Well, when actors are hired to do commercials, they are the literal faces of the company. They are who the public associates with the brand, which is why celebrity spokespeople are always in high demand for products. Naturally, the actors would be interviewed in this case. No one has ever interviewed the marketing team behind ads. Because no one cares about those people.
I'll be honest I don't really often see actors and actresses in a commercial interviewed about what the commercial means, how people should take it, etc etc.

Celebrity spokespeople are kinda a different thing. But your average, everyday person who acts in commercials or does other types of advertisements? Nah most people go with the company as to tell them what is up with an ad that didn't go over so well.

I even remember a few threads on the DIS about ads and I don't think people cared about the actual persons in the ad they cared about what the company was saying (or attempting to say) or trying to convey. I'd agree that it's not the marketing team it's the company themselves.

I can even think of t-shirts for example that have had questionable things on them. People certainly didn't track down those people or kids to figure out what was what. They blamed/questioned either the manufacturer and/or the retailer.

Exactly. I think it´s ok for her to comment on the very thing that was about her: the way she portrayed the wife in the ad. But I think it doesn´t make sense to go after her or the actor that played the husband and ask them about the backlash and the sexism and all. They weren´t the ones that created the commercial. I think it´s kinda weird that when stuff like this happen, they go after the actors. Yes, like DLgal said, you don´t see the marketing team getting interviewed about that, but shouldn´t they? They were the ones that made all the decisions regarding the ad, they are the ones that should be asked about it.

Okay, last, last post on the Peloton Wife: :lmao:

According to TMZ: She has now gotten a one day, guest spot on the Bold & The Beautiful, from all of this. They approached her directly and she snapped it up immediately. She filmed today. And depending on people's reaction to her when it airs in Jan, it may turn into a recurring role for her. So all this "negative" viral publicity ended up working in her favor again. :thumbsup2

TMZ noted that it hasn't worked out that way for her male co-star who played her husband. He hasn't been offered anything. They think it may be due to how Monica reacted with grace, whereas he reacted with whining & complaining. (I said that in a previous post.)

Good for her! I think she was very smart about all this, besides graceful. Hopefully her career will soar after this and she won´t be stuck doing stupid comercials lol
