Hi there - we'll be cruising in February 2018 (traveling to Mexico, Grand Cayman, Jamaica and Castaway Cay) and my passport will expire in June 2018. Has anyone been in this position before? I have called every consulate and looked at every webpage (Jamaica's is contradictory). I am a Canadian citizen and I believe that my passport is good so long as it's valid for the duration of our stay in each country. Can't seem to get a firm answer from anyone, including Disney (although they have some information on their web page, but you have to dig). Have been on the Canadian consulate travel webpage and they confirm that I will be ok, but they also warn that anything can change at any time. Anyone....?

It's a valid passport, so I doubt there would be any problem. Caribbean islands typically don't require passports of cruise ship passengers, anyway. You leave the passport in the safe in your cabin, & just carry your Key to the World card and driver's license on the island.

DCL is the organization that will be checking your passport to allow initial boarding of the ship, so I would double-check directly with them.

Hi there - yes, I checked with Disney, but they don't know the specifics about the countries we visit (or if they do they are reluctant to provide direction because at any time it can change, so they want to cover their butts. Just wondering if anyone had been in the same boat (no pun intended).

The only wonkiness I can think of is that some countries won't let you in if the passport expires in less than 6 months (at least for American passports). I don't think the Caribbean islands are like that

That's true and that's what I'm trying to get confirmation on. Jamaica's web site does say that you need 6 months but then for Canadian citizens it says you only need a valid passport...a bit contradictory so that's why I contacted the consulate, but haven't heard anything. I believe the Caribbean countries only require your passport to be valid for the duration of your stay. Thanks!

But Disney is the only authority that will be checking your passport for travel into the Caribbean.

The question isn't really what Jamaica will allow, but what DCL will allow.
