In 2014, Disboard poster Geemo started a thread that listed the major conventions, events, and school breaks at or near DLR. Dis'ers seemed to find the thread helpful, so a 2015 version, a 2016 version, a 2017 version, and a 2018 version were created. This is a continuation of those threads, but for 2019!

This is NOT an official Calendar, for reference only. This is also not an all inclusive list, but I will do my best to keep it up to date. Please let me know if you hear of anything to add to the list.

Notes
The AP Blockout Calendar underwent major changes in 2019, with separate blockout dates for DL and DCA. In general, there are fewer blockout dates for DCA regardless of the pass and more for DL. Major blockout periods (Spring Break, Summer, and Christmas) are in the list above, but now denote if they are for DL or DCA (or both if nothing is specified). Check out the Blockout Calendar for the latest information:
https://disneyland.disney.go.com/passes/blockout-dates/

This list does not include all of the conventions/events scheduled at the Anaheim Convention Center. It is only a partial listing. A full listing is available on the Anaheim Convention Center Calendar.
http://www.anaheim.net/calendar.aspx?CID=26,
In terms of the conventions, for the most part, it doesn't seem like the conventions necessarily increase crowds in the parks. Large conventions are more likely to impacts availability at area hotels/motels and crowds in DTD (primarily in the evenings). There maybe some impacts of the days immediately before or after the conventions, but only a few conventions seem to actually result in Dis'ers reporting higher than expected crowds in the parks themselves. So, while large (or at least ones that look large on the calendar) conventions are listed in the calendar above, it does not mean that the parks will be busier than expected.

The Honda Center may also host events that could impact crowds at Disneyland.

Tom Bell maintains a list of Disneyland Events on wdwinfo.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland/events.html

There are a number of unofficial park days that happen throughout the year. Some are fairly large and can impact park crowds (e.g., Gay Days), while others (most) are fairly small and most guests won't notice that they are occurring.

*Starred events have historically began/occurred in that month, but the dates for 2019 have not yet been announced.

School Breaks
Below are a listing of some of the school breaks for select school districts. Some school districts have more than one schedule; when this occurred, I generally used the dates for the "Traditional" track (rather than "Year Around", "Modified", etc.). Also, note that school districts typically list days when school is not in session, which means the listed breaks may not include the weekend day.

(It's gotten to be a lot of work to try and keep up with so many different school districts. While I think there is some benefit to tracking individual districts, for 2019, I'm just going to do a handful of the big Southern California districts and then more generalized information for the rest. If you really want your local district included, please send me a link to their calendar.)

Mickey's Halloween Party, 2019
Party dates were announced on ddd, mmm dd via the <source>. Tickets go on sale to DLR Annual Passholders, DVC, and Disney Rewards Visa Card Holders (phone only) on <date> and to the general public on <date>. The dates when the MHP tickets sold out in past were tracked in these posts for 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.

Pricing is listed as (Discount/Regular) Price.
<date> (day) (price)

Note that costume guidelines changed for 2016. The new guidelines can be viewed on the MHP page of the Disneyland.com website.

Disclaimer: Even if the date is listed as sold out online, it is possible that tickets may still be available via the phone or in person at the ticket booths (this occurred in the past, but it is not known if it'll happen again in 2018). A limited number of tickets may also be available for "day of" purchase for onsite hotel guests, but it is not known if that will be the case again this year. It also looks like they stop selling tickets to MHP online on the day of the event. So if you want to purchase tickets online, be sure to buy them at least one day in advance.

M&F Parking Structure and Toy Story Parking Lot Closures
It's interesting to see when the parking facilities reached capacity. The Disneyland and Disneyland AP Twitter feeds often tweet out when the facilities close and re-open. It'll be interesting to see what happens in 2019 with the opening of Star Wars Land!

It’s HalloweenTime! We just got to the Parks last night.

  • Oogie Boogie Popcorn Bucket with Red Base: Last year’s Oogie Boogie Bucket is readily available throughout DL. It’s the premium Bucket at all of the stands I’ve seen (Town Square, Hub, Frontierland, NOS, BVS, Hyperion).
  • Green Apple Stein: Also readily available through out DL and DCA. You can get it with fruits (MS Fruit Cart), ice cream (Gibson Girl and Clarabelle's), soda (Plaza Inn). Price varies depending on where you buy it.
  • Green Apple Glow Cube: Available at Mint Julep Bar, Jolly Holiday, Lucky Fortune Cookery.
  • Halloween Travel Mug: Pretty much anywhere where drinks are sold.
  • Round Halloween Popcorn Bucket: Pretty much anywhere Popcorn is sold. DL has the Halloween logo and DCA features Oogie.
  • Headless Horseman Glow Clip & Straw: Seems to be available at a lot of CS locations. I saw it at Plaza Inn, Jolly Holiday, Refreshment Corner, Cocina, etc.
  • Coco Jarrita: Rancho did not have it, but Cocina Cucamonga had them. They're ceramic!
  • Tire Pumpkin Straw Glow Topper: Available at many of the Cozy Cones.
  • Purple Apple Glow Cube: Available only at the Carthay Circle Lounge and Restaurant with the specialty martini.
In terms of the non-novelty items...
  • MS Starbucks had the Adventureland and NOS YAH mugs and the Fantasyland ornament.
  • Slinky Dog earband is here! I saw it the hat shop on MS.
  • The new Maleficient earband and the Coco earbands are also available.
  • Rainbow Spirit Jerseys were available at the Emporium and Clothier.
On a side note, for those that are going to use mobile order to order food in advance, be aware that the system does not reserve the item for you. So if they sell out of the item before your window arrives or before you arrive, you won’t know until you go to pick up your order. The CM told me they know that’s a limitation with the system and she thinks IT was working on it, but didn’t know if or when it would be fixed.

