That is NOT very magical!! A Nov 2014 Baby's First Trip *NEW 03/10/18!*

Glad to see you back and updating!

What a scary incident with needing to go to the hospital right before your trip. Glad you recovered quickly.

Happy to hear that E travelled so well.

We love AKL - such a great resort. There are some LONG hallways there, though.

I will check out your DLR PTR too - we just got back from there.

Thanks for joining in! I've meant to get myself caught up on your latest report but the last week or two have been crazy busy so I haven't had much fun time!

AKL really is a wonderful resort, I really didn't think that I would like it as much as I do and it's now one of my favourites.

Following along! Your little girl is absolutely adorable. I'm always curious how WDW trips go with little ones for the future so interested to hear more. And excited to hear about your stay at AKL... Hoping to stay there in April 2017!!

:welcome: Thanks for stopping by and commenting! I read a bunch of reports about travelling with little ones before our trip too and I think the biggest thing to take away is that no two trips are the same and your kids will probably surprise you at some point lol I hope that you get to stay at AKL next year, it is such a wonderful resort!

Yay! I found your TR again! So happy you were able to go on your trip - hopefully you felt better for the whole time. The AKL is such a beautiful resort - hope to convince the family to stay there next year.

Welcome back!! It was definitely a relief to be able to go on our trip. I'll try to post lots of AKL pictures that you can use to help convince your family lol It is one of my favourite resorts, definitely worth a visit!

Friday, November 14th, 2014 - Part 1

Evelyn had a great first sleep at AKL! She stayed in the playpen all night and slept soundly. She's always been a good sleeper so I wasn't overly worried, but this was a new environment and she doesn't sleep in her playpen all that often so I wasn't sure how she would do.

I, on the other hand, did not sleep so well. I'm a terrible sleeper to begin with, and with all of the excitement of the last couple of days, and worries on my mind, I just couldn't sleep. At 5:30am I decided to get up and get showered. Evelyn must have sensed me getting up because she woke up before I was able to get into the water. I knew she would be hungry, so I made her a bottle and put her on the bed with DH while I hopped in the shower.

She gobbled up her bottle and then I gave her a bath once I was out of the shower.

I had brought some food in the room, knowing that Evelyn likes to eat as soon as her eyes are open in the morning so I made her some oatmeal. She decided that one bowl wasn't enough and she was still hungry, so I gave her another! She is a pretty tiny girl, always on the low end of the weight curves for her age, but she eats like there is no tomorrow! Because of her stomach issues and hard time with weight gain her dietician told us to just let her eat, so that's what we did.

All of that eating must have tired her out, so she went back down for a little nap before we left the room for the morning. This allowed me to take my time getting ready, and take in some of the scenery - although it was a really grey and dreary morning.

I took some photos of the animals from our balcony, but for some reason this one is the only one in that section of my photos so I'll post more later!

We had reservations this morning at Boma. I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant. We decided to walk over from Kidani Village to Jambo house so DH and E could see some more of the resort.

We were there a little early, so we took a quick walk through the gift shop

Our reservation was for 9 and we got in right on time, despite it being pretty busy. There was a bit of a line at each of the food stations but they moved quickly.

Evelyn ate her first Mickey waffle this morning!
ry%3D400

She loved it!

I didn't eat a whole lot this morning because I didn't want to push my stomach further than I should, but I really enjoyed everything that I ate. All of our food was hot, the service was quick, and Boma was quickly becoming one of my favourite WDW restaurants!

Our park plans for this day only consisted of MVMCP so we had the morning to do whatever we wanted.

After breakfast we chose to explore Jambo house a little. DH had never been to AKL before, and I didn't get a lot of time to explore on my last trip so we both looked forward to it.

My mom had gotten us Memory Maker for Christmas (a little early, since our trip was in November lol) and we saw a photo pass photographer in the JH lobby so we stopped for a few photos.

After a while of looking around we started to walk back to our room so that E could have some rest before we went back out later in the afternoon. She loved being in the stroller and looking around at everything and kept trying to sit up higher or jump right out of the stroller, as you can see from this photo lol She was loving her first WDW trip!

Up Next... DTD and MVMCP!

Just bumping this up! I'm on vacation from work this week so I'm hoping to get in another update or two while I'm off!

Friday, November 14th, 2014 - Part 2

This is another, not-so-exciting update - I promise, the good stuff is coming soon!

After we explored Jambo House, we walked back to our room at Kidani to have a rest before our afternoon festivities.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

A little after 1pm, we got all of our things together and left the room to head for DTD. It was still a bit chilly outside - DH was comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt but E and I had a couple more layers on.
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

I didn't make notes but I'm pretty sure that we didn't wait long for a bus and we were soon arriving at DTD.
ry%3D400

We met up with my mom when we got there. She had our tickets for the MVMCP that night so she wanted to get them to us so that we didn't have to try and meet up outside the MK gates.

We started to immerse ourselves in the Disney atmosphere by looking around in some of the shops. Evelyn had a great time looking around at all of the bright sights.

We had EoS for lunch. This was a new one for us to try. I had heard so many good things and figured it would be perfect for a day like this. I failed to write down what we ate but I remember that we enjoyed it all! I was surprised that I loved the menu here as much as I did - sandwiches aren't normally one of my favourites.

It was about 3:30pm when we got back to AKL to get ourselves ready for MVMCP. We trudged back down the long alway yet again - all of the extra calories we were eating on this trip were definitely being worked off with all of that walking!

Up next...MVMCP!

