I'll be honest I don't really often see actors and actresses in a commercial interviewed about what the commercial means, how people should take it, etc etc.Well, when actors are hired to do commercials, they are the literal faces of the company. They are who the public associates with the brand, which is why celebrity spokespeople are always in high demand for products. Naturally, the actors would be interviewed in this case. No one has ever interviewed the marketing team behind ads. Because no one cares about those people.
Celebrity spokespeople are kinda a different thing. But your average, everyday person who acts in commercials or does other types of advertisements? Nah most people go with the company as to tell them what is up with an ad that didn't go over so well.
I even remember a few threads on the DIS about ads and I don't think people cared about the actual persons in the ad they cared about what the company was saying (or attempting to say) or trying to convey. I'd agree that it's not the marketing team it's the company themselves.
I can even think of t-shirts for example that have had questionable things on them. People certainly didn't track down those people or kids to figure out what was what. They blamed/questioned either the manufacturer and/or the retailer.
