actually a great place to view the fireworks. It is actually a really great view of the fireworks.

One caveat I was only with adults so we could walk pretty fast even through the crowd. But even with youngsters in tow I think you should be able to catch most of the fireworks display.
Another DISer reported that with children the first show then fireworks may not work well. Their children weren't able to see the fireworks with all the people.

The Frozen Summer Fun Premium Package: This was discontinued 9/29/14.

***Dates extended weekends thru Sept 28***
-September 5 - 7; September 12 - 14; September 19 - 21; and September 26 - 28, 2014.
-Adult price has increased to $69, child price remains $39

"The Frozen Summer Fun Premium Package, available daily from July 5 – September 1, 2014 (with the exception of August 23), will offer guests reserved viewing for three of the park’s most anticipated new experiences. This package is a great way to see Princess Anna and Queen Elsa. Guests who book the package will check in at Min and Bills Dockside Diner starting at 10:30 a.m., then enjoy refreshments and reserved viewing for Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome procession at 11:00 a.m. Later on, they’ll experience reserved seating at one showing of For the First Time In Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, which takes place between 12:30-7 p.m. The evening will end from 8:30 – 10PM with an exclusive dessert party in a reserved area for viewing of the nighttime Frozen fireworks spectacular. (Note: Anna and Elsa’s Royal Welcome procession and the dessert party offers a reserved viewing area, no seating is available. Wheelchairs and ECVs will be accommodated).

We shared a table with others.
-In event of rain, the parade may be cancelled. There is no alternate for this. However, in the event of rain for the dessert portion of the package, it will be moved to the Disney Jr. buildng.

Here's my first DHS fireworks viewing map attempt…
Anyone with input, please let me know.

I've made a map that indicates where to view the DHS Frozen Fireworks from outside DHS.

Better views are along the (purple) pathway inside the area that I shaded in green on the map below.

The bottom green arrow points to the approximate spot
where the "outside-the-park" fireworks on THIS WDWMagic video (@ approx. 6:30) were shot.

This is the queue for the Premiere Theater. The queue is across the street from the theater in the extended Muppet's queue that is no longer used by Muppet Vision. The street traffic will be blocked to allow guests entry in to the theater.

Great job, lovethattink!!

Here is the inside the magic blurb regarding the Hat Projection show to add to the fireworks description:

The giant Sorcerer Mickey Hat on Hollywood Blvd. gets the full Frozen treatment with special projections of snow and ice images, in an eye-popping spectacular above Hollywood Blvd. Set to the film’s soundtrack, the fireworks show will feature special guests – including a very magical appearance from Elsa in which she will show how her powers flurry “through the air and to the ground” to produce magically icy blue and white gleaming fireworks.

We'll be there during our last week of August vacation :)

Welcome! Looks like a popular week to be there.

We'll be there the end of August. Really looking forward to this!

Welcome! Me too!

We are leaving in 6 days!! I'm so excited - thanks for the tips. Subscribing!

Welcome! Please report back with your experience and any tips you have.

I'll be there July 5th. It will be interesting to hear how park entry goes. It's an EMH morning. I'll be an offsite guest so no EMH for me. I'm a "local".

For SWW, the park opened each day before official rope drop time. I wonder if this will be the case with Frozen Summer Fun?

Welcome! From your signature, it looks like you have an awesome vacation planned; Trade Winds, Universal and Disney!

I have two boys. My oldest thinks it's great for Disney to add this, but if he misses it he won't be upset. My youngest loves Kristoff and Sven and he is so happy to see Kristoff added to the line up! He loves theater and singing so he is very excited about the sing-along. He wants to dress like Kristoff, disneybounding style. We have a few days to work on that! Missyrose gave us some great ideas! But he is mostly excited for the activities inside Soundstage 1.

Insidethemagic.net keeps updating their post... here is the latest that sounds like it's the Aurasma app which was quite fun at SWW:

Guests can take pictures with the film’s animated characters in a virtual setting, and then email them or share on their social media channels.

My 14yo son is being dragged along too!!

The only guy on our otherwise all girls trip! ;)

Welcome!

That would be very cool if they did "Frozen" pictures with the Aurasma app.

Just when I was getting sad that our SWW thread was winding down- now I'm seeing similar posters here- yay!!! Time to start developing a new plan of attack for DHS for our mid/late July trip. Thanks lovethattink!!!

Are the fireworks part of Fantasmic?

No, they are shot off from behind the Hat @ 9:45. If someone attends the 1st Fantasmic, by the time they look for a spot for fireworks, there won't be anything available.

The blog said food and merchandise updates are soon to come. I wonder if there will be a Dessert Fireworks like there was for SWW? A frozen character meal would be pretty awesome too! One can wish. The dessert fireworks and the meals were huge successes during SWW.

Welcome! I know, right. This is exciting to have something so "cool" to look forward to.

I've been thinking about my plan of attack for July 5th. I expect it to be crazy busy and a bit unorganized since it's the first day. There are usually those first day kinks to work out.

I think we will try to catch the parade, but skip the stage welcome and head over to wait in line for the 12:30 show. Unless wrist bands are given out for the show and we have wristbands. Then I'd stay for the welcome before heading for lunch.

I'm expecting lines for the Trading Post similar to those of Darth's Mall. If I see they are too long, I'll try to go first thing in the morning another day or before it closes for fireworks in the evening.

Are the fireworks part of Fantasmic?

Welcome!

No, the fireworks are in addition! It's a totally separate show. You won't be able to view the fireworks from the Fantasmic area. The fireworks will be best viewed from Hollywood BLVD. Echo Lake is another good viewing spot if you don't mind trees in the way.

The characters will be on stage leading up to the fireworks. If you are right in front of the hat, you'll have a great view of the characters, but lousy view of the fireworks. The VIP section for the SWW fireworks was located by Min and Bill's. Back a bit from the hat will have the fireworks centered perfectly. I preferred being near 50's PTC at Echo Lake or in between the Idol screen and the hat for firework viewing. We sat on the ground at the latter spot because it was more comfortable for viewing. Standing gave a big kink in the neck.

If anyone hears of a handicap/wheelchair viewing section for the welcome or fireworks, please post it here. My 86 year old mother will be with us in a wheelchair. Judging by my experience on May the Fourth Be With You fireworks last year, I know both of those events will be like mosh-pits. I know my mom would like to see the welcome and the fireworks, but if people are standing all around her while she is stuck in a wheelchair, she won't get to see anything.