That sounds like a great way to start off a trip with a baby. I'm sure it was nice getting her slowly used to all her new surroundings.

I can't wait to hear about MVMCP!

It really was nice! Our trips always used to be so fast paced, sometimes it felt like we didn't actually take the time to enjoy things. The last few trips I've made sure that we took some time to slow down and just take it all in and it makes the trips so much more enjoyable.

Love Boma for breakfast - so good!

Glad you had a nice, easy day with exploring the resort and Downtown Disney.

Looking forward to hearing about the party!

Boma is definitely one of my new favourites! Everything was delicious and they have some unique offerings too.

Hello again!! It has once again been a while since I've posted, but I want to get this report finished. And part of the reason for that is that I finally have another trip in the works!! E and I are going to be going for a week in February/March with my parents (who are now DVC owners!) Because of some recent life changes I didn't think I'd be able to get back to the world for a while, but now we are only about 7 months out!

So I left us off at DTD, with plans to visit MVMCP that night...

We got back to AKL at around 3:30pm, and changed our clothes and got ready for the party.

We got into MK early, as usual and were one of the first groups of people in line for the party. It was absolutely PACKED in MK at this time. I was feeling a lot of anxiety and struggling with the amount of people that were everywhere. I never remember feeling that way at WDW before.

We all decided to grab a quick dinner at Pinocchio's Village Haus. It wasn't anything special. I don't even remember what I ate.

After we finished eating, it was time for E's first ever ride at WDW. This was a big moment. I had to decide what would be her first ride experience ever - not something that you can ever re-do! But luckily, I had a ride in mind that I knew I would never regret being her first ride.

Here's a clue...

enhance

That was probably far too obvious, but her first ride ever was It's A Small World!! This ride has a lot of meaning for me, and it's my grandmother's favourite ride so the fact that she got to be there when E rode it for the first time meant the world to me.

E LOVED IASW. She was so excited. Her eyes lit up. She clapped her little hands. And it was an amazing experience. I even got tears in my eyes watching her with my grandmother.

After we got off of IASW, the crowds were starting to thin out thankfully. I was feeling much better by this point. We decided to ride Peter Pan's Flight since we were right there. The wait time said 30 minutes, but we definitely didn't wait that long - which is great for that ride! E fell asleep while in the Tula carrier waiting for this ride, and slept through the entire thing. She stayed asleep on me until we got spots for the parade.

We had some cocoa and cookies (yum!), browsed some of the shops along Main Street, and danced and sang while we waited for the parade to start.

We got a couple of photos taken in front of the castle

enhance

And took some photos of each other while we were waiting and having fun!

We stayed for a little while longer, but E started to get cranky. She was tired, and it had been a long day. So we decided to grab a bus back to AKL to get some much needed rest. We didn't get the full time of our party passes, but I was happy with what we had experienced, and was still quite weak and tired from how sick I had been the previous couple of days, so I needed the rest. We went back out to the bus stops and luck was on our side - we walked right onto a bus! By the time we got back to our room and got settled in for the night it was after 10pm. I was hoping that E would have a full night's sleep - we all needed her to.

Did she sleep all night? Find out in the next update!

We just got back from another wonderful trip! Maybe now I will finish this report?? I find myself missing Disney and the boards lately!

I am glad to hear you had a great Disney trip! Those post-Disney blues are tough, but I feel like TR writing helps ease the pain a little bit.

And once again I just returned from another fabulous trip and have plans of finishing this TR. Is anyone still around to read some more about taking a 9 month old to WDW??

And if you check my signature, you'll see something new... I just joined DVC last week!! So there will be many more trips to come and I couldn't be more excited :)

Congrats on becoming a DVC member! How exciting! Where's your home resort? How many trips are already in the books? :rotfl2:

This is really delayed but thank you!! I'm going on my first trip with my own DVC points in exactly one month! And we have another trip booked for November of this year. I bought at the Polynesian, probably my second favourite resort of all time so I'm super excited.

I'm going to finish this TR if it's the last thing I do!! I have a couple of new reports on the go (see my signature for the links) and I will be starting a brand new one for the trip we are going on exactly one month from today!!

Saturday, November 15th, 2014

We had an easy morning today, and even slept in a little. I took the opportunity to take some more photos out on our balcony. I really could get used to this view every day!

It wasn't overly busy in there so we were quick to eat and be on our way. Today's park was...

Animal Kingdom!!

While we were waiting for the park to open Evelyn sat in her stroller and clapped and danced along with the music that they were playing.

We took our time, walking around and enjoying the beautiful atmosphere. Our first destination was Rafiki's Planet Watch, but we stopped along the way at whatever peaked our interest (popped into some shops, watched the African band playing, etc.) And of course, I took more photos.

Up Next... more Animal Kingdom!

Happy Weekend! I hope that everyone is enjoying their weekend. I'm relaxing in between doing household chores and starting some spring cleaning.

So I left us off at Animal Kingdom...

We had a FP for Kilimanjaro Safari for 11:30 so that is where we headed next. We got right on with no wait and were in the front row of our vehicle! Our driver's name was Christopher and he was great. We managed to see most of the animals and Evelyn absolutely LOVED it.

She stayed asleep in the carrier throughout the bus ride back to AKL, so when we disembarked we walked out by the pool for a bit and grabbed a salad for a snack. When we got back to the room E woke up and wanted a bottle.

I must have taken some more photos out the balcony...

I was a bit nervous about her meeting characters but she surprised me and did amazingly well... Giraffes out the balcony is the best, and I can't wait to see how excited Evelyn is this time now that she will be 4 on our trip
