The DisFort's Chit Chat Cafe

A few days ago, on a different thread, there was a little discussion about what STL was and I made reference to it being one of the logos for the best team in MLB. j

Jim,

We can appreciate the hyperbole in your statement. You're proud of your home team.

We get it.

Saint Louis is a good small market team. Great history and great achievements - not Chicago, not New York, not any of the Cali teams. Nope, no sir. But a contender for sure.

But the best logo has to be the Chief - Chief Wahoo.

Do the Cards have a movie about them?

AND a sequel?

Cleveland is small market too. Throw us a bone. Please.

Now I get it. I forgot about the Ohio connection. And yes, the Indians.

It's funny about small markets. But when you look at annual attendance, STL is up there with the big boys. Here's last years. We are in the #2 spot so far this year.

Not surprised at the strong attendance for St. Louis. Historically good team and well run. Bama Ed

Ouch... Funny, but stinging. :D

I'll give the Indians some love. After all, they are an AL team and we rarely have to play against them.

To be fair to Ed (and all Indians fans) - things are much different now than they were in the days of Major League. I went to college in central OH in the early to mid 90's, leading right up to some of there more successful years - and I was surrounded by lifelong fans from around the state. Their experience of baseball when I graduated in '96 was far different than when I had arrived in '92 (the arrival of Jacob's Field in '94 didn't hurt either).

So today was Friday, on my way home last night my check engine light came on for the jeep. Throttle position sensor, asked them to change it last time they had the jeep. Now in shop they may have it done by Weds. Hey guys if it is not done Tuesday, you will have it awhile. So on Monday and possibly Tuesday it looks like I will be taking the big truck to work. That was not in the plans. But oh well life happens. So spent today working on the trailer, added a shelf in the outdoor kitchen cabinets, vacuumed after the last trip, and changed the GFCI receptacle in the bathroom. So far the GFCI has not tripped and it has been a few hours, maybe the one from the factory was bad.....hmm suggested that to Camping World, they said they could not get it to trip. Sad when a homeowner is more technically qualified than a technician you are paying big bucks for.
So the rest of the weekend will be GSP prep, both the truck and trailer. It is almost time to roll folks !!!!

A TPS is $30 at AutoZone and 10 minutes. The hardest part is getting the wire connector apart.

Spending the weekend away with DW, can you guess where we are.

If you guessed Niagara Falls you’re right. We are on the Canadian side for a book signing convention on Saturday.
Where is the POTC and what is the Space Needle looking thing? I didn't know they had anything like that up there.

The POTC is at a wax museum. The space needle thing is the Skylon Tower restaurant, it does one complete revolution in an hour.

There is a whole street of weird shops.

They also have a Rainforest Cafe and a Margaritaville. Going to scope out the casino in a little bit.

So today finds us along with many others headed to GSP prepping our trailers for the trip. Fridge is on, foodstuffs getting loaded, double checking my lists, and checking again. Got covers for the couches to protect from the dog. So far the GFCI outlet I changed yesterday has not tripped, that is a good sign. Hopefully it was just a bad outlet and problem is fixed.
I also got my porch pressure washed this morning, I have been busy. :faint:

May not be camping but it is a nice evening for a fire.

Ugh...was a perfect weather weekend for camping here in CT (as it was in VT), but camper still sitting in driveway...3 baseball games for son took precedence. I mean, that was great too, being able to see his games, but man to be at the campground around the fire making s’mores....

So today was return to work, this morning was 48 degrees, and it peaked this afternoon around 67 degrees. Was a beautiful day out tilling the fields.
