Some people ARE worth melting for ….. 40 Disney days – the trip of a lifetime updated October 10

With the experience of having ordered far too much food the day before we decided to skip the appetizer and just go with a burger each

The sizes of the portions in Vegas are just ridiculous!!! It's tough if you go with people who don't like the same foods because I always find that one dinner is enough for several!!

You walked quite a long way from MGM to Paris!!!

The spacing of the casinos on the strip is always so deceiving. People end up walking so much farther than they expect!

Your trip up the eiffel tower sounds fun. We always stay off strip at Sam's Town. Its kind of a locals and low key hotel. It's far off the strip and they have low betting minimums so we can play blackjack for cheap.

The Gordon Ramsay Burgr sounds good as well. I can't wait to go back to Vegas when we get done moving out of the old place!

I found a photo of the charm on Google. ;) Too lazy to get it off my bracelet to take a pic.

I am pretty sure it was on my bracelet on the cruise.

Very cute! Yes, now I think I remember it but didn't realize what it said. Thanks for the picture :)

DCL has a lot of charms, thankfully I've gotten most of them, so my CC can rest. Looking forward to see which one you'll choose.

I am excited to see what they have to offer, I'll try to remember to take a picture before putting it away. I have a bad habit of not taking pictures of things I buy on the ship.

Fun update. Mom enjoyed the M & M store when she went there for a work trip. Lunch looks yummy. I wouldn't be able to share those fries, fries are one of my favorite things ever popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::

Sorry I have been off the Di for awhile again !! My Did time is often spent with Brayden who is now 6 months . lots of pix on face book of him!! Cariol & I did a People & Places trip to Los Vegas , the Casinos are of NO interest to me but I did enjoy a coule of the shows and the M & M store , I loved that Musical Fountain and the Volcano, we saw the Circus too , also took a Gondola boat ride . We also ate at Earl of Sandwich which was just as cheap in Vegas as in Disney!! I just osted on my thread about our trip for a 2 day Elvis in Lake George !! When you were talking about the Eifel Tower I too thought you were in Paris :rotfl2:

Loving your Vegas update, we went last summer and had a blast! I am hoping to head back out that way when it's not quite so hot... it was over 100 degrees the entire time we were there!

We finally made it to the Mall and strolled through several of the stores until we found a Pandora Store. I collect Pandora beads that showcase destinations and so we asked and were shown the special Las Vegas charms. There was one I especially liked and Tom got it for me.

We didn't go to the outlets, but I found a Pandora store at I think the Venetian. I got a Las Vegas charm too, mine is pretty similar to yours but on a heart shaped bead instead of a dangle.

A few minutes later our burgers arrived. We had ordered two burgers that appealed to both of us, as we were going to share them as well.

Those burgers look great. A Gordon Ramsay restaurant is on my list next time I go!

What a cute shirt!! I would've bought it :P

The photos you have of Paris look lovely. We stayed at the Flamingo and I am still getting rewards emails from them. I want to stay at Paris next time we go. Supposedly all of the restaurants there are very gluten free friendly.

we got off at the MGM Grand and tried to find an exit to the Strip, but we were not very successful. So we walked around the casino for a while, then when we found the front desk and an exit we left and were way off from where we wanted to go.
Yeah MGM is great for trapping you in their casino.

I could watch the Bellagio Fountians for hours. Actually the last 2 times in Vegas DH and I sat at an outdoor Bellagio lounge with a bottle or 2 of wine for several hours enjoying the view.

Funny how I like everything you are showing in Las Vegas except for when you walked through the actual casino part :rotfl2: I am not a gambler AT ALL! but loving everything else, the Eiffel Tower looked so fun and Burgr? YUM! I would get lost in the M&M store and the Coca Cola one too. I saw a Marshall's sign in one of your pictures too, have you ever been in one? I love that store! I have one across the street from my work and I love taking my lunch break there :thumbsup2

Hi Karin! Too bad for the SW delay. That was a long one. :sad2: Not like you could go have dinner or a drink because they keep telling you it will only be a few minutes. We always get the early bird on SW too. It used to get us A10 or so,but now we are lucky to get in the A's at all. I have noticed sometimes A1-15 are empty because they sell additional access to them, but no one takes ut, I guess it's all relative :goodvibes

Nice tour in Vegas so far. No lions at MGM? DI'd you make it to treasure island?

I am very sorry I have not been here in a long time. A lot of things happened and I just did not feel like posting. But let me begin at the beginning ..........

Shortly after I had posted the last update there was a wave of big tests that needed to be prepared and then marked. Now, I have three English groups and it was a lot of work, filling my weekends. Then there was preparation for the next days and so on ......... I was so tired and that we had a heatwave which prevented me from sleeping well did not help either.

Then 4 weeks ago we lost our furbaby. She was 16 years old and had lived with us for the last 15 1/2 years. She didn't look sick, but was just sleeping all the time. When she was eating less we took her to the vet, who told us that she needed emergency surgery. I don't want to go into too much detail, but it was heartbreaking having to leave that furball in a cage at the vet's. Surgery went well and we were able to take her home the next day. We were on cloud 9 when she just walked out of her basket and ate and drank and went to her favourite spot for a nap.
During the following night Tom woke me up because Pixie was acting strange. She was not moving much and seemed to sigh a lot. Around 5am while we were checking on her she took her last breath. Needless to say that it broke both our hearts to let her go, but at least she is no longer in any pain.
I was distracted while being at work, but poor Tom who is already retired and at home has missed and still misses her greatly and so do I.
We did discuss getting another cat and have agreed to do so, but will wait until we return from our vacation as to not have the cat getting used to us and then being taken to the "cat hotel". On the last but one day of school last week one of my girls offered my a kitten and we are now looking forward to picking up our new housemate when it is 3 months old. (Talked to the vet and she told us that this would be a good age to remove the kitten from its mother.

