That horrible QUESTION...

Everyone who knows me knows that I am a Disney nut! So they don't even ask me anymore!!!!

My response is when they have to take the Mickey Mouse ears off my head and loosen my autograph book out of my cold, dead hands I will be too old.

They hardly ever ask again - I don't know why? lol

ROTFLMAO!!! BetsyAnn, may I use that? That is one of the best that I've heard, and the best laugh I've had in a while. Thanks

My fiance and I are planning our 2nd trip to wdw for this september for our honeymoon. When we went the first time in 1999 many people thought we were nuts because we dont' have kids....

And now many people are baffled why we are going to WDW for our honeymoon, they've asked me why dont' we just wait until we have kids to go to WDW and go somewhere "romantic" like Mexico or Jamaca for our honeymoon.

I told them you dont' have to have kids or be a kid to enjoy WDW. And that we had such a great time last time we cant' think of anywhere better to go for our honeymoon.

Unfortunately people will always be nosy and there's not much you can do abotu it!

When People say: Again? I say YES! Why? My answer: Why do the stars go on shining......!

I just tell people that the reason I continue to go back is because they do whatever they have to do to make me happy, and I don't get any attitude. I get enough attitude living my daily life, and don't want it on vacation!!!!!!!

I live in Orlando so I can visit Disney anytime to see my three favorite mountains...Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, & Thunder Mountain!JohnCombsWebPage :pinkbounc :pinkbounc

Yes, I'm sorta sick of people asking me why I continue to go to WDW year after year. Example: "You're going to Disney AGAIN???? Haven't you had enough of that place yet??"

I really hate the fact that we (Disney fanatics) seem to have to explain why we enjoy Disney so much. There have probably been times when I've sounded almost apologetic :(

But, now that I'm planning my 14th trip, I just tell people that "I've been everywhere from Puerto Rico to Cancun. There's not a place in the world I'd rather go to more than Disney!"

Most people just roll their eyes

I couldn't care less....I'm a Disney Fanatic and PROUD OF IT :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :) :) :)

I've gone to Disneyland annually with a group of friends and family every year since 1989. I've also gone with friends and family to WDW 3 times over the last decade. Inevitably I will get a question from a friend or co-worker of aren't you tired of going there? Now mind you these are the same people who will go to the same campground for a week every year. They just don't get it. I've given up trying to explain it. I've only gone to Disneyland solo one time (had an extra day after a conference) and never solo to WDW. After reading some of these posts, I'm motivated to try it sometime soon. Next year is the big 50 for me. I will definitely be going to WDW with friends and family. Now I might splurge and schedule a solo trip as well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

My family, friends and co-workers are so used to me being a total Disney Nut that they do not even think twice about me going to WDW 3-4 times a year. Matter of fact I was just at WDW from 7/22-7/30 with my family & friends and now I am going back solo TOMORROW for 6 days to attend the big pin event. No one was even surprised that I was returning to WDW again only 9 days after I had just come home!! LOL!!!

My standard response is: I've been to a bunch of different places on vacation (and continue to visit other locations), but every time I've gone to Disney World I've had a GREAT vacation -- from the moment I pull up at my resort to the moment I check out. I've never been to any other resort area where the vast majority of the employees are not only nice, but are some of the nicest people I've ever met. Why wouldn't I go back?

You think explaining your love for Disney is hard? Try having to constantly explain why you're a vegitarian:rolleyes:

I choose my friends and acquaintances carefully, so I've rarely been asked to explain my love for WDW; it's not an issue in my social circle.

However, I am cognizant of the fact that there are millions of fools whose idea of a great vacation is lying on a beach drunk for a week, with plenty of "clubbing" (LOL) after sundown. The concept of a Disney vacation- or any other edifying activity- is beyond the ken of morons like this, and we should be glad of it. I'd hate to see them infect a place I love so much anyway.

Another faction deplores Disney's "hype" and "commercialism," decrying it as an "escapist vision" of a utopian world that never was and never will be.

I suppose they'd be more inclined to visit WDW if it was replete with drive-by shootings, crack houses and a nice red light district. ;)

In short, there are plenty of people out there who are either too stupid or too cynical (or, perhaps, both) to "get" Disney. That's great; it just leaves more room there for the rest of us!!

I guess that I've been lucky and no one has really asked me face to face, why I go to WDW. I just like everything about Disney. Being at WDW makes me smile and I feel like a kid. WDW still has a "WOW" facter for me. I really don't know why. It just does.

Ray :)

My friends and my colleagues are all monstrously jealous and want to go along. I use my office computer's screensaver to count down the days...lately many people have been stopping by my desk to ask how many days are left before my trip.

The answer for today is 13 days left!

I'm "visiting" over here trying to find pointers for when I do a quick weekend at US/IOA without DH and the kids. I think no matter what you situation is in going to WDW you will get those who question why you would go...again..with kids that age (too young too old). I have a dear friend that is convinced that any amusement park is not for kids. She had a fit when her ex took their son to SixFlags when he was about 7 or 8 ...."they just went for the adults, there is nothing for kids to do there". She has family that camps at FW for 2 weeks a yr and has offered to take her DS free of charge, or let her and her DS go with them and stay in their camper. She will not do it and has no interest in it. We on the otherhand love WDW and US/IOA. Its only been 4 months since we went to US/IOA and I am having major withdrawl.

Our entire family makes fun of us every time we go - they can't understand that there's nowhere else we want to go. But it's true - we're not big beach people, so I can't imagine going to an island. We're not into history or sightseeing (gosh - I realize how shallow I sound) so WDW is the perfect place. And now that we have a new baby in the family, we're so excited to have him experience the magic with us!

WE went to a lodge in the muskokas of ontario can. 3 nights cost us 1500.00 can with 2 meals . I will not do that again. We went to wdw in Jan ffor 9 nights and our son joined us for 4 nights and it cost us 4100. including flights. go figure.

DH and I went for our 12th anniv. (we don't have kids) My family thought it was cute and fun. Now that we are planning a 2002 and 2003 trip, they think we are nuts!

When I first found these boards and showed them to DH, we had a BIG laugh over people who just go the WDW year after year..... What a difference one trip makes. I cannot think of a more romantic, fun place. We truely had the vacation of a lifetime.... I am almost afraid to go back.... I am afraid it won't be as FANTABLOUS as I remember.
