So Much Freakin’ Epicness Y'all! A May 2019 Epic DIS Meet TR Updated 11/21 x 7!

I had not realized Pluto had moved there. Good to know because like you, he is my favorite too! I always take one of mine to visit him. I think I will definitely like the AC to meet him in Sept.

Love your M&G and PP pics! So nice to be able to do those rides/shows when other things have crazy busy wait times.

LOVE your CBJ story! So funny about the service dog! I love when those unexpected moments happen!

Glad you got to meet Pluto in his new spot! Sounds like a great time in MK getting on some rides and enjoying the AC :)

Belle is my favorite princess! I go in that shop every trip and have yet to buy anything :hyper: I asked for the Lumiere figurine for Mother’s Day and have yet to get it:confused3

We have waited inside Dumbo a few times and I loved sitting in there, nice way to rest before the ride. We noticed the numbers in March!

That doll’s hat is creepy, I have missed that one also

Andi and her friends get the giggles in CBJ, especially when the 3 ladies sing. The lyrics are really funny and a tad risky :rotfl:

Soon we meet!

Thanks for reporting back on the numbers at Dumbo! I didn't know those were there!

I'm so glad you love the winking hippo at IASW! I worked there in 2016 and she was definitely a cast favorite!

That sounds like a fun performance of CBJ!

Loving this MK day! Great update!

Bummer about the Pluto meet!

So no more picking your Dumbo color. I can see how this makes loading a bit more streamlined but I have read reports of people still picking whatever Dumbo they want and causing a bit of chaos because they have to have a certain color. I ended up in a blue Dumbo and enjoyed my flight as always.

I could totally see this being an issue! But if everyone follows the rules so much easier!

Someone (cough, @pkondz, cough) mentioned that Ariel looks drugged in this last scene. Now I just can’t unsee it!

Now this is all I am going to see!!!

I still had time to kill before my first FP and what better way to do so than with my favorite bears. This turned out to be a hilarious viewing of CBJ. Well at least it was to me, not sure if those that hadn’t seen it hundreds of times were quite so amused. First off, there was a service dog down near the front who totally lost it when the bears came out and barked through a lot of the show. Second was a group of teenagers that got a huge case of the giggles over the lyrics to some of the songs. Their laughter was contagious and half the audience including me was giggling along with them. Needless to say it made for an interesting show. And since I love the bears so much, you know I took lots of pictures.
For an attraction that really never changes this is a nice change of pace 🤣

I should hope not!
Well as you already know, it's all fixed now. I was using the defaults that were show and didn't realize you could type in a number and get a different color.
::yes::
All will be revealed as soon as I make it to the O'Hana dinner. Which should be some time in July at my pace!
 I feel your pain!
Guess I'll have to make sure the two of you never meet. :rotfl2:
Hmmm.... ;)
Thanks! I get lucky once in a while.
Darn it. Doc already stole my line on this.
There was a bit of a line but I wasn’t too worried since it was all indoors in the nice cool air conditioning.
AC trumps all.
And then it was time for my main guy, Pluto!
Yay!!
Awwww... :)
And for the first time in a long while, I was handed a pager and directed into the play area.
Really! I didn't know that happened. Huh.
When I got back outside to the loading area, I discovered that they had changed the boarding process for Dumbo. I was directed to stand on the #16 in line.
::yes:: I found that out, but didn't know there'd been a change since I haven't ridden Dumbo in forever.
have read reports of people still picking whatever Dumbo they want and causing a bit of chaos because they have to have a certain color.
:sad2: Is it really that important?
After Dumbo, I wandered around by Little Mermaid and saw the ride had a 20 minute posted wait time. I figured that was probably inflated so I headed in.
::yes:: That line... just never really happens.
Someone (cough, @pkondz, cough) mentioned that Ariel looks drugged in this last scene. Now I just can’t unsee it!
::yes::
Cute shot!
So what’s a girl to do other than take a boat ride around the world?
Literally, almost anything else.
Lucky for you, I was light on the pictures this time around and the ones I did get aren’t that great.
Yay!
Don’t ask me why because I really don’t know, but I absolutely love the drunk hippo and must take a picture of him every time I ride IASW.
 That hippo is famous.
First off, there was a service dog down near the front who totally lost it when the bears came out and barked through a lot of the show.
 Poor pup!
Second was a group of teenagers that got a huge case of the giggles over the lyrics to some of the songs. Their laughter was contagious and half the audience including me was giggling along with them
:)
And since I love the bears so much, you know I took lots of pictures.
And they turned out really well, too!

