Pizzafari Family Style meal review

Just wanted to give a quick review of the family style dinner at Pizzafari. We had reservations for 5:05, we walking in right before 5. Get in line at the podium, this was a little confusing because it's not designated for just reservations.
We gave our name, and were escorted to the first register that is only for the family style dining. When you are at the register you can customize the meal. We chose to have a different dressing and only 1/2 pepperoni. We picked up our drinks, kids had Coke, which came in a larger then normal cup, DH and I had the orange lemonade w/ vodka (it was ok). We also got our salad and dressing packets, you can have ranch or Italian if you'd rather. We also got the tomatoes and mozz cheese at that window
We sat at our assigned table, which is kind of small for the amount of food that will be there. Rest of the meal came out about 10 minutes later. Baked ziti was good, but a little over cooked. Chicken alfredo was good, they didn't use a traditional flat noodle, more of a macaroni noodle. Pizza was very good, nice flavor, thicker crust, but better then their usual pizza. Canolli was ok, but I'm spoiled w/ having a true Italian bakery close by.
We were on the QSDP, so it was a really good value for us. I'd say in general if you have some big eaters this is a good value as well, since it includes all for $19.99 and we had food leftover. They did offer more of whatever we were out of.
Big plus was AC and knowing there was a seat waiting for us.

I am glad you had a good time and good food. I wonder if they have replaced the head cook there because we ate there in June and it is now the only place in WDW (5 trips) where I called the manager and asked for my money back. The food was bad so so bad.

Oh no, that's awful. The food wasn't 5 star, but was certainly good enough for the place it was. Most people around us seemed to enjoy their food as well

Well it sounds like they made some changes. I know Disney food is not 5 Star but when kids eat 2 bites and refuse to eat anymore I knew I had problems and to be honest the manager there was very nice and when he saw the huge amount of food sitting on the plates he refunded the credits.

Thanks for your review. I'm actually looking to book this for my family. We eat a lot of salad and it looks like it's such a small serving. When you say they offer more of whatever you were out of, was it included in the credits / price or was there an extra charge? I'd be willing to pay more for more salad, but we'd probably be ok with everything else. TIA

We didn't get anything extra, but it sounded like there wasn't an extra charge. I'd ask to make sure, but since the salad is probably the cheapest thing on that menu, I'd be surprised if they charged you, it's romaine, some croutons and dressing. I thought the bowel was pretty big

We did this last November. I thought the pizza was very good!

This was during the time of the romaine lettuce recall, so the salad wasn’t very good. The lettuce was very bitter. The caprese salad was very good though.

The pasta dishes were ok. I don’t remember them being super good or bad.

The canolli wasn’t very good. I don’t think any of us ate more than a bite.

I would definitely do this again. It was nice to have an ADR and be able to just sit and take a load off and not worry about fighting crowds.

We were planning to try this but there haven’t been any reservations offered after end of July. Will keep looking.

It's a weird ADR to get. I actually called to see if it was still being offered. For some reason it's not released at the same time other ADRs are

I just got an ADR only like 5 days ago for the end of July. You can’t find it if you just look at the whole list of restauraunts. I could only find it if you narrow down your search to only look for QSR dining plan restaurants. It popped up right at the top after I narrowed down the search.

Do you mind sharing which date? Still can’t get anything by phone or online after 27 July?

Ours is for Monday July 22nd. How many people in your party becuase I just checked myself with a party of 4 and 6 choosing dinner time on Saturday the 27th and 3 different times pop up. 5:40; 6:05; and 6:20. Now I could get anything for Saturday but nothing for Sunday through Tuesday. That seems odd to me, I wouldn’t think that a Monday or Tuesday would be more crowded than a Saturday so I wonder if they are only opening a few weeks at a time. Or perhaps this was a test run of it being QS. If I were you I would check once each week in case they are slowly opening spots. 🍕🍕🍕

Thanks for the review!

I’m hoping to piggyback with a question about using Quick Service Dining credits here.

We are a family a four with two young kids. With our kids generally being light eaters, our plan at most QS restaurants is to order 3 meals and share them among the four of us. Does anyone happen to know if this is possible to do at Pizzafari Family Style meal? I’m inclined to think they will probably charge us for four QS credits because it seems to closely resemble an AYCTE meal and the ADR will be booked for four people. And after all there will be four of us eating. On the other hand, I have read that guests are welcome to leave with leftovers, so maybe it’s not at all similar to AYCTE. Also, with (for example) BOG breakfast and lunch being QS and also requiring an ADR for the amount of people in our party, we have the option of ordering only 3 meals there.

If they charge us four QS credits we will still eat there, just trying to budget accordingly. TIA for any help answering my question.
