Parking lot changes

I was talking with the neighbors last night about the tree trimming and new pet loop at FW and they said that Disney has also sectioned off a part of the big parking lot and had blocked off the road that goes in front of the kennel. He said that FW is insisting that anyone with any kind of trailer that will not fit on either the paved part of the campsite or the sand pad be left in the parking lot. He said it was a real pain to maneuver his class A into this area to drop off his golf cart trailer. All traffic now into or out of FW has to go passed the small guard shack at the front of the campground. You can no longer drive out the parking lot passed the kennel.

Yes this is correct, we were routed back by the front guard to go out. Not a big deal to us. I did notice some big rigs sitting there (only 3 or 4), I just thought they were too early to check in.

You know the bigger you get the more you have to accept a parking lot as your camping space. We know a few people that ended up going back to a smaller rig just because they were getting tired of not fitting into campsites and were being turned away and spending nights in parking lots. At least Disney has done something to accommodate these big rigs and not turn them away.

Just got back and the new parking lot BLOWS!!!
It is horrible and a MAJOR inconvenience (sp?)
If there is traffic at the gate, you'll wait 10 minutes to get in...
Luckily the people we were with ran thru the bus lane.

DISNEY NEEDS TO CHANGE THIS BACK IMMEDIATELY!!!

CamperStem, do you not use the entrance and exit with the arm and the pass key any longer, coming and going?

Yes, you still use the gated entrance but the only way to get to it is past the little guard shack at the main entrance. If there are other people there checking in for the first time the guard has to check IDs and make sure they are on his list. During peak check in time the line will back up and you have to wait your turn just to have him see your parking pass and wave you through into the parking lot where you can get to the gate your mentioned. It's not a huge deal but who wants to wait in another line at Disney.

The biggest inconvenience is people driving class As with trailers. After they get to the shack and then get checked in at the front desk they unload their trailer they have to go back out pasted the guard shack to the main road, Drive around to enter the other half of the parking lot they were already in, unhitch and secure their trailer, drive back out to the main road and get back in line again (if there is a line) at the little guard shack and then go through the keyed gate to get to there campsite. Then do it all over again when its time to leave.