Not trying to multiquote
If it makes you feel any better, I had to tell @pkondz or @Steppesister (or both)

Buzz Light Year and Galactic Hero

Ah OK. For some reason I thought you were talking about food and couldn't figure out what a double helping of "GH" was. :confused3 :rotfl:

Hmmm, those are cute but not quite Disney enough. I think I have a bit of time to come up with something before our next Epic trip.

I had not realized Pluto had moved there. Good to know because like you, he is my favorite too! I always take one of mine to visit him. I think I will definitely like the AC to meet him in Sept.

I'm not sure how long he will stay there. I think it's just temporary while Minnie meets with Mickey for the birthday celebration. I can't remember when it ends though.

Love your M&G and PP pics! So nice to be able to do those rides/shows when other things have crazy busy wait times.

I love catching shows when it's hot and crowded since they are air conditioned and rarely crowded.

LOVE your CBJ story! So funny about the service dog! I love when those unexpected moments happen!

I do too! It's always fun to change stuff up a bit.

Glad you got to meet Pluto in his new spot! Sounds like a great time in MK getting on some rides and enjoying the AC :)

I was so happy to get to see him in his new top hat. And meeting him in the air conditioning was very nice too. All of his other spots are outdoors.

Belle is my favorite princess! I go in that shop every trip and have yet to buy anything :hyper: I asked for the Lumiere figurine for Mother’s Day and have yet to get it

I came close to buying the Cogsworth clock at one time but I actually have a mantel clock that shaped exactly like him. It was a gift from my parents and I love it so I don't want to replace it. I have a hard time with the Belle stuff because yellow looks awful on me. Which is pretty funny since both Belle and Pluto, two favorites, are yellow.

We have waited inside Dumbo a few times and I loved sitting in there, nice way to rest before the ride. We noticed the numbers in March!

I think that was only the second or maybe third time I've waited inside. I usually get an additional FP for it or ride when the line isn't so long.

That doll’s hat is creepy, I have missed that one also

I swear that was not there before. I need to go back through my hundreds of IASW pictures and see if I can figure it out. I just can't figure out how I hadn't noticed him before with as often as I ride that one.

Andi and her friends get the giggles in CBJ, especially when the 3 ladies sing. The lyrics are really funny and a tad risky

I love that the lyrics are so risky and quite a bit politically incorrect. I hope Disney doesn't go down the route they did with Pirates and change it up.

Soon we meet!

Coming up very soon!

That was the first time I saw the numbers on Dumbo and I hadn't read about it in anyone else's report so I figured it had to be kind of new.

Winking Hippo is probably a better name than Drunk Hippo. :rotfl2:She always looks a little tipsy to me though with the way her eyes wink.

She also looks very unhealthily anorexic? And King Triton also looks just weird! They didn't do the best job with the animatronics on this one!

They definitely did a bit of rough job on the animatronics on that ride. Ariel also looks a bit strange in the Kiss the Girl scene.

Bummer about the Pluto meet!

Ah well, at least I got to meet him in his new outfit. And I've had some pretty great meets with him in the past.

I could totally see this being an issue! But if everyone follows the rules so much easier!

I swear a lot of people don't believe the rules are meant for them. It drives me nuts at times.

Now this is all I am going to see!!!

Yep! @pkondz did that to me so I had to pass on the fun!

For an attraction that really never changes this is a nice change of pace

I do like it when odd things happen. I've seen some of the live shows like Festival of the Lion King so many times, I find it fascinating if I notice a mess up.

