SoCal Must Do Places to Eat

Speaking of food trucks, these guys won the first season of "Food Truck Race" on Food channel, then went B&M (brick and mortar);

No exaggeration, best burger you will ever eat. Alhambra is on the route between Los Angeles and Pasadena and this is well worth the stop. The Molly Hatchet is my favorite but they only make it on Mondays.

Not far from Disney, go to Ma's Islamic. Food from the northwest of China. You MUST ORDER the thick sesame bread. Worth a trip across the country. I still dream about it. Long menu, I am sure you will find other thigns to order.

Also near Disney: Orange County is home to the largest Vietnamese community in the US, and they have many great places to eat. One dish that the places are especially serious (and competitive!) about is cha ca thang long, turmeric catfish. Song Long in Westminster is a very good place to try this dish.

There is also a Cambodian enclave in Long Beach with about a dozen Cambodian places. Koh Ruessei (Bamboo Island) features anchovy beef, which comes in two parts: an enormous pile of the best sliced steak you could dream of along a salad of thai eggplant and cherry tomatoes in an anchovy dressing.

Bon ap!

We love Ma's Chinese Islamic, too -- and both the thin and thick sesame breads are great! (Thin is easier to handle if you are only two people.) Don't expect to find any pork on the menu -- this can throw some people (mainly kids) who are adamant about having their sweet and sour pork.
Little Saigon is very fun and has wonderful food -- allow lots of time for exploring.

GD is an “all that” fan, booked the Good burger pop up for upcoming trip in West Hollywood near the target. Doing a private tour with pickup from airport, then getting dropped there.

Will grab uber to our resort (great wolf) afterwards around 7 pm to hopefully miss rush hour traffic on a weekday

Haven’t seen any reviews for the restaurant yet, believe it started up 7/17. Anybody try it yet? Not expecting anything gourmet but hope it’s decent with entertainment value.

Extraordinary Desserts in Little Italy (I think there's another location as well). The cafe is decent, but the cakes..... OMG. Just walking around the displays is like cake porn.

Hello everyone,
Gonjj, if you're planning a trip to San Diego there are many popular restaurants, but my personal recommendation to you would be to choose cheap restaurants like fast food and BBQ. You can search Google for restaurants with good ratings when you land.

If you are in the Huntington Beach area when you come up the coast, Sancho's Tacos are amazing, and the view from the picnic tables is great as well!