I took to vacation planning to distract me from missing my kittycat and we have now finally decided on what we are going to do. I'll post our plans lateron.

On Saturday my holiday started and I spent the first two days trying to sleep off the stress of the last week. On Monday I was ready to update here, when Tom told me that Photobucket now wants a whopping 399$ if you want to use it for "third party sharing" which includes posting photos on here. I am a Pro member of photobucket and have a paid account which they will support until Dec 31 2018, but I am not paying 399$ for photobucket's services, especially since it was more than just wonky lately.
Tom and I have decided to pay for one more year (my renewal date is late September) but I was looking for another photohosting site. I have now found one and need to get a bit more organized, but I should be able to update/post plans for this summer tomorrow.

I have a few days all typed out so expect a few more updates in the next few days.

And that concludes my real life updates ...........

Talk to you all tomorrow (it's already 10pm here).

I am so sorry about your your kitty. So true at least she isn't in pain.

You'll have to post pictures of your new fur baby when you get her/him.

So sorry for your loss, and for how stressful things have been for you as of late. You've got the love and support of all your Dis-friends behind you. It seems to me that sometimes life goes in seasons––seasons of highs and lows, etc. I, too, have been working through one of those more difficult seasons (though not comparable to losing a furry member of the family!) and hope (and have a feeling!) that things are about to turn around for both of us! Looking forward to hearing more about this trip and your new vacation plans soon!

So sorry for the loss of your kitty. We recently lost our cat that was almost 19 years old. We got her when she was 6 weeks old. I understand how hard it is. I'm sure you're both looking forward to getting your new fur baby.

Looking forward to reading about your travel and plans! I'm mostly a lurker but do enjoy your TR's.

I just discovered your TR and I am a fan. First off I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved cat.
I love that you and Tom loved Disney so much. It is a blessing to have someone who shares the same passion. My late husband shared my love of Disney too, and we passed that love onto our three kids. Since we live in Oregon we drove to DL every summer. He never did make it to WDW. I really miss our time together at the parks but have a lifetime of memories. These trip reports are such a special way for you to share with us your love for each other and Disney. Thank you. I will be following along.

How sweet about the new kitten. Very exciting :)

The end of school sounded very stressful. Thank goodness you're now on holiday.

What is this about Photobucket??? That sounds beyond outrageous! I use them too and haven't seen that news.

Looking forward to reading all about your plans! And most especially looking forward to seeing you and Tom very soon :cool1:

So sorry to hear about your kitty.

Love your trip reports and following along on your adventures.

Kim

I am very sorry for your loss. My hearts go out to you and Tom. Hope you will be able to find some comfort in the next few months especially on your holidays. :grouphug:

I know I sent you my condolences already, but again I'm so sorry about how quickly she went. That's great you have another kitty lined up...are you sure that you don't want two kitties? Two is always better than one!

I can't believe the news about Photobucket! Your report was the first that I had heard anything and yesterday I went out looking for information. I was sure that you were not talking US dollars, and the the $399 was some sort of Euro conversion, but when I found out the truth I was astonished! I have found another solution and it will make posting the TRs very tedious, but it is our own website where I will host the pictures and no one will take that away unless we stop renting properties for a living!

I was all ready to update yesterday when I opened up my new photo hosting site. Tried to upload and found out I had no clue, even though I had walked through the process 2 days prior. It took me two hours until I had figured it out again, :rotfl2:but I hope I'll remember how to do it tonight.
I will post my plans for our upcoming vacation, :jumping1:then go back and do replies that went with my last update, before going on with updating my TR. I have several days all done, so there should be a few updates in the next few days.

Thank you! It's hard to let go, especially when those furry friends have been with you for so long. And I will definitely post pictures of our new fur baby.

So sorry for your loss, and for how stressful things have been for you as of late. You've got the love and support of all your Dis-friends behind you.

Ah, thank you! I think it hit me that my class, who I loved dearly left our school as well. Too many loved faces that I won't see any more. But thank you for reminding me that DIS-friends are the VERY best. :grouphug:

It seems to me that sometimes life goes in seasons––seasons of highs and lows, etc. I, too, have been working through one of those more difficult seasons (though not comparable to losing a furry member of the family!) and hope (and have a feeling!) that things are about to turn around for both of us!

Life truly has its ups and downs. And I keep my fingers crossed that you and I both are on the way up. ;) Guess we will have some fun distraction round the corner ..........

Looking forward to hearing more about this trip and your new vacation plans soon!

Vacation plans coming up shortly. I have been trying to get things together to distract myself from missing Miss Pixie.

So sorry for the loss of your kitty. We recently lost our cat that was almost 19 years old. We got her when she was 6 weeks old. I understand how hard it is. I'm sure you're both looking forward to getting your new fur baby.

Ah, so sorry you lost your kitty as well. 19 years is an awesome age for them. Sounds like Pixie's "brother" the cat we had before her. We got him when he was 5 weeks old and just a handful of a cat. He lived to be nearly 20 years old and grew quite big. And yes, we are looking forward to a new furbaby, but don't want to put it through getting to know her new home and then being handed off to the very nice lady at the cat hotel. That's why we want to wait until we get back from our vacation.

Looking forward to reading about your travel and plans! I'm mostly a lurker but do enjoy your TR's.

Thank you for sticking with me ........ and coming out of lurkdome.

I just discovered your TR and I am a fan.

Ah, thank you! I am very glad to have you along for the ride.

First off I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved cat.

These are the best memories. We took our mom to DL a few years before she died and memories of that trip are some of the best. And even though your DH never made it to WDW with you, he will be there with you.
