Day 3

Wednesday 27 February

Last day :sad1:

We woke to another beautiful day and packed up our last bits in the room to check out. Bags dropped off at the luggage counter we were in the park for 9am I think. We were being picked up at the hotel at 11:30 so didn’t have much time this morning.

As sunny as it was, DH was feeling the chill in the morning air so he got a hat from the first shop we came too. Knowing he would be unlikely to wear it at home, he chose one that he knew our son Lewis would like.

Main St looks so nice in the sun.

And I never tire of seeing the castle...

Fantasyland was our first stop. Peter Pan already had a long wait time, as did Dumbo so the Teacups was our first ride of the day. Even this had a bit of a queue, only about 10 minutes but not what I’m used to from the old days of EMH.

We had fun on this and spent some time taking in the detail in Fantasyland. I noticed that Small World was open, as was Snow White.

The wishing well was next up on our way to Discoveryland.

Buzz was what we wanted to do. This again had a wait time of around 30 minutes so we didn’t bother.

I think it was around 9:45 at this time so we thought we’d try for rope drop for Big Thunder Mountain. Then I noticed that there wasn’t a rope….already a long queue outside BTM all the way back to the Lucky Nugget. Something else that’s changed. The Molly Brown was also running.

We decided to wait in the queue as it was almost 10am. The ride didn’t open until about 10.10 and by the time we actually got into the queue I could tell that it was going to go really slowly. I think there must have only been one platform running and I got a bit nervous that we’d be pushed for time if we stayed in the queue. Wondering how on earth we would get out we finally spotted an exit gate that took us out into the exit lane beside the photo booth. A bit of shame we didn’t manage to ride but we wanted to do some last minute shopping and still hadn’t had breakfast. Never mind, I’m sure we’ll be back again soon.

We wandered past pirates which wasn’t running and then took some time having a look around the castle.

I love that there's a balcony on the castle that overlooks Fantasyland

We made our way down Main St and said goodbye to the park for this trip.

Time to eat something before going to the airport so we knocked on the lovely Salon Mickey door.

P1010897 (640x480).jpg

It was busy inside, all the seats taken and some people standing too. We managed to grab a spot to put our drinks down and eat our muffins.

**I got a little annoyed in here at some of the other guests. One family was spread over two separate seating/table areas. They had finished eating, all their empty packets/drinks still on the table. 4 of the chairs were taken up by small children, watching ipads/phones. Including us, there were at least 5 people standing up eating and I just think it’s really rude to takeover an area without considering everyone else there. Fair enough if they were eating, but they’d clearly finished and were sitting chatting to people at another table and ignoring their kids.

Anyway, I still love this little perk and will continue to use it when I can. I’m so thankful it’s still here for ex-shareholders.

Soon it was time to head back to the hotel (oh the long walk, lol) and pick up our luggage. It was 11:15 and I just knew our driver would already be there early, and I was right, lol.

We were soon at CDG, through security/passport control and waiting on our flight. The time passed quickly enough and were soon home.

Final thoughts:
The Disneyland Hotel is still absolutely stunning  The lobby is so bright and makes me smile every time I walk in the door. Our room was beautiful and the hotel staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The location was perfect. We’ve been lucky enough to stay here twice before and I know that we won't be able to do it every trip, but it was lovely for our special treat.

The parks looked wonderful and the shows and characters around the park were lovely to see. We're not big into characters but I do like seeing them around the park and if the queues had been smaller we might have stopped for a few.

The weather really helped make this trip. Despite it being really busy, it was so nice just to wander around enjoying the sights without needing to think about getting out of the rain etc. We were so lucky.

We didn't do that much in terms of rides, but I think that's really because we've been so many times and just enjoy what we can manage to do.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new areas at Walt Disney Studios. In fact as I'm writing this I'm watching a youtube video about how they built and designed the Studios and it seems that the only thing that will be left that's original will be the flying carpets. I wish they still did the parade here. The Cinema Parade was really colourful and fun.

Overall we had another lovely time at Disneyland Paris and I'm sure we'll be back sometime soon again :goodvibes
