The DisFort's Chit Chat Cafe

We are three doses in and medicine is helping. We are not in the clear yet but we are at least on our way up. Mallory went to the market today. It is the last one till spring. I bought her biscuits so we don’t run out. She will not be happy on Saturdays now. Thankfully she will be traveling quite a few Saturdays in dec and Jan. Then we just have to get through feb.

on the pressure sore situation, still looks good. We go to the vet tomorrow. i really want her to adjust to that food though.

So the drugs are definitely helping craptastic. I am hoping we might be passed that nickname by tomorrow. We go to the vet today, more for her sore. Will talk to her though about what to do once we are done with the drugs. i am afraid once off the drugs we might be back to craptastic. for right now I am just happy that clean up is minimal again.

super glad the bad days we were home from work. At least that timing was good.

craptastic in her cabana.

So sorry about Mallory. So hard when our fur babies are under the weather. Our Thanksgiving was not good. On Wednesday @ 1:00 AM, I had to take him to our hospital. Early Thursday they called & said he was being air lifted to Austin. He has pneumonia from the food in his left lung. With not much oxygen, they put him in a coma on a ventilator to help the oxygen level to come up. They kept telling me, you need to make a decision. I said God will make his decision & Arnold is wonderful. His lungs are clearing up & hopefully he will be home before this week. I give all the praise to God & our wonderful doctor! Glad everyone’s Thanksgiving was blessed as we have so much to be thankful for.

Gloria, so sorry to hear about your thanksgiving. Am so glad Arnold seems to have turned a good corner. Continued good thoughts your way for a good recovery and a homecoming soon.

On the Mallory front we seem to be going up in the world. Definitely getting better. She is still having a few issues but we are also on the way up.

I am keep Arnold in my thoughts. Good vibes going your way.

Gloria,

Sorry to hear about Arnold. It's hard to keep a good man (or woman) down, so I'm not surprised he is on the rebound. I hope he gets home soon.

Tell him when he swallows, the food is supposed to go down the other tube. :)

Taking a moment to check in while things are quieter. It has been a whirlwind of activities between work, the kids, holidays and wedding planning. I got one last camping weekend in Veterans day weekend before winterizing the RV for the season and tucking it away at the house. I still have some cleaning and interior maintenance I want to do. Though with the RV home, that is just firing up the furnace for a bit so that its comfortable to work inside. I suspect much of that will happen after the new year.

We are 25 days till the wedding!!!! As you can guess we are busy! We just finalized our cake design with Disney as the focal in that with a tie in to our choice of blue and silver as our wedding colors and allowing for decorations to show off the red and green of the season. I been keeping busy on the yard and pulling together all the little things with Melissa, from signs and other crafting projects, to running our errands to have everything ready for the big day.

To make sure we know December is the busiest time of the year, we also have her big 4-0 birthday on the 15, and lots of kid activities with concerts and shows sprinkled through the month. Her friends have been planning more of a pre-wedding celebration then a traditional shower for her. We don't need much for gifts, though we did register for items we would like for the house. With blending two homes, the list is shorter then young newlyweds for sure.

We also have our Honeymoon pretty well booked out with Keys to the kingdom tour, Victoria and Alberts dinner on New Years Day, plus lots of time in our favorite place on earth. Tomorrow we go pick up both our custom wedding bands, and our marriage license and sneak in a lunch we normally do not get to have together.

This week we are decorating the house for the holidays. We agreed to make it merry and bright, but easy to pack up after we return from our honeymoon. So far we the main tree is up and our first decoration has been placed. And more will join it tonight.

We are also putting another tree up near a front window that we can see every evening we return home this month. We don't have a lot of traffic living on a cul-da-sac, though the outside decorations are for as much as others that enjoy driving around and viewing each others.

More updates to come as I find the time.

I am getting ready to submit my hard work to the 501st for approval. I have done an event as a squire, helping get Stormtroopers and Flametroopers ready to go. It is a great group of guys and looking forward to a fun future with them. Maybe if I am lucky, can get an event or two done in Florida....

That is awesome! I have a racing buddy that does that as well around the N. VA area as a Chewbacca, stormtrooper and I think even as an Empire ranking officer. If you run into a Matt from VA, asking him about NASA racing or the frenchmans pool party. I am sure he will laugh at the small world we have.

@garneska I hope mal is back on the road to recovery (and less cleanup.) Pressure sores have to be really hard on her, I hope somehow you can get her to heal up some.

Chris, we are praying Mallory will be all well soon. Arnold is out of ICU and in a reg. room. They have his oxygen level down to 5. Jbrostek so excited for your forth coming wedding. We will celebrate our 56 on Dec. 28. Thank all of you for the prayers & concerns, they are being felt.

That is great news!

As a long time ICU nurse, that is a big step. Hopefully he is staying active :crutches: and they are making him get up and T/C/DB (turn, cough, deep breath), although that has been replaced with incentive spirometers now.

@FriendsOfEeyore December 28th is our wedding date!! It was a jewelers anniversary date too! It really is a wonderful time of the year!

Saturday we met with our caterer and venue to finalize table and other arrangements and our final headcount. After lunch with Melissa and picking up some prints we had made for photos to display at the reception, I was picked up by my best man for a night out. I survived a night out with the boys for my bachelor party. We started out the night with a few hours of go-cart racing at a local indoor track. Electric carts and a whole lotta fun. Then it was off to local pub for dinner and waaaaaaaaay too many drinks. Though Melissa and I were able to get some work done finalizing the table assignments while I was out. Sunday Melissa crafted up some other decorations for the reception done while I napped off the previous night in the late morning. After that we were able to finalize send the table assignments and menu choices to the caterer plus I printed up the escort cards. One good thing about Melissa being so good with crafting and me pretty good with technology, we could make our own cards off a word template and print them on card stock!

This week is a busy one of running kiddos around and having final calls with all our vendors as we need to meet with our Photographer, Reverend and DJ. This weekend will be Melissa's wedding shower/celebration he oldest daughter with the help of a few friends are arranging for her. With a surprise birthday celebration at the end. Her birthday we have gymnastics meet to be at by 8am. So I planned a little afternoon special time for her 40th and I ordered a cake in her favorite flavor from our baker for our wedding cake. I want her to feel special on her birthday even if the day ended up full of kid stuff to do.

Before we know it, it will be christmas and our wedding. I have a feeling that 2020 will feel like a much slower year after all the big changes for us this year.

Whew!

You wore me out with all the planning, but it sounds like it is going to be great.

You did remind me why DW and I said "never again" after our wedding. :)