The parks opened at 9:00 am and we got there a little after 9. Harbor side security was back to bus stop 1. They were trying to keep the lines organized. No Bag line was in the middle. Bags include large wallets with zippers.

Cafe Orleans: No gumbo! The current (only) seasonal soup is the corn chowder. :(

Disneyland Dining FAQ

Basic Information
The Disneyland Resort has a number of dining venues scattered throughout the parks, hotels, and DTD. There is a mixture of table service, counter/quick service, and snack locations. A listing of the locations is available on the Disneyland website. Places like WDWinfo and Allears have menus, but how current they are varies by location.
Disneyland.com: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/
WDW Info: http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland/dining-disneyland-park.htm
Allears.net: http://allears.net/dlr/din/menu/menus.htm

Reservations/Priority Seating
Most of the table service locations accept dining reservations/priority seating requests. These can be made online, by calling Disneyland Dining, or via the official Disneyland App. Standard dining reservations open 60-days in advance, one day at a time.

Online: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/
Call: (714) 781-DINE or (714) 781-3463 (daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM pacific time).

The online dining reservations system rolls to a new day somewhere between midnight and 7:00 am pacific time. It seems like it’s not always consistent, but more Dis’ers seem to report that at least some things are opening at midnight.

Please note that if you try to make a reservation right at the 60-day mark and nothing is available, it is more likely that they have not yet loaded the reservations into the system (opposed to already being fully booked). Also, there are often delays at the start of a new “season” or a new month.

When making a reservation, be sure to include everyone, including babies, in the party size.

Cancellations
A credit card number is required at the time of booking. If you are a no show or cancel to close to the time of the reservation, you will be charged a $10 per person fee. If at least one person shows up to honor the reservation, you will not be charged the no show fee.

Advance dining reservations can be cancelled on-line, via the phone, or in the app. Note that advanced dining reservations cannot be cancelled via the app if the reservation is within the next 24-hours (e.g., if the advanced dining reservation is for 2:00 pm on Tuesday, you must cancel by 1:59 pm Monday if you want to use the Disneyland App). Reservations can be canceled online within the 24-hour window.

The Disneyland website and reservation confirmations do not specify exactly when dining reservations must be cancelled by, but most reports seem to indicate they must be cancelled at least on the day before the reservation (e.g., a Tuesday reservation must be cancelled on Monday).

Character Meals
Disneyland and the Hotels offer a variety of character meal opportunities.
  • Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures (Napa Rose, GCH) (Breakfast)
  • Donald Duck's Seaside Breakfast (Disney's PCH Grill, PPH) (Breakfast)
  • Goofy's Kitchen (Disneyland Hotel) (Breakfast, Dinner)
  • Mickey's Tales of Adventure Breakfast (Storytellers Cafe, GCH) (Breakfast)
  • Minnie & Friends - Breakfast in the Park (Plaza Inn, Disneyland) (Breakfast) - This is the only character meal located in the parks (currently). Please note that the Plaza Inn is a character buffet in the morning and it takes reservations. For lunch and dinner, it becomes a counter service location and does not take reservation (nor does it have characters).

Dining Packages & Other Show Information
Disneyland offers a number of different dining packages that include a meal or some type of food offering and preferred viewing for one of the many entertainment offerings.

Fantasmic!
There are several different dining packages associated with Fantasmic!: three are table service options (two resturants to choose from) and one is an on-the-go option.

Fantasmic! Dining Package
There are two different dining packages offered for Fantasmic!:
  • Blue Bayou – Dining packages are available at lunch (starting at 11:30 am) and dinner (starting at 4:00 pm). The current price is $62/$29 for lunch (adult/child) and $72/$29 for dinner (tax and gratuity not included).
  • River Belle Terrace – Dining packages are available for lunch (starting at 1:00 pm) and dinner (starting at 4:00 pm). The current price is $45/$25 for lunch and $45/25 for dinner (tax and gratuity not included).
Blue Bayou and River Belle Terrace Dining package reservations can be reserved online.