Wow! You sure got s lot done. The pics with you and Pluto are so cute.

Thanks! I do love meeting my #1 dog.

I feel your pain!

At least so far I've managed to keep up with the one post a week pace I set for myself.

Darn it. Doc already stole my line on this.

:rotfl2:

Really! I didn't know that happened. Huh.

It doesn't seem to much any more. When the ride moved they added the pager system but it seems to only be used when it's really crowded. I wasn't complaining at all that day since it was so nice to sit out of the sun for a while.

I found that out, but didn't know there'd been a change since I haven't ridden Dumbo in forever.

Seems like it was sometime earlier this year. They have a similar system at the Magic Carpets so I'm surprised they didn't do it sooner on Dumbo.

Is it really that important?

You would think not. But i swear kids are so entitled these days that I could see parents fighting to get whatever color their little prince or princess wants. I see it as a good lesson in not always getting what you want. ::yes::

That line... just never really happens.

It's pretty funny how grossly they overestimated the amount of line that ride would need.

That hippo is famous.

She sure is! I think she might be more iconic than the dolls themselves.

And they turned out really well, too!

Thanks! I seem to have great luck with photos in that show. Probably because I'm sitting still and not moving. :rotfl:

I'm glad you cleared that up, because I seriously could NOT think of what this was about and started to feel like Ariel looks up there. ^^

Me too, I was totally stumped. But I was thinking he was talking about getting dinner, not a ride, or I might have figured it out eventually.

Happy Birthday Mickey and the DIS Meets Begin!

When I finished up with the Country Bears, it was time for my first FP so I made my way back down Main Street via the Emporium. I didn’t see anything I wanted to purchase at that time and before long I made it to the theater and got in the FP line to meet Mickey and Minnie! When I found out they would be meeting together in their special Birthday outfits I knew I needed to go and say hi. I’m really glad I had the FP because I never saw them with less than a 50 minute wait all week.

With the FP, I waited a lot less, I think around 10 minutes, before I got to meet the pair. Mickey was very impressed with my bag and asked me if I made it myself. I told him a friend had made it for me.

Notice in that picture how close the top of Mickey’s hat is to my hair? Well right after, the ribbons on it got tangled in my hair. I have a feeling that I left a clump of my hair with Mickey as we got untangled.

It was raining pretty hard when I exited the theater so I stood under the awning there and waited it out. During that time I was able to log on to MDE and move my next FP for Pirates forward so I could use it immediately rather than wait a half an hour. My plan was to eat dinner in between my second and third FPs.

The rain let up pretty quickly and I made my way towards Adventureland via the stores on the opposite side of the Emporium. When I got to the jewelry store I checked out the rings again and low and behold, there was the ring that I had originally wanted and was “completely sold out” according to the CM at Disney Springs! And you know what I did? I walked away. Yep, after all the disappointment of not finding it the day before, I convinced myself that I didn’t need to spend the money to buy a third ring that trip.

I continued on to Adventureland and used my FP for Pirates where all of my pictures came out crappy like these two which are the best of the lot.

From there I proceeded on to Liberty Square for dinner at Columbia Harbor House. My normal meal at CHH is the chicken & fish plate but with a dessert party coming up that evening I didn’t want a whole lot. But I do have to have something savory before I eat a lot of sweets and I rarely like the savory stuff they have at the dessert parties. So I ended up getting just a small basket of fish and chips. It’s not actually listed on the menu but you can ask for it.

Despite it being around dinner time, the restaurant was not crowded and I was able to get a seat upstairs at one of the Fantasyland windows with this view. Sorry about the blurriness, I didn’t realize that my camera had focused on the flowers in front rather than the people.

It rained some more while I sat there but by the time I finished up and headed back out, it was done for the evening. Oh, and I thoroughly enjoyed the fish and chips as usual. CHH is one of my favorite CS places to eat at MK. It was number one for a long time until BOG came along.

