Pre-trippie

Sunday 23 July
We were up, car parked and ready to go just after 9am. We had a good drive to Manchester, taking about 3 and a bit hours including a stop at services for our packed lunch. Abbey was not amused at being in the middle seat, but as her wee brother is about 8 inches taller than her she didn't really have much of a case...

We arrived earlier than our tour time so had a wander around the Trafford centre and stretched our legs. Then we were off to Old Trafford and just as we were nearly there, we realised that part of the main route was closed as there was a bike ride going on. Thankful for the nice man who gave us directions we were soon pulling up outside the stadium.

We were all given lanyards and headed to the museum for a look around before the tour started at 3pm.

They boys got certificates with their names at the end and Lewis got the new shorts to go with his top.

The tour was enjoyable even for someone like me who doesn't know anything about football. The boys absolutely loved it.

Whilst we were in here, Abbey said her head was sore. She'd had a bang on it the day before but thought she was ok. She really wasn't feeling well and said she wanted to go to A&E to get it checked as she was really worried about it. I was a bit concerned too, especially with us flying the next day so we did a search on google and found that we weren't far from Salford Royal. We were seen in about an hour or so and the nurses were so nice. It turned out she was fine with no real damage but I'm glad we had her checked out.

It was about 7pm now so we headed for our hotel, Premier Inn, Piccadilly. I thought I'd taken photos of the room as it was so nice and clean, but I didn't. We were really impressed with this hotel for the price, £36 per room, and would definitely stay here again.

We had originally planned to go to the cinema to see the new Cars movie, but with us being at the hospital we decided on finding food instead and headed for he nearest Pizza Hut.

Nicely filled up, we strolled back to the hotel and settled down for an early night. It had been a busy day.

Tomorrow - Disneyland!!
