I think they are walking a fine line. Rey looks more like Rey than Batuuian. Just my eyes, perhaps.Exactly, but not exact replicas. So it looks like what people would wear in Batuu

Interesting. So is there an action that must be taken to "ENABLE" one's reputation?
My understanding is that by participating, you're probably already "enabled" for more interaction (hence the Chewie interaction, which is really neat), but you've been there so you obviously know more than me about this. Still a bit confused about how bluetooth works in the parks but I guess it automatically syncs with the systems there and recognizes when someone is playing?Interesting. I've been playing and building my profile. In my last visit, I had an encounter with Chewbacca while monkeying with my DataPad near the Resistance Outpost. The background noises indicated that something lost power (which usually triggers Chewie to "come fix it"). He strode over to me and pointed to a Comms Tower. His handler translated, "Can you hack the Tower?" Together we bent over the DataPad (Chewie provided the needed shade to read the screen) and completed the task. Sadly, it was the wrong tower ... but this made for a great encounter.
I walked away wondering if I were picked mostly at random (pick someone with a data pad) ... or based on my "reputation" (given the tasks I've completed).
Re: bold above: Yep, that is my take, too. Unless they state otherwise, I think it's safe to assume that the plan is the same for WDW with regards to GE, you'll see the characters wandering the area and have the opportunity to play along.Do we know if Hollywood Studios will have the same character interaction style as DL? DL has been known to have their characters wander around the park, but the same can't be said for Disney World. If they don't, how will HS go about character interactions?
I had great interactions with Chewbacca, Rey (we talked about the weather ) Stormtroopers and Vi Moradi. Kylo has not arrived at Batuu-DHS yet.Do we know if Hollywood Studios will have the same character interaction style as DL? Do be careful to pack additional energy rods for your data pads... If it is similar to DL, my battery was gone three times over in our 4-hour window and I needed an oven mitt to handle it. It is SUPER fun to scan and collect items and to HACK, too. The jobs were fun, too, but a lot more time spent. I did a job for Hondo at Smuggler's Run and it really gave me a chance to examine the queue and the Falcon in-depth. Totally worth it and a blast to boot!Great blog post! It's got me excited about the Play Disney Parks app. I'm a big fan of Sorcerers of the MK and I've played the game at Epcot as well. I love getting new cards and I've successfully traded with other people also playing the game. It's like adding a secret layer of immersion in MK, and I just love that. So...hoping SWGE's app will do really cool things and add a deeper, cool, level of immersion. The potential is limitless if it's done right, especially if you can then secretly interact with the CM's, so only those with the app know what's going on. Secret trade and mission information would be wicked cool. Super excited!
I'm confused. Three of the 'approved' bounding photos appeared, to my eye, as costumes. One of the 'not permitted' images was, best I can tell, negated simply because it was "a robe" and robes, by category, are not permitted.
FWIW, I wore neutral colors and a safari vest (lots of pockets, intended for photographers) on Wed. I wasn't attempting to 'bound' by any means yet several people asked me, "Do you work here?" I'd be asking the same of the fellow in the far right side of the 'approved' images!!
Thank you! It took me a long while ... but I better understand that now. Thanks!!They've said that they will allow people to look like Batuuians, but not a look that is exactly like a sw character
Yes, cm in merchandise stores, at Oga's and after the falcon ride will be able to see your status in your chosen role. Rebel, first order or scoundrel. Then the cm will react also considering their own roles that they choseSo what does your reputation do? Just allows for different interaction?
This is so good to hear. In DL, I had the reset problem several times and it ate my battery 3 times over in a 2-3 hour time span. Not to mention I needed an oven mitt to hold my phone! Can't wait to try it out again in WDW as it was really fun to check out.I hope they're play-testing the progress reset bug caused simply by the app crashing. Imagine having a couple hours worth of progress and then "poof" back to square one. I know the most recent update fixed the battery consumption so that's progress!
Recent updates have been performing much better at DL. I had experiences similar to yours in June and early July. During my visit last week (early Aug), I experienced NO crashes (!) and was able to retain all newly earned (re-earned?) titles. I don't think I lost any of the most recent stuff found/earned ... but haven't fully regained things found/earned in June. No big deal ... I s'pose I've got lots time ahead to work through this game. This is so good to hear. In DL, I had the reset problem several times and it ate my battery 3 times over in a 2-3 hour time span.
