Rain rain go away? Or not!

Sounds like a great day in the park!

But yes, it definitely needs to go away for a bit! We need a chance to dry out some because while CA has been in drought for years this much water at once is disasterous for mudslide prone areas and is causing flooding along creeks & rivers because of the record breaking speed with which it’s falling. Thankfully it looks like SoCal will get that chance to dry out!

It's apparently going to continue being rainy "for the next several months," according to meteorologists! El Nino has officially developed and our pattern of cold weather and Pacific storms isn't ending anytime soon.

Aaaaaand there goes the projected timelines for things like the castle refurb and probably SW:GE. This is why they don’t release dates far in advance!

We can only hope this will ease the fires this summer. We live near Yosemite and our kids couldn't play outside for weeks due to excessive smoke. So many other small fires they don't talk about on the news either .

Unfortunately, isn’t it the opposite when it comes to fire season? The rain makes for way more vegetation that dries out and becomes fire fodder? That was the explanation in 2017...

Well, eventually, maybe. But, this year the burn areas were so ravaged that there won't be "way more vegetation" for several more years. It will take quite awhile for it to come back to previous levels. In the meantime, the moisture will help prevent such dry conditions, at least for the rest of this year.
