Songs that mention "a bird" in them

How Much is that Doggie in the Window - Patti Page

How much is that doggie in the window?
The one with the waggly tail
How much is that doggie in the window?
I do hope that doggie's for sale
I must take a trip to California
And leave my poor sweetheart alone
If he has a dog, he won't be lonesome
And the doggie will have a good home
How much is that doggie in the window?
The one with the waggly tail
How much is that doggie in the window?
I do hope that doggie's for sale
I read in the papers there are robbers
With flashlights that shine in the dark
My love needs a doggie to protect him
And scare them away with one bark
I don't want a bunny or a kitty
I don't want a parrot that talks
I don't want a bowl of little fishies
He can't take a goldfish for a walk
How much is that doggie in the window?
The one with the waggly tail
How much is that doggie in the window?
I do hope that doggie's for sale

Spent the last 30 minutes trying to remember the title of the song. Knew bird and dog but didn’t in clue until now that it is just called “bird dog”, lol. Night time moment.

Great band from Toronto! I'm not sure how many people would have heard of them from the States.

I'm one of the very few in the States who's heard of them. It's a shame they never got any exposure here. Or hardly any.

Saw them in some club in Toronto the summer of 1982. Bought two of their albums the next day at a record store on Yonge Street.

The Beatles - Free as a Bird
Written in 1977 and recorded by John in his home studio. Added to and recorded as a complete song by Paul, George and Ringo in 1995

‘Bird’ is British slang for ‘girl’

Norwegian Wood
The Beatles
LYRICS
I once had a girl
Or should I say she once had me
She showed me her room
Isn't it good Norwegian wood?
She asked me to stay
And she told me to sit anywhere
So I looked around
And I noticed there wasn't a chair
I sat on a rug biding my time
Drinking her wine
We talked until two and then she said
"It's time for bed"
She told me she worked
In the morning and started to laugh
I told her I didn't
And crawled off to sleep in the bath
And when I awoke I was alone
This bird had flown
So I lit a fire
Isn't it good Norwegian wood?

I am Canadian and grew up in the 70s so I heard this song a lot as a child.

This song always brings back the sweetest memory of my grandson who is now 24. There used to be a lot of those Time-Warner commercials on tv at that time selling cd collections of different artists and the commercials always had a few clips of the songs in the collections. Anyway, Anne Murray singing 'Snowbird' was one of them. My grandson who was probably around 5yrs old at the time could be in a completely different room of the house but as soon as he heard this song he would come running and stand in front of the tv listening, lol.
