Sorry guys trying not to hit you all with solid walls of text.

It was around 10:50. We for the most part very calmly made our way to the entrance of Galaxy’s Edge on the resistance side. The CM’s were good about keeping everyone on the right side, the left was taped off to give people exiting the 8AM reservation a walking path. Me being the nerd I am I immediately opened my data pad on the Disney play app and started translating Aurubrsh on the trash cans in my sight line. Someone up front was hyping up the people closer to the front. I could neither hear nor see them and there were plenty of people behind me. A couple people got out of the mass people to try and purchase the Batuu exclusive coke bottles. The first few were successful the others were respectfully asked to get back in line.

All of sudden we were all moving forward and gasping at the line sized x-wing on the right. It was so beautiful. People were of course stopping to take as many pictures as humanly possible, but I had 1 wish in all the galaxy. That was Savi’s for some special scrap. The CM’s directed everyone around instead of letting us wander straight toward the souk. Every other CM was shouting directions as we went along. Cantina on the right, Falcon straight ahead, 0 mention of Savi’s. When we were left to our own devices I asked a few CM’s were to buy my very own scrap and was soon directed to my destination.

The exit of Savi’s intersects with the line to Dok Ondars. I moved for the stairs , but was directed to go around the front. CM’s already had lines taped out I just had to find the end of it. The courtyard was pretty full when I entered. The end of the line was mercifully underneath a tree for a little shade. A CM came by and announced we would probably be in line for 3 hours. Big sigh, but ok. This is what I’m here for. Others around heard and started leaving the line. I completely understand. We only had 4 hours we had to decide on priorities early on. I made line friends and we took turns running out and doing a little exploring and blue milk sipping. We did wait for hours. Periodically the CM’s came by and gave us an update on line times and we moved very slowly. They also had cards showcasing the different builds. Once you decided the CM gave you a token to return at the register when it was time to pay. A lot of groups with multiple people used the token to get in and out of the courtyard. Eventually the CM’s cut the line. There were about 15 people behind me. The only people allowed in were people that already had a party member in line.

We had a couple things to scan with our data pads and the courtyard did look like a clean scrap yard, but it was every bit of 2 hours before we were near registers to pay. My group was the one were they thankfully started issuing return times after you paid and received your pin that aligned with your chosen lightsaber style. After we received our pin and card we were told to wander but not too far as they would not accommodate late returns. No one actually gave me a specific return time so it was more along the lines of be back here in 30 minutes on pain of death.

I was so paranoid I didn’t go far. I went to Ronto Roastsrs and was throughly delighted to be there.

I had the meliroon juice and one Ronto Warp. I liked both. The slaw to sausage ratio is a little off for me but delicious. The juice was so refreshing after standing in line for hours. There’s a little seating in Ronto’s but not nearly enough for demand. I could sit there for a few hours to watch that surly droid do his work. He has a few different complaints that are worth listening to. The pod engine is brilliant. Let’s just say sometimes it works and sometimes it really works. I sat outside and a little to the right of Ronto’s no bench but the wall was the perfect height to land watch. I’ll people watch later.

I finished up and headed back to Savi’s. They allowed me entry once they saw my card and pin. The line dispersed as everyone had a return “time” at this point. The only crowded area was close to the entrance of Savi’s. Where I was able to sit and serve the remainder of my time with my fellow Star Wars/disney fans. It was 2:45 when we entered. My reservation ended at 3, but no one made a move to escort us out thankfully.

I’m happy to describe my experience inside Savi’s if anyone is interested. I don’t want to spoil anything.

The force was strong with us at Savi’s and they are so lucky they placed a time limit. I would have begged to stay and watch others experience it happily waving my lightsaber in solidarity. It was truly magical. I can neither confirm nor deny that tears were in my eyes. I truly have my lightsaber that I constructed with my own hands. It’s irreplaceable. I love it so much. I loved the entire experience and I’m so grateful to the CM’s and imagineers that brought Savi’s to life.

As Savi’s exits at Dok Ondar’s line. I promptly got in line for Dok’s. A white, yellow, and blue crystal later I kissed Batuu goodbye for the day. Figuratively of course. I was over my time limit and no Stormtroopers came to escort me out, but it was another groups time now. I also knew I had 2 more chances so it was hard to leave but not impossible. If Savi’s was the only thing I accomplished that day I would’ve been sad but content. My green bladed protection and defense lightsaber is my most precious souvenir form the edge.

I went last night for the 5:00pm to 9:00pm reservation, and it was a treat to see the place both during the day and also as night fell and the lights turned on. The cast members have obviously done so much work to prepare for their roles. I enjoy the Star Wars movies but I'm not fully immersed and nerded out as much as I'd like to be. I think before my next trip to SWGE, I'll want to brush up on my lingo so I can communicate better with the residents.

