Recommendations needed for one night stay off property

We were able to get a hotel package for all of the days we wanted but one (the day that precedes our current first day). Flights are more expensive on the day we are currently leaving, so we're thinking it makes sense to try to still go that day earlier so we could put that extra money into an extra night at a hotel instead. There are no on property value hotels for that one day available (we are staying at a moderate the rest of the trip), so we were looking for recommendations for an off property hotel very close to WDW to stay for that first night. For reference, if it matters, our favorite hotel on property is Port Orleans French Quarter, and our other favorite hotels to stay at are Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Coronado Springs. We were hoping for something in the under $250 range for that first night, preferably under $200. We also never split stay and have never stayed off property so both are new to us and whatever comes along with the experiences. Thank you for your knowledge in advance.

You don't say where you are staying for the rest of your trip or how many people, kids etc. but here are some thoughts...

If you are staying on the east end of WDW, what about one of the Disney Springs hotels? Lots of options there - the Holiday Inn is often recommended as is the DoubleTree. You could also look at the SpringHill or Fairfield Lake Buena Vista.
If you are staying on the west end, you could look at one of the Flamingo Crossing properties (SpringHill or TownPlace Suites).

East end, young couple, no children. The Disney Springs hotels would be great, we don't know anything about them so thank you for the 4 recommendations from there. Do you have a site to recommend to book the one night at one of those?

Keep checking on property each day. There was no availability for us a few days ago but I got a room yesterday at Caribbean beach within your price range.

You don't mention the dates of your stay. This might be the time, though, to check out what staying in an offsite condo is like. Who knows you might even be hooked and end up staying offsite instead of in Disney moderates in the future. If a location near the entrance to Downtown Disney would work for you, maybe try the Cypress Pointe condos (two bedroom would be the right choice for your family). They offer some really great rates and we stayed here just recently Dec. 21-25. I think we were paying about $150 a night for the two bedroom condo for our stay. There is a nice pool and hot tub for your enjoyment as well as shuffleboard, tennis, and a game room. There is a little convenience store / snack bar right onsite which is convenient if you are in a transition mood for food and don't want to leave the resort to dine. Anyway, here is a link where you can put in your days. Do note that the one bedroom lockout is not a good option for a family, but the two bedroom / two bath condo would be great for you I would think. There is a screened in patio or balcony with a table and four chairs which is nice for sitting out in as well as a very nice kitchen and living room/dining room area -- very nice for just hanging out together.

Tons of great options in Orlando, but this FYI is the one we recently picked (just returned) and if you can get your resort for your time period and not move, I can see doing that as previous poster alluded to.

You can use this site (https://disneyspringshotels.com/) as your jumping off point - gives you an overview of each hotel and any offers that are available. It will push you out to the hotel site to book. You can also try one of the travel booking sites - expedia, etc.

This screenshot from Google Maps will show you the locations of the hotels in relation to Disney Springs (bottom left) if that is important to you...