As of last information, the Blue Bayou, River Belle Terrace, and Hungry Bear Dining Packages have pseudo-separate viewing areas. They are contagious and located along the water front, but initially, CMs do try to keep guests within their assigned viewing area. It is often reported that closer to show time (i.e., after most guests have arrived), CMs do not enforce the specific viewing area requirements as tightly (this can vary by night, by CM, etc.).

Hungry Bear On-The-Go Dining Package
Hungry Bear On-the-Go Dining packages are also available. The price is $29.99 adult/$19.99 child (tax and gratuity not included). Hungry Bear One-The-Go Dining Packages can also be reserved online.

River Belle Terrace Fantasmic! Viewing Package
In addition to the regular Fantasmic! dining package offered at the River Belle Terrace, there is also a premium viewing option. There is a single seating per night (usually at 8:00 pm) and guests are able to watch Fantasmic! from their table at the RBT. There is an upcharge for the dining package (an additional $25 adult/$15 child on top of the price of the regular RBT F! Dining package) and it can only be booked via the phone. Please see Fantasmic Dining Packages, Delightful Dining with an Unforgettable Finish, River Belle Terrace for more information.

The price is $40 (adult)/$25 (child) and AP discounts apply.

For more information, see the Plaza Inn Dining Packages website.

This package (or a similar one) has also been offered for the Christmas Parade. In general, it is offered for whatever parade is being currently presented in the park.

World of Color
World of Color Dining Package
There are two different dining packages offered for the World of Color in DCA:

<Info}

Other Dining Packages
Frozen Dining Package
  • Disboard Thread: <TBD>
Offered at the Carthay Circle Restaurant during lunch, the package includes a three-course meal from a prix fixe menu and reserved seating at Frozen – Live at the Hyperion. The current price is $89 (adult)/$45 (children).

For more information see Frozen Dining Packages.

Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge Experience
Another offering is the Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge, located in the upper level of Star Wars Launch Bay building. It is not designed to be a fireworks viewing party.

Seasonal Dining Packages
Along with the regular dining packages, Disneyland Resort periodically offers seasonal dining packages. These have included things like the Mickey’s Halloween Party Dining Package. It is not known if any of these will return once they end in a given year.

Mobile Ordering
  • Disboard Thread: <TBD>
One of the newest features included in the official Disneyland App is the ability to place mobile orders at select counter service and snack locations throughout the parks. Guests must have an active Disneyland.com account and a credit card associated with that account.

From within the Disneyland App, there are a couple of different ways to access mobile ordering. Two of the most common are either directly via the resturant on the map via the plus sign on the bottom menu. The map is most useful when you know which venue you specifically want to order from. The plus sign is useful if you want to see all of the options available.

From the map, select the dining location that you are interested in ordering from and then tap on "Order Food". From there, you will be shown a selection of windows ranges (e.g., "now - 2:50 pm, 2:50 pm - 3:20 pm, etc.). Select the time window that fits best to your schedule.

From the plus sign, select "Order Food". From there, you will be presented with a list of all of the places that accept mobile orders and the available time windows. Select the time window that fits best to your schedule.

After you select the time window, you will be asked to sign into your Disneyland account. After successfully authenticating your account, you'll be presented with a menu of the available items that can be mobile ordered. Tap on the item you want to order and then select the quantity you want. You can also customize the order (look for "Customize Your Selection" at the bottom of the item screen) and select your sides. Tap on the "+Add" button when you're ready to add it your cart. Repeat the process for all items you want to mobile order.

Click on "View My Order" when you're finished selecting items. You can either "Modify Order" if you need to make ay changes or "Review Order Summary" if you're ready to check out. The "Review Order Summary" page will display the items being ordered, any discounts that are applicable, and your payment method. Click on "Purchase" when you're ready to place your order.

After you place your order, you'll be given an order number. When your time window opens, go to the resturant and when you've arrived, tap on "I'm Here. Prepare My Order". When your order is ready, they'll either call out your name or order number and you can pick-up your items.

Current locations that accept Mobile Ordering include:
  • Bengal Barbecue
  • Edelweiss Snacks
  • Galactic Grill
  • Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor
  • Harbor Galley
  • Hungry Bear Restaurant
  • Jolly Holiday Bakery Café
  • Red Rose Taverne
  • Refreshment Corner
  • Royal Street Veranda
  • Stage Door Café
  • Tiki Juice Bar*
  • Award Wieners
  • Bayside Brews
  • Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream
  • Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill
  • Corn Dog Castle
  • Flo’s V8 Café
  • Hollywood Lounge*
  • Lucky Fortune Cookery
  • Pacific Wharf Café
  • Paradise Garden Grill
  • Smokejumper Grill
  • Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill
  • White Water Snacks

*At most locations, you wait until you hear your name/number called and then you can pick-up your food. There are a few locations where you must stand in line, tell the CM at the mobile ordering window/counter/register you name/number and then they’ll get your order. This is the case for Tiki Juice Bar and Hollywood Lounge (I do not know if there are others places).

Side Note: It’s worth noting that not all items are always available via Mobile Ordering. While most items are available, occasionally some of the seasonal and/or promotion items are not offered.