After dinner, I used my 3rd FP on Peter Pan which I have no photographic evidence of and then made a 4th FP for Buzz Lightyear. I ended up getting a mediocre score for me. It usually takes me a time or two during my trips to get warmed up.

I swear my Buzz Lightyear ride photos are always so boring.

I rode the Peoplemover again after Buzz. I can’t remember if I even tried for a 5th FP or if I went straight to the PM to kill some time. I managed to take one photo this time around and I have no idea why it was this particular one.

While I was on the PM, I decided to head back down Main Street and take another look at the ring I walked away from. I decided that if they had my size (I figured if stock was so low that it wasn’t available in DS, it might not be available in all sizes) I would go ahead and get it. I took the path past the Purple Wall and noticed that they were already checking people in for the dessert parties so I stopped and got my wristband. We were doing the After Fireworks party so I still had plenty of time before I had to make my way to the Garden to watch HEA. I did get escorted over to the garden by a CM so I would know where to go when I came back. She was surprised that I was by myself but I told her I was meeting friends a bit later.

Turns out they did have my size so ring #3 came home with me! It’s actually a double band and meant to be worn like this.

But I’m a bit of a rebel so sometimes I wear it like this. It’s a little more comfortable this way because the Mickey heads can be a bit pokey if it’s worn like a crown.

As I was waiting for a CM to help with the rings, I looked on Facebook and saw that Su-Lynn @chunkymonkey, her husband Steve and sister Su-Queen had met up with Billie @Elevationist and Sarah @IowaTater on Main Street and they were going to head to Pirates. I knew I hadn’t missed them by much so when I finished checking out, I texted Su-Lynn and Billie to see where they were. Unfortunately they were already in line for Pirates so I didn’t get to ride with them but I told them I would meet them by the exit.

I made my way there and found a seat at the closed Tortuga Tavern across from the exit. I noticed that the battery on my phone was getting low so I pulled out my charger only to discover that the cord had pretty much snapped in half. It was an older cord and must have dry rotted but now I was in a bit of a bind. Of course I didn’t pack a second cord and now had no way to charge my phone for the rest of the trip.

It wasn’t long before I spotted the group coming out of the Pirates dump shop. Steve was actually the first one I saw. Being an introvert, I was very nervous about the meet ups but honestly I clicked immediately with all of the ladies beginning with this meet up and continuing throughout the trip. We talked about what we had done so far that day and Su-Queen and I got off on a character tangent. She likes to meet characters even more than I do! We also discussed the problem of my phone cord. Billie said she was pretty sure I could buy one in my resort gift shop and Sarah said she might have an extra one I could borrow.

We headed back over to the Tomorrowland Terrace so the rest of the gang could check in for the Dessert Party. The CM that had showed me the Garden entrance earlier was there and I said “See, I do have friends!” She took us back over and we found a spot in front of a bush while Billie drove up to the front with her scooter so she could stay seated and still see. The garden was already a bit crowded and while there was some grassy spots open, the ground was still damp from the earlier rain and none of us wanted wet butts. Instead we leaned against the railing that surrounded the bush.

A Photopass Photographer approached us and whispered to us that she might be jumping in front of us during the show because the gentleman sitting there was going to propose to his girlfriend at the beginning of the fireworks show. The CM was trying to stay close to where they were without being seen so we kind of adopted her into our group so she could hide among us. We had her take this picture (Billie was still up front).

And then once Lesley @Lesley Wake, Caroline @disneyAndi14 and Molly @Mollydolly334 joined us we all got in on the pictures. We might actually have done this one after the fireworks but I'm sticking it here anyways. Looks like Molly tried out the Chunky Dump one night before Liesa @Steppesister perfected it (see her TR for a full explanation on that one).

Once again I only took a few pictures of the show before getting caught up in the whole thing. I will say it was very cool to see the proposal at the beginning. And she did say yes which was a good thing. We did ask the CM taking the pictures if she had ever seen a rejection but she had not.