The CMs tend not to break character and spoke in code words for certain things, so it was odd asking where the restrooms were. There is almost no signage in English, and occasionally I would see lines form for entrances to buildings. I asked one resident what a certain queue was for, and she kept whispering about provisions for the journey and finally I realized that it was for one of the shops. If you ask questions about the park, or even taking photos, they will pretend to be puzzled by what you're talking about. There are a few security cast members around in standard Disneyland clothes, who will talk normally to you if you just feel like getting a straightforward answer.

I didn't try out the Disney Play app, but apparently it does add a whole other layer to your visit. I'll have to save some of that fun for next time!

The land was quite uncrowded, and I'm thankful for the reservation system. I know it can't stay this way... it would be awfully difficult to get in if capacity was limited this much forever. I'm really not sure if I should visit WDW this fall, because I fear that it's going to be madness there unlike what I experienced at Disneyland.

I have mixed feelings about that I guess. It's great to have an immersive experience, but on the other hand, if you're just looking for straight information, you should be able to get it without a lot of fussing around, I think.

Hopefully overtime they figure out ways to answer questions more clearly while still staying character - like if you ask about taking pictures they say "oh, you have an image capturing datapad?" Or something like that

Also I suspect they will start to learn which guests truly want the full immersive experience and which are not as into it and ok with more straightforward answers

my DD started training yesterday and they will give you the correct information. A for example guest asks a SWGE CM where is Toy Storyland. CM responds I haven't seen them personally but I've been told they are off world in (points) that direction
So they will give you the info just with a little bit of extra story

Here's a report from my daughter who got to do the Expo today at DHS, she also is training on MFSR
She said that the land is completely immersive and best part is that it feels like SW for SW fans and people who are not really into SW, it's very inclusive that way.
She got to try items from all the places, she loved the popcorn combined not on it's own, she liked blue milk better than green (and she does not like coconut or almond or rice milk) she tried thee vegetarian meatballs from Docking Bay 7 and loved it and a juice drink like Jamba juice from Oga's
She said Oga's is amazing but her favorite place was Dok Ondar's, she said her jaw dropped.
She went on the ride and was a gunner and enjoyed the ride, but she still considers FoP the best ride on property.
And she told me I'm going to cry like a baby when I go with her to CM preview on Tuesday :D

Thank you for this reassuring information!
I am pretty worried about taking my small kids in (the only option if I am going!), and the idea of getting a useless answer to where to find a restroom that is not clearly marked is not something I want to add to my list of concerns.

If you ask for a restroom or a bathroom the cm will probably respond with "the refreshers are that way"
It's all worth keeping in theme but they will not forget the 4 keys. Also she was told that if she finds a lost child or if there's a medical emergency they are to drop the backstory completely

