Arrive at Polynesian 3 weeks from today!
My question as its been 10 years since we stayed and I can't remember. When I was little they took you to rooms via golf cart. I believe that is gone - staying CL do they do that or do we just go to our room after we check in (is there separate CL checking).

Finally how has parking been lately?!

We were at Poly the week of 7/4. Had a rental car (although admittedly didn't drive that often) but when we did we had no issues parking. Read enough reports around the DIS and you'll inevitably read someone who did have trouble with a spot (usually in the evenings) but we've never had that experience (although again, more often than not our car stays put a good chunk of any given trip). Granted it was a holiday week, but we did witness quite active enforcement of non-Poly guest/ADR folks not being allowed to park. It actually created some backups at the gate, but I'd rather them be thorough and keep the lot clear for paying guests.

Anyway - with Poly CL, you have a couple of options, in my opinion. Poly typically does not have greeters out front like some other resorts/CLs, so you're more than likely on your own. You can 1) check-in in the Grand Ceremonial House and they will likely walk you over to the Hawaii building for the majority of the check-in process; or 2) just walk to the Hawaii building yourself. Your MB may/may not work to open the door to Hawaii at that point - if it doesn't just wave at the CMs at the desk and they'll let you in. There are CM desks right when you walk in that can take care of check-in.

Golf carts are not typically used for guests.

Hope that helps... have fun!

is the question/concern over getting your luggage to your room and not having to lug it all the way to the building? or are you just looking for a ride? :) if it's luggage, just pull into the front of GCH and have luggage services grab it and deliver it to your room.

when i've checked out of Poly in the past and was taking luggage to RAS, they had me ride on the golf cart with them

The last (and I guess only) time my family and I got a golf cart ride to our room upon check-in was 2014, we were staying at the Grand Floridian. We've stayed at the Poly twice now since then and haven't gotten a ride to our room as a family either time (we were CL one of those times). However-- when we were checking out last summer, DSis and I were the only two in the room when bell services came to retrieve our luggage, so they offered us a ride on the golf cart back to the GCH.

When we stayed CL, we were escorted from the front desk at GCH to Hawaii (CL building) with a personal CL CM. We walked over and he gave us a few fun facts about the resort before handing us off to the Concierge staff. There is a separate check-in process for CL-- it shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes and is full of loads of fun info, like what times the lounge will be serving snacks and such.

Hope that helps! Enjoy CL, the King Kamehameha Club is wonderful.

We stayed Club level at the Poly last January and we went directly to the Hawaii building to check in. However, I wish that we had checked in at the Great Ceremonial House first. We did not get a very kind welcome at the Hawaii building. Our magic bands worked letting us in and we told the CM behind the desk that we were checking in. He was not very friendly. He seemed confused and upset that we didn't check in at the GCH. He said that we were supposed to be escorted over and asked how we knew where our room was. I told him that I received the "Your room is ready" email with of all our room information. I was hoping to get leis and 1st visit buttons for the kids, but we didn't get any of that. He just shoved the paperwork in our hands and that was it. It was definitely not the welcome we were expecting and kind of put a damper on our first day. It felt like we had committed a major faux pas. It was probably just that particular CM though if no one else has had any trouble checking in directly at club level.

That stinks, you didn't get a particularity good CM given what you describe. You can get leis, buttons, and all the normal check-in stuff with the CL CMs. Plus they should have taken the time to go over paperwork, lounge hours, a brief description of their services, etc. I haven't actually stopped at the GCH in a few years and always go straight to Hawaii. On occasion I have been asked if I stopped at the front desk and I just say they line was too long. :-)

Sorry you had a bad experience.

Thanks. I'll remember that for the next time. I definitely don't think our experience was typical, the CM was probably just having a bad day.

It was for us. The club level CMs were the absolute worst when we stayed there (did not know pool hours or when the water taxis/monorail were running; always in a rush to get us gone; and we did not get any leis either). Had much better service at the main building.
