Rivera resale December report sold for $150 per point

My understanding is that international buyers must be physically present to buy direct whereas they do not need to be present to buy resale. That could be the case here.
Necessary if taking finance. If not, you can buy over the phone depending on country. I have bought direct on the phone from UK.

Do most International DVC members buy travel insurance? I would assume they do since I cant imagine a holiday to Disney would be cheap even with owning at DVC.
Well most from UK will have travel insurance. Aside from not wanting a huge medical bill if you need attention, the flights from the UK can be up to $1500 each in school vacations standard class. I get annual travel insurance on my house buildings and contents cover. However whether it would cover for lost points- possibly not. Only specialist timeshare cover generally makes reference to that, and virtually no one will get that.

Not sure if it’s the same listing but I am thinking most probably. I think the initial buyers backed out. Anyone wants to take a shot what this will go for?

Interesting. My bet is $122 a point.
Also, wasn't the asking price the first time around $170 a point? I have a feeling this one will be on the market for some time with that asking price.

No, it was at $175 last time as well. People know they can bid less, so I think the time on market will have more to do with what seller will take.

We know, if this is the same, they will take $150. Now we will see if there are any other buyers willing to pay around that or at least whatever the sellers have set as their bottom line price.

Gotcha. That's why I'm betting on it sitting a while. The seller is sure that they can get at least $150 because someone bid that much so quickly (even though it looks like they may have backed out), and if someone else comes around offering only $135, above what it seems we all think is pretty reasonable, they would be insulted by it rather than jump on what is a pretty good resale price.
We shall see, but it's a fun drama to follow from afar.

There have been a couple on fidelity for a very long time, one of which has been listed at $160. They have been there for at least three months and haven't budged; I'd be interested to know if there have been any offers that were close.

Someone posted in the ROFR thread a while back saying they bought a contract through another broker for $140 I think. All the contracts appear to be small.

I would wait till the price goes up at the end of the month before listing it myself.

It still has the original listing date of Dec 30th, even though it was offer accepted for awhile, and then relisted when thst fell through.

The original buyer of the contract must have come on disboards to brag about buying the Rivera contract, then stumbled upon this thread and realized what a huge mistake they were making paying $150 per point.
That’s good because I’d personally like to see the prices at around $100 to 110 per point resale before I’d consider getting a small riviera contract.
