We booked HIVC Lake of the Woods 1br cabin via last call for a week for $209.00.

It's 2 hours away from us and near Villages indoor water park in Texas.

So. We'll see. Might be great for quick getaways not far from home.

Whoo-hoo! From the photos on TripAdvisor, the cabins appear to offer a good measure of privacy. An easy 'drive-to' destination is a bonus. I hope you have a lovely visit!

The reviews on TUG are a bit outdated ... the last report for this location was in 2015.

Howdy and welcome! So let's break this down ...

1. At what point do you get that error? Try documenting each step starting with "Launch <name of browser> and navigate to: http:www.dvcmembers.com." Document each click ... and tell us where the error occurs.
2. Do you encounter any difficulties playing around w/in the DVC Member site itself? Can you search inventory, see your dues information, see your available points, etc.? (My concern here: Perhaps, as a new member, your account is not yet fully enabled or has a set-up issue? I'm hoping that fully exercising the online account before trying to visit RCI might flush out a lurking deficiency with your new membership?)
   
3. Tell us a bit about your system: What operating system and version? What browser and version? Do you get the same error if trying this from a different computer or a different browser? Have you tried clearing your browser's cache/cookies and rebooting everything?

FWIW, I just logged into RCI through DVC to make sure it wasn't down. I'm in and browsing ... so, for now, the site and its connections are running.

EDITED TO ADD: After doing a bit of searching on Google using the error message you provided, the results suggest that the problem is related to your account setup on the DVC side. My findings turned up related error messages from Wyndham and HGVC timeshare owners with RCI portals dedicated to their specific timeshare club similar to the way our DVC<>RCI works. In these reports, either the problem cleared up on its own ... or it cleared up after the individual worked through their club's Member Services to verify their account setup.

Might be too new. The # of points shouldn't matter? You might want to try tickling DVC Member Services, if you have time.

Just came home from a stay at Cove at Yarmouth (cape cod) 1 bedroom for a week, $209 and happy to report that it was a great resort! The reservation went through perfectly and there weren’t any extra hidden fees. This was reserved through the last minute deals back in October. Only thing for someone to watch out for with this resort is there is two types of one bedrooms at this resort, a 4(4) and 4(2). I reserved a 4(4) thinking that would put me in a one bedroom suite, but they instead put me in the other layout that is basically a studio loft (had an upstairs but no door or privacy), but because the resort was empty this time of year they were able to accommodate the change.

My DD and I stayed in a 1 BR at the Sheraton Desert Oasis a few years ago. Great location, we flew to PHX on SW so we packed a tent and sleeping bags thanks to two bags fly free. We tubed down the Salt River and came across wild Mustangs drinking at the river's edge, still one of my favorite memories. Drove to Sedona and hiked a bit (incredible scenery from the comfort of your car also), stopped at Slide Rock State Park (Coconino National Forest) to swim and try the natural rock slide (very fun), drove on to Flagstaff stayed overnight. Continued on in the morning to the Grand Canyon, hiked, and camped on the rim that night. I have never seen so many stars, the night scene alone was worth the drive. Next day drove to Payson (through Tonto National Forest), hiked somewhere but do not recall the name but honestly there are sooo many amazing places to pull over and hike, beautiful areas, camped overnight, drove back to the Sheraton. The Sheraton has a nice pool, and pool bar/cafe we ate lunch at. There were gas grills outside the rooms so we bbq'd a couple of nights. This was such an inexpensive trip that could not have been more amazing. Highly recommend this site/resort and at $740 who cares if you don't stay in the room every night. We stayed on points that I got for free for buying SSR (I think), which helped me not feel compelled to stay at the resort every night.

My husband and I were just discussing our exchange into the Wyndham Flagstaff where I faced the same choice. Yep, I think I had also chosen the "4(4)" hoping for the larger half of the lockout. I guess we'll see what we end up with ...

@Alice Sr. , thank you for the review of the Sheraton Desert Oasis. The location isn't a far drive for us ... we may have to try it when the schedule allows. Aren't those dark skies lovely? (We live in a mandatory "dark sky" area given proximity to an Observatory. Love it out here!)

Oh you are so lucky, I'm pretty sure I would be falling asleep outside every night. I thought Aulani would have the same sky, hate to say it but I was kind of disappointed, but I recovered quickly