And then we all headed to the top level of the Tomorrowland Terrace for our dessert party. I did not take pictures of all the dessert offerings but I think a few of the other girls did. Here’s my first plate, I had a brownie, Mickey push-ups that I think were mousse, edible cookie dough with a white chocolate Minnie bow, a Birthday cupcake and in the middle, chocolate cheesecake. I also had a glass of milk which is something that this party has that none of the others do. Nothing like a glass of milk to wash down the sweets!

Everything was very good. The cookie dough had a weird consistency too it and at first I thought I didn’t like it but it turned out to be very good. The Mickey push-up things were um, a bit erotic to eat and we all got a big laugh out of those.

Unfortunately, Caroline wasn’t feeling the best after her long travel day and she ended up leaving early. The rest of us closed down the party and then headed to Tomorrowland (minus Steve and Su-Queen who headed to BTMR) to ride the PM which we renamed the “Chunky Mover”. Before the trip we had all received honorary “Chunky” names for the trip. I am ChunkyPluto of course. None of us realized that the PM is not open during EMHs so we were disappointed to find it closed. We consoled ourselves by riding Buzz Lightyear instead. I rode with Molly and tried to help her out by pointing out the high targets. We had a very jerky car though so it was hard to aim. Sometimes you get a car with an overly sensitive joy stick (for the spinning) that sends you flying past the place you want to aim at and that happened on this night. I still managed to beat my score from earlier that day.

Another boring Buzz ride photo but at least Molly looks cute.

Jackie had been texting me all evening on her progress from the airport and I decided to head out after Buzz. Su-Lynn, Molly and Lesley joined me in exited while Billie and Sarah kept going on to more rides. We stopped for a quick PP picture on the way out. The photographer was a lot of fun and had us do several hilarious poses. And as you will see in a few of them, I do not follow directions very well!

We made it out to the buses and went our separate ways with a “see you tomorrow”. I made the long hike back to the Pop stop to find a massive crowd. I had hoped to beat Jackie back to the room so I could see her reaction to the decorations but I realized at that point it wasn’t going to happen. After about a 30 minute wait, I finally made it onto the third double bus.

Once I was back at the resort, I made a very important stop at the gift shop where I found exactly one phone cord on the shelf for the inflated cost of $26. I gladly paid it though because being without my phone for the rest of the week was just not an option.

I finally made it back to the room around 11:30. Jackie was already there in her PJs struggling to stay awake for my arrival. We chatted for a bit while I got ready for bed and ended up turning out the lights around midnight. Jackie brought me some cute gifts that I really loved but I didn’t get a chance to take a picture of them that night.

And that ends day 2. Here’s my Fitbit stats for the day.

I did like the desserts! Maybe I should have given the cookie dough another shot - I gave up after a bite!

This one looks like you just lost it! It may have been when I lost my cheese cubes though...
After about a 30 minute wait, I finally made it onto the third double bus.
:headache:

Yeah, it sucks the price gouging, but is necessary! I think I even noticed them in the big park shops (Mouse gears, Emporium, etc)!

I can't believe people won't just go to their assigned Dumbo. (Oh, who am I kidding? Of course I believe people would be ridiculous! ) Now, I am absolutely one of those people that watches the vehicles on the tilt-a-whirl to pick the one that spins best - but as I'm never assigned to a vehicle I figure it's fair game!

I do love the drunken hippo! 🦛 :drinking1

That poor service dog! S/he was probably trying to protect his/her owner from those crazy bears! :rotfl:

Great pictures with Mickey and Minnie! They look very snazzy in their birthday getup.

I also love that they serve milk and the dessert parties. Nothing goes better with a plate of dessert than a cold glass of milk!

I'm glad you were able to find a replacement phone cord! You have to love those purchases that are so necessary that you don't care what they cost. "Forty dollars for a small bottle of migraine medication? Sold!"

Sounds like a great time in MK. Love the pics with Mickey & Minnie and I'm glad you bought the ring!

What a fun time with the group watching HEA & doing the dessert party! Love all the PP pics.

Glad you got the last phone cord in the gift shop!
