Update: Pray for Dom- Dom has passed, His Services, Thank You- Page 48 post 949

Hi Teresa!! I’m so thankful for your update and what a rollercoaster! My gosh! Your grandson is precious and so is sweet Dom! I’m so sorry for all the challenges you and your family have faced. So glad Dom is getting his treatments and I will certainly pray over the situation. I truly thought about you last week. We went on a cruise out of NY. At one point we were looking from the ship at NJ and you all crossed my heart and mind. Hugs to you!!!

Congratulations on your new baby!!! What a treat to have a new baby grandson!

I was also happy to see Dom's update, and have wondered if he would ever be allowed to begin treatment. I commend Patty for firing that Dr. WHile it is nto the same, my DD and DSIL needed to do that when my precious DGD was a baby. Her pediatrician cancelled an appt with a specialist my DD had made, so DD fired her. Thank God! I think my precious girl would not be with us had DD not found a Dr that knew a sick baby when he saw one.

Anyway, I pray the treatments help Dom, and pray for him and his entire family.

I don't know how I missed this update in October, but I'm glad someone bumped it. I love the pic of Leo as lion "roaring" (yawning)!! And I'm glad to hear Dom's oxygen treatments are back in place. :)

I know this will sound simple but just thank you, Teresa. Thank you for continuing to trust in all of us to support you and always cheer for Dom. Jesus is forever with all of you always and in all ways. I truly believe as I have said all along that Dom may not be able to (in a recognizable way) express that he is aware of your and others presence around him, but in some way, in some mysterious, beautiful way, thanks to God, he knows. That, my friend, won't ever change, no matter what and neither will all of our care.

Thank you also for the beautiful pictures! Some of them are not showing up for me right now but the descriptions sure bring me a smile. So glad you and your family had a recent WDW adventure. God Bless baby Leo and his brothers, of course, too :) Remember to let me know when you make it out here to DL.

Always love and continued prayers. God Bless You.

For some reason, I'm not getting the photos, but I can see the video, and I definitely agree about the change in his eyes! I also felt at one point that he "looked" a thank-you at his uncle, even though he couldn't "say" it.

Thanks for taking the time to update us, and glad to hear the little grands enjoyed their trip!

Dom is very lucky to have you all. Is your brother going to see someone? There are stages of grief and sometimes people get stuck in the one stage and need help to move on. I do love the Flyers outfit, we are die hard Flyers fans here as well. I hope Dom's mother wins the fight for PT. It's so important to keep his muscles from atrophying. You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

:grouphug: I will be keeping Dom and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Beautiful family pictures!

Thank you so much for the update. I will keep you all in my prayers. God Bless you all.

Beautiful family pictures - thank you for sharing.

We've suggested to him so many times to seek out a counselor or child loss/grief support group. He just doesn't want to hear it. As it is, he's pretty much written off the entire immediate family. He & his wife moved to Florida four months prior to the accident. It's something he's always wanted to do. They both left their jobs, bought a house, and moved down there, with no jobs & no health insurance. I don't know what he was thinking. Dom didn't want to move down there with them, but my brother put a lot of pressure on him, so he did, but Dom never changed his residency, still had NJ car insurance, a NJ driver's license, and was collecting NJ unemployment. Luckily, that enabled him to be eligible for NJ Medicaid, which was the main reason for bringing him back up here, along with the fact that his mom and sister are here in NJ, as well as the rest of the family. My brother knew it was the right decision, and provided all the documentation for Dom to receive NJ Medicaid, but he blames us for Dom being here, and not in Florida. I think he needs to keep his anger alive, and dwells on that, rather than the reality of the situation.

It's a good thing Dom kept all his NJ connections. Reading this it sounds to me that your brother blames himself but is transferring it to everything else. That is so much easier than facing the truths and the what ifs. I hope your brother can find peace. That anger will consume him. Dom is in the right place to get the help he needs, you all know that. This is just hard for everyone.

Your grandsons are so cute. I have 6 (plus 1 from my daughter from another mother) of my own plus 2 granddaughters and they are my heart. We took a huge trip last year with all but 1 grandson and I got the 2 little guys hooked on Disney. They ask me when are we going back every time I see them.

Thank you for reposting the photos, Teresa! Absolutely precious all of them, especially the one of Leo wearing the knit Mickey hat!

I've been following but not posting. Thank you for the updates, as heart wrenching as they may be.
PT on the other hand keeps the muscles and joints moving, and helps prevent contractions, pressure sores, etc, so I'm really sad that the facility has stopped them for the time being. I guess Dom's supposed to be left in bed to curl up into a pretzel. He'd get all these services if he was at home, but Patty can't survive without working, so I don't know how she's supposed to take him home.
He looks pretty good! And that is the most condemning statement of this country's system of "healthcare" I can remember reading. SO sad. We should ( and COULD) do so so so so much better that this fight for Dom wouldn't have to happen and take this toll. She IS a a warrior but she shouldn't HAVE to be.
Gavin loves his Pop Pop!
