Oh yeah with their vacation packages. It's a hefty price for those packages though but could be well worth it for those visiting during peak times.

Otherwise you are racing to those FastPass machines, and let me tell you...they can run!!!!!

So I don’t really follow the friend said this on FB. However I’m going to post this anyway......In a FB group I’m in there was s post about a friend in WDW last week who spent $100 on 4 FPS last week. She said she kept telling her friend FPS were free, but the friend was insistent. She came to the group to ask and all verified that her friend was wrong and must have been at Universal or did EMM but with the threads here and her story it’s got me wondering if she was piloting the program.

was this the club level fps that can be purchased?

If they do pay as you go fps then it would be better just to attend the DAHs.

Personally I feel if it was in the public pilot testing we would see more reports by the average user. I am wondering if people reporting to see this "pilot" of buying posted on FB is the same person. As far as I've heard is the rumor was initially posted on WDWMagic forums with saying someone on FB said they bought many FP.

That’s definitely a possibility. She didn’t seem to know more. Like I said this lady could have been very confused and I don’t find FB reliable for anything. However, as it seems this thread is full of hypothetical ideas I thought I would share.

Haha. Honestly I was going to post the screen shot but I saw it yesterday morning and I am in so many Disney groups and I cannot find it to save my life. I didn’t think much about it. Then I read all 40 pages of the thread and it got me thinking. Definitely not reliable at all and nothing I would recount. But like I said as this thread has thrown around a bunch of hypotheticals thought I would add one.

We can do both parks for three days but I have heard people like having five days. Agree there is a cost for wdw to go to what I call the DL FP system and wdw will have to decide on that issue. The $15 a day does add up for a family and the DL system still has the option to grab FP from a kiosk.

DAHs would be much more desirable with pay as you go FPs. I haven’t followed how often these sell out, but I’d imagine they would always sell out if the changes are upwards of $25 per FP. But I guess it’s possible for any change in FP to make DAH events more popular. I truly miss the late EMHs during the summer, but don’t think I’d ever pay for a DAH unless I’m on a very short trip. A longer trip I would just fit in headliners at rope drop and park close.

Totally pie in the sky, onsite guests get 1 anytime FP+ for each attraction to be used sometime during their stay. After that one FP+ is used, the guest would need to make a same day FP+ to ride a ride again.

Off site guests would have to make FP+ selections like they do today.

There has to be some incentive for staying onsite. This is an extreme thought, but isn't that kind of what Universal does with it's deluxe resorts?

LOL - I'd love this but it's pie in the sky for sure!!! It's about 5x the FPs we get right now since we get 3 a day.

Unless you put hopping restrictions on that, it would just be opening up a whole new slew of issues with single night stays or throwaway rooms just to power through the headliners.

It's kind of how Tokyo Disney does it if booking a Vacation Package (DLP I think used to do this, 1-3 per day per stay depending on room level to unlimited for club level at certain resorts, but now they just sell something similar to the Express Pass). So I could see them including something like this as a vacation package (but for a small number of FastPass not every ride), but not sure about room only.

I could see something like this as being the way they give the advantage to those staying on property: If you book a package it includes some pre-bought FPs

I still think they need to have some controls - so maybe they are good for any ride but have to be prescheduled or something. Having people with a bunch of FPs that can be used on any attraction at anytime would go against the added crowd flow control they want

Not a chance. WAY too many onsite guests for that system to work at Disney.

Yeah you don't want everyone running over to FOP on their first day because they are excited. At that point FastPass loses it's main purpose of crowd control.
At DLP (when they did it) and Tokyo Disney you had only a certain number for top rides. Also Tokyo Disney includes shows (if you chose that package of the two, the other does not but includes extra Fastpass) which do have to be prescheduled.

As someone who understands refresh and knows how to use it, this would suit me just fine. Add to the number of people who dont know how to refresh. Personally, this is too simple and doesn't have a cost on it, so this could be lose but add a paid option like dl maxpass

As a shareholder, I am concerned that a company that peddles "good will" is risking its reputation for short term quarterly targets. In the 90's, Nike tarnished their corporate image with sweatshops that served the bottom line well at the cost of the brand image. It took years for Nike to recover.

As Disney continues to gobble up content creators/media outlets, and grow as a corporate behemoth; if the success of the parks does not anchor the organization through it's capital-hemorrhaging media growth phase; if people are turned off from perceived gouging at the parks and the legs upon which TWDC now stands is taken out from underneath it, as a shareholder I would be very worried. And worse, as a dad who is introducing his son to the "Disney Magic" the risk is real that they could lose a generation of Disney fans.

So yeah, there are logical reasons why a company chasing the bottom line should take stock occasionally. Good will has value. Disney knows that better than most companies

Congrats on that. I'm not an expert in much, outside of tomfoolery and strategizing. I can tell you have expertise in efficiency, because it's quicker to type just 'a' versus 'an'.

I would check out the FP+ FAQ in TPAS.

Cool. My personal best is 22 FP in one day. In MK. That included multiple 7DMT. I doubt that is anywhere close to a record though...