Loooong trip report also keep in mind these procedures might change for the AP preview:
CM Preview with 3-7 slot
Arrived at DHS around 1:30pm, CM event entrance was to the right of the tapstiles, a lot of CM with pads scanning paper tickets.
We had one stop before going towards Grand Avenue, arrived around 2pm and got checked (ID and CM ID) and were told we could go right in, they are allowing CM to go inside an hour before the scheduled slot. Also no time limit inside the land. We stayed from 2pm until 9pm
We took our time walking around, first impressions, the land feels bigger than what I imagined, everywhere you look there's something to see, even in the Resistance area.
You walk in through the Resistance area, known by the locals as the old outpost or the ruins, the A wing and X wing are there, plus 2 merchandise carts and of course the entrance for RotR
Then you encounter the marketplace or you can go to the right and find Droid Depot and Savi, this area is called the Landport
The marketplace looks amazing and although the stores are small, I believe if they were any bigger it would contrast with the theme. Like someone said on another thread, the stores are actually quiet hot, they need so fan mechanisms in there of some type. We arrived here during a thunderstorm and CM are allowed to stay in this marketplace because they have put a lot of protection against lightning (not in theme but for safety) With the rain, you don't get as wet inside the marketplace but it does become very, very humid.
I was upset that I didn't find a mug I was looking for, apparently it already sold out but they are waiting for a new shipment, I got my Black Spire Outpost hat here.
The droid depot was my number one big purchase. And I loved every second of it, there was no line and managed to get in and out in about 20 minutes. This and Savi were the only 2 places they were taking CM discount, bout the Droid and backpack and came out to almost $100. I also got a personality chip for $13. Once we left the store my droid was beeping and booping around the droid depot area, the first order area, the marketplace and resistance area, there was no reaction in the queue or the MFSR attraction. I am a droid person since I was little, my favorite character is R2D2, so I'm very happy with him.
We heard that CM had been able to try Oga's without a reservation so we swung over and they told us they were taking standby only when the line was short, at that time, around 3:30 the line to go in was pretty long just for the people with reservations, so we kept exploring
Dok Ondar's Den of Antiquities is amazing, so much to see, so many easter eggs for all sorts of SW fans, I could easily spend an hour there just looking.
We saw MFSR had a 15 min wait so we went on it, I actually wished I had more time in the queue, again very detailed plus the banter between the 2 workers that comes over the speakers (forgot their names) is super funny. First go on it we were gunners, my daughter told me to just press the big button before the ride that was flashing to put it on auto aim and then all you do is press the firing button. it was really fun, not my favorite attraction on WDW but better than most for sure, plus you're inside the MF. I did quiet well as a gunner. We tried later in the evening around 7:30pm the line wait was posted at 20 minutes and this time we got pilot, and yes, it is probably the best position just because you are, well, the pilot, and it's actually not hard. I did the left pilot so I just had to steer the ship left and right, the right pilot goes up and down and punches the hyperspeed. I am a sucker for pratical effects to my favorite attractions at WDW are HM, SE and was GMR, but this is easily one of my top 5. Also the ride will highly depend on the group of people you're with, we were all excited and shouting instructions and reacting, if you are with a group that doesn't react it will not be as fum.
On to the food: tried the blue milk with alcohol and I loved it, the serving portion was really large actually, I was expecting the little cups but this was a full cup. Did not try the green (can we really call it that? it's more yellowish than green) but will do it next time. AT Docking Bay 7 had the ribs and the chocolate dessert, both were delicious, and Ronto Racers had the Gold Leader wheat beer, loved it, and tried the Kat Saka popcorn with the mouse droid popcorn bucket, again I didn't think I would enjoy this but actually did. So the food was a hit for me.
The land didn't feel overly crowded until 5pm rolled around then you could definitely see the last group of people arriving, especially around the marketplace it gets busy
Now the thing that I was probably most excited about, other than building my droid, is the interactions and all of the citizens of Batuu were on point, the obvious Rising Suns greetings were used, but, for example, I was waiting for my DD to buy the popcorn and a Batuuan approached me and asked if I was enjoying my adventure, we started chatting and he told me he's from Galma, a settlement on the outskirts of Blaack Spires and that it was a crime ridden place which is why he was working for Dok at the market but him and his brother had a little bit of an ilegal setup back home and were trying to save credits to buy a podracer engine....this was done with every Batuuan we encountered while waiting for things and it was so much fun to talk to them. It made the immersion feel complete.
Once the Play Disney app opens up there will be a lot more to do, there are things scattered everywhere that will interact with the app so can't wait to check that out.
From the time we set foot in Batuu until around 8:30pm we saw characters roaming constantly, stormtroopers, Chewbacca, had an amazing interaction with Rey and with Vi Moradi, you are walking around and they are just roaming, it's super neat. Kylo has yet to arrive at Batuu.
Special mention to the photopass photographers, they are everywhere and are seriously dedicated to take an awesome picture, I will share some of my photopass pics with you below. I took over 300 on my phone so I'll try and sort through those as wekk and share some here
So remember how I said I was the pilot the secon time around, I was so hyped after that ride, we went straight to Oga's to see how the standby was looking and they said the could take us, I go to grab my phone and see that I dropped it inside the ride, so I can now say I lost my phone in the MF :) they found it and I got it back.
Anyways Oga's Cantina is super fun, the atmosphere, the lighting, of course DJ Rex, the wait staff is amazing. I went to pay for my drink and used my Vader chase card and she said, why do you use his credits? he scares me, and I've only heard legends :D again super fun interactions.
Final thoughts: the land is absolutely beautiful, so many details it is impossible to take them all in, the noises above your head of the ships are so cool, I would say for the regular Disney Park goes you could easily spend 3 hours exploring, eating and going on MFSR, for the avid SW fan you need a lot more time to take it all in. I really hope the CM don't loose their backstory connections and interactions
If you have any questions feel free. I will be uploading pics in a bit (my DD is still sleeping and she was a lot more pics than I do)

Forgot to add, the dasani water is $4.25 I remember someone saying it was $9, it isn't.
Also you can approach Oga's Cantina and ask for a quick look around the place and they will guide you through it, if there's space, while I was waiting for my phone to be returned from Hondo ;) I saw plenty of people asking and CM guiding them inside and then out. While I was inside, I also saw this, CM talking to the guest briefly explaining the story of Oga and DJRex and then getting the people out
